Part 2:Teaching Procedure

Step 1:Warm-up (5 minutes)

classroom activities.

• Ask students what they usually do in the classroom.

• Introduce the spelling activity for today.

Step 2:Presentation (10 minutes)

• Review the spelling rules with students (consonants, vowels,

silent letters, etc.).

• Present the 8 words related to classroom activities on the board:

read, write, listen, speak, draw, sing, stand, sit.

• Pronounce each word slowly and clearly while pointing to the

corresponding picture.

• Ask students to repeat after you.

English.

• Walk around the class and check students’ pronunciation and

spelling skills.

• Wrap up the lesson by reminding students to review and practice

the words at home.

Part 3:Assessment

To assess whether students have a solid grasp of this lesson’s

target words, the teacher can:

• Walk around the classroom as the students practice spelling the

words to check their understanding.

• Do a quick quiz verbally to check the students’ understanding of

the words and enable teacher to target any recurring weaknesses.

• Use several words in a given sentence during class and ask

students to identify each word and spell it, to ensure they understand

what the words actually mean.

Part 4:Conclusion

This Let’s Spell session can help students to keep track of what

they’ve learned in English class. Spelling is a fundamental building

block of English vocabulary, and the ability to spell correctly can help

students build their grammar, reading skills, and even improve their

communication skills. The teacher’s task is to keep the class active

and engaged, and to instill in the student the joy and love of language learning. It is hoped that the activities and games suggested in this

lesson will achieve this goal.
