Teaching procedures

Step 1 Warming up & Revision

1. Greet the class.

2. Check some individuals to read according to the phonics of the

words. Then the whole class read and spell the words together.

3. Ask and answer. Show some pictures of the holidays, ask the Ss

to say out the names of the months with some questions.

When is the winter vacation? When is Tree Planting Day?

Is Children’s Day in May? When is Children’s Day?

Step 2 Presentation & Practice

1. Show the pictures of four seasons. Ask some of the Ss to

describe the season which they like best. Then express their

feeling of their favourite season. Then review the key sentence

Which season do you like best? Why do you like …?

2. Have the Ss understand the sentence according to the

2 different seasons. S: What do you usually do in spring/ summer/

autumn/ winter? We usually … in … Board the sentences and lead

the Ss to practice them.

3. Show the seasons and the activities to the Ss. Ask and answer

in groups with the sentences What do you usually do in …? We

usually have … in … Then asks the Ss Where will you go? Show

the picture of the Great Wall and lead out the sentence We will

go to the Great Wall. I love the Great Wall.

4. Let’s try. Listen and tick. Ask the Ss to listen and tick out the

correct answer about What will Oliver have? Then check some

individuals.

5. Read the dialogue and answer the questions.

A. What’s Oliver’s favourite season?

B. Why does Oliver like autumn best?

C. Does Chen Jie like autumn?

D. Where will they go on the school trip?

6. Check the answers together.

7. Watch the video, listen and follow. Then read together.

Step 3 Consolidation & Extension

1. Ask the Ss to talk about the activities they will do on Mother’s

Day. Then make a dialogue with their partners.

2. Do exercises.

A. Try to understand the meaning of the sentences.

B. Say out the sentences in the specific situations.

Step 4 Summary & Homework

1. Summarize the key points of this lesson.
