Step 1 复习旧知,预热话题

1. 提示学生做好课前准备。

T:Before our class, make sure your pen, note book and the

worksheet are on your desk.

2. 复习本单元话题,回忆Baobao的伦敦旅行经历,复习大本钟和泰晤士河的相关信息

T: The topic of unit 5 is about countries in the world. In this

unit, we have known the capitals, the locations, the national

flags, and the main cities of some countries.

For our friend Baobao, do you remember where he goes

on his holiday?

Can you tell me where London is?

Do you remember what Baobao and his family see in

What do they think of the two places?

T: During Baobao’s trip, he meets a new friend in London. She

is going to show Baobao around her city-London. They will

visit some famous places along the Thames. Big Ben is on the

north bank of the Thames.

Sally 将要带领宝宝参观泰晤士河沿岸的景点,大本钟就在位于泰晤士的北岸。

T: How will Sally introduce the Thames and Big Ben? Let’s

have a look.

(设计意图:复习第五单元话题及Baobao伦敦旅行的经历,初步引导学生从Location,Features两个方面来认识伦敦及其景点泰晤士河、大本钟,唤醒旧知,以旧导新。)

Step 2 图片环游,梳理泰晤士河、大本钟的Location,Features,Things to do的相关信息。

1. 呈现P2图片、文字及录音,师生共同梳理泰晤士河相关信息。

T: From Sally’s introduction, what do you know about the

Thames?

Ss: It runs through the city from west to east.

T: What is it about?

Ss: It’s about where it is.

T: We can sum it up in one word. Look, we can say it’s about

the location of the Thames. And we also know it’s long and

wide. It’s the famous “Mother” river in London. What are they

about?

Ss: They are about what it’s like?

T: We can also say they are about the features (特征) of the

Thames. Except for these two parts, what else do you know?

Ss: People like to go boating on the river.

T: What is it about?

Ss: It tells us what people can do there. So we can say it’s about

things to do there.

T:And what about Big Ben?

How does Sally introduce it?

3. 学生自读绘本P3-P4大本钟的文字内容,在文中标注出大本钟地点、特征及活动的相关信息。

T: What do you know about Big Ben?

Please take out your picture book and read P3-P4 again, then

try to find out the answers to these three aspects.

4. 师生共读,核对答案。

1) Location

T: Where is Big Ben? Did you find it?

Ss: It’s on the north bank of the Thames.

2) Features

T: And what’s it like?

Ss: It’s famous, old and tall.

T: For the features, what else do we know?

Ss: It has four faces and the two hands are about four meters

long.

3) Things to do

T: In this picture, what do you know about Big Ben ? Listen,

What do you hear?

Ss: It’s the sound of the Big Ben. People like to hear the big

bell striking on the hour.

Step 3 图片环游,学习白金汉宫、伦敦塔桥、伦敦眼相关介绍。

1. 呈现P5-P8录音、文字,学生初步了解白金汉宫、伦敦塔桥、伦敦眼的相关信息。

T:We know a lot about the Thames and Big Ben. Besides the

two places, what other places will they go? Let's follow them

and have a look.(播放录音)

2. 学生自读绘本P5-P8,梳理白金汉宫、伦敦塔桥、伦敦眼的Locations, Features, Things to do,完成表格内容。

T:What do you know about these three places?

Now, boys and girls, please take out your worksheet and your

storybook, read the story from page 5 to page 8 by yourselves.

Then complete the table.
