Background information
This section further develops the use of adjectives already introduced in the reading and
vocabulary sections. The story moves on from describing best friends for a magazine competition
to describing classmates at Beijing Sunshine Secondary School. Daniel wants to write to his
e-friends about his classmates. We already know some students’ features from earlier passages but
we will learn more about their physical appearance and abilities in this section. Most adjectives
are familiar so that students are able to focus on using them accurately in sentences. The use of

Today, let's talk about Unit 1 in Oxford 8A. This unit is all
about "My Home". We learned a lot of new words and grammar
in this unit.
First, we learned about different rooms in the house, like the
living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. We also learned
how to describe our house using words like big, small, clean,
messy, and cozy. It was fun to learn all these new words because
we could use them to talk about our own homes.
Next, we learned how to talk about our daily routines. We
learned phrases like "I wake up at 7 o'clock" and "I have
breakfast at 8 o'clock". We also practiced asking questions like
"What time do you go to bed?" and answering them. It was cool
to talk about our daily routines and see how they are similar or
different from each other.

形容词的比较级和最高级
四、形容词最高级的用法
1.基本用法:形容词的最高级用于三个或者三个以上的人或者事物进行比较。它前面通常要有定冠词the,后面通常接“of……/in……”
当比较的范围与主语是同一类人或物,或属于同一概念时,要用介词of引导的短语;当比较的范围与主语不是同一类人或物,强调在某一范围或场所内进行比较时,要用介词in引导的短语。
