致联合国秘书长潘基文先生的一封信
亲爱的潘基文先生：
您好！
我们中国的孩子虽然现在还生活在和平的环境中，但是世界还并不太平也许哪一天这可恶的战争也会降临到我们的头上。
如果没有战争，哭泣声就少了，欢声笑语多了，世界变得完美了，这样和平之神才能安然的住在人间。
但是，战争到处都是，一波未平一波又起，每时每刻，某个战场上又会失去多少条鲜活的生命，尤其是那些老人和妇女、孩子也被杀害了，他们又有社么错？是他们挑起来的吗？不，这些都是战争惹的祸。
战争给一个家庭带来的不是欢声笑语，也不是其乐融融，而是泪水和悲伤。
没有战争，至少可以让人们少哭泣一点，至少可以让人们多点笑容。
如果一家人能幸福地生活在一起，那这一家就圆满了。
潘基文先生，我想通过你向全世界呼吁：要和平，不要战争，全世界爱好和平的人们立即行动起来，维护和平，制止战争！

在我们生活的这个时代，人与人之间的通信是实现发展与和平共处这一共同目标的不可或缺的手段。
信息和通信技术方面的创新使得我们沟通彼此的能力不断加速扩展。
我们应责无旁贷地在各自的工作中驾驭这些技术的潜力，让所有人都能从教育、医疗、贸易和环境保护之中受益。

2024年联合国秘书长潘基文＂地球一小时＂演讲稿尊敬的各位来宾，女士们，先生们：大家好！我是联合国秘书长潘基文，今天非常荣幸能在这里与大家共同探讨一个至关重要的话题——“地球一小时”。
这是一个需要我们每个人共同关注、共同行动的议题。
在面临全球气候变化、生态环境恶化的严峻挑战下，我们亟需采取行动，为保护我们共同的家园贡献一份力量。
首先，请允许我为大家简要介绍一下“地球一小时”活动的背景和意义。
这项活动始于2007年，由世界自然基金会发起，旨在呼吁全球民众关注气候变化，通过熄灯一小时的方式，表达对地球环境的关爱。
如今，这一活动已经发展成为全球最具影响力的环保行动之一，每年都能吸引亿万民众参与。
我们之所以要关注气候变化，是因为它直接关系到我们人类的生存和发展。
全球气候变暖导致冰川融化、海平面上升、极端天气频发，给人类社会带来了巨大灾难。
据科学家研究，气候变化的根源在于人类活动产生的温室气体排放，而减少这些排放的关键在于我们每个人的行动。
那么，作为普通人，我们能为应对气候变化做些什么呢？答案就是：从日常生活做起，从身边小事做起。
正如“地球一小时”活动所倡导的那样，我们可以通过熄灯一小时、节约用水、减少浪费等方式，为保护环境贡献自己的一份力量。
这些看似微不足道的举动，实则意义重大。
正如一位名人所说：“保护环境，人人有责。
每个人的一小步，就是人类文明的一大步。
”当然，要应对气候变化，单靠个人的力量是不够的。
我们需要政府、企业、社会组织和国际社会共同努力，形成合力。
政府需要制定更加严格的环保法规，鼓励绿色产业的发展；企业需要积极承担社会责任，推广清洁能源，减少污染排放；社会组织需要发动更多民众参与环保行动，提高全社会的环保意识；国际社会需要加强合作，共同应对气候变化带来的挑战。
在这里，我要特别强调的是，青年一代在应对气候变化中发挥着举足轻重的作用。
作为未来的主人翁，青年们有着更加敏锐的环保意识，更加积极的行动意愿。
在2010年9月21日国际和平日到来前夕，联合国纽约总部举行了特别的纪念活动，秘书长潘基文在活动上发表讲话并鸣响了和平钟，以下为讲话全文。

I work with antagonists to help them resolve their differences peacefully.I sound the alarm about threats – those we can see clearly, and others just over the horizon. I promote tolerance, justice and human rights. I campaign for harmony among countries and peoples.我在对立双方之间进行调解。

