1.2 Pre-reading要求学生讨论5个与吸烟有关的问题，为后面的Reading做铺垫。

1.3 Reading是一封爷爷写给James的建议信，信中谈到了吸烟为什么会上瘾、吸烟对健康的危害并附上了一篇如何戒烟的文章来帮助James戒烟。

1.4 Comprehending要求学生讨论几个与Reading内容有关的问题，并根据Reading的内容完成表格。

另外还要求学生用自己的语言简要概述一下advice on how to stop smoking。

1.5 Learning about Language包括两部分：Discovering useful words and expressions 是两个关于Reading中的一些词汇的练习；Discovering useful structures 是关于it structure的用法介绍和练习。

二、本教学环节的不足之处：1.本节英语课上我的设计基本上还限于教材的信息，而开放型的、能激发学生想象力与创造力和发散学生思维的课堂比例还不够大。

2.由于本节课是包括了Warming up 和 reading两个环节，教学设计任务较多，导致学生阅读、思考的时间不够。

3. 在讨论环节，还是因为没能适当提供一些短语和句型，导致学生有话说不出。

三、针对以上不足之处，我觉得今后在教学中应该注意一下几点：首先，我们备课不仅仅要备教材，还要备学生。

要根据学生英语基础的实际情况，设计一些开放性的资料来提高课堂教学质量。

当然这些我们自己设计的教学素材不能脱离教材本身。

其次，英语课堂中，我们应该根据本班学生的英语基础，设计一些难度适中的活动，这样才能激发他们参与活动的热情。

如果在课堂中发现学生在进行某个活动中有困难，我们老师应该及时给予帮助，以帮助学生顺利完成任务。

另外，在设计课堂活动和练习题时，应注重素质教育和应试教育的结合，以期能提高学生听说读写的能力，同时也能让他们在考试中得心应手。

四、从本堂课这三点收获中，我认识到现在的英语教学要以学生为主体，教师为引导。

多鼓励学生开口说英语，并能及时地表扬他们。

教师要有课堂效益意识。

教学效益首先体现在课堂教学信息量、教学活动的广度和密度以及媒体的使用上。

有效的媒体手段有助于课堂容量、密度和速度的提高。

尤其是在英语课堂上适当地使用多媒体手段，不但可以活跃课堂，更能提高学生的参与面，短、频、快的大容量课堂节奏能有效地吸引并集中学生的学习注意，从而最终提高学习的听课效益；其次，课堂效益意识还体现在教学的设计中要充分为学而教，以学生如何有效获取知识，提高能力的标准来设计教学。

课堂设计要有助于学生在课堂上积极参与，有助于他们有效内化知识与信息，复习过程中要重视学习方法的指导，在教学中恰当地渗透高考的信息，拓宽教学内容。