【英文演讲】联合国潘基文秘书长致辞A record 130 million people are dependent on humanitarian assistance to survive. Grouped together, these people in need would comprise the tenth most populous nation on Earth.世界上有1.3亿人依赖人道主义援助生存。

These figures are truly staggering, yet they tell only a fraction of the story. Hidden behind the statistics are individuals, families and communities whose lives have been devastated. People no different to you and me: children, women and men who face impossible choices every day. They are parents who must choose between buying food or medicine for their children; children who must choose between school or working to support their families; families who must risk bombing at home or a perilous escape by sea.数字确实惊人，但数字只是故事的一部分。

Information and communication technologies have transformed the global landscape. They power the world economy and have become the great enablers of modern society, helping people communicate across distances and cultural divides, facilitating trade and commerce, and providing access to critical resources such as healthcare and education.
信息和通信技术改变了全球面貌。
这些技术为世界经济提供动力，有力推动了现代社会的发展，帮助人们逾越沟通的距离和文化差距，为贸易和商业提供便利，并提供获取保健和教育等至关重要资源的机会。
Recent events around the world, in particular in North Africa and the Middle East, have also highlighted the catalytic role that mobile phones and social media can play in galvanizing public opinion against repression. And in the aftermath of natural disasters that have struck with greater frequency and force, we have seen how these technologies are a vital part of the aid response, establishing lines of communication that can save lives, reunite families and help emergency relief reach people in need.
世界各地、特别是北非和中东近期发生的事件还突出说明，手机和社交媒体可在激发反对压制的公众舆论方面发挥催化作用。
此外，我们已看到，在越来越频繁、破坏力越来越大的自然灾害发生后，信息和通信技术可在救援中发挥关键作用，开通通信线路可拯救生命，使家人团聚，并帮助陷于困境的人们获得紧急救济。
The theme of this year’s observance, “Better life in rural communities with ICTs”, highlights the need to harness the full potential of ICTs for the benefit of the world's rural population. Seventy per cent of the developing world's 1.4 billion extremely poor people live in rural areas. Their lives can be transformed as we connect village schools to information and knowledge on the Internet, bring telemedicine to far-flung rural health centres, provide accurate weather information to farmers and fishermen, and supply up-to-date market information to producers.
今年庆祝活动的主题、“借助信息和通信技术让农村社区生活更加美好”，突出的是有必要充分利用信通技术的潜力，造福世界农村人口。
在发展中国家14亿赤贫人口中，70%的人生活在农村地区。
如果我们将乡村学校与因特网的信息和知识连通，将远距医学送抵偏远的农村保健中心，让农民和渔民获得准确的天气资料，让农业生产者得到最新市场信息，这些赤贫者的生活可以改变。
The International Telecommunication Union and its partners continue striving to connect the world. I welcome these efforts, especially the drive to bring broadband to every community. Broadband telecommunications will make it possible to drive content to the remotest rural districts.
国际电信联盟及其伙伴继续为连通世界而努力。

As we bridge the digital divide, we narrow the chasm that separates those with and without access to information and knowledge, thereby broadening opportunities for a better life. Greater access means earlier achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. It means less poverty and hunger, and more environmental sustainability. And it translates into greater equality and empowerment for women and the underprivileged.
在我们弥合数字鸿沟的时候，也会缩小把有机会获取信息和知识的人与没有这样机会的人隔开的鸿沟，从而拓宽更多人改善生活的机会。
扩大机会意味着尽早实现千年发展目标，意味着贫困和饥饿减少以及环境可持续性增强，并将推动实现妇女和弱势群体的平等与赋权。
On this World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, let us resolve to connect rural communities and the entire world to the digital revolution as a means of achieving our development goals and fostering peace and prosperity for all.
值此世界电信和信息社会日之际，让我们坚定决心，实现农村社区和整个世界与数字革命的连通，以此推动实现发展目标，促进人人皆享有和平与繁荣。
