Step1:Lead in

Aims: To attract students’ attention to the topic.

Teacher’s activities : Talk about the teacher has in the fridge in order to help teach

students to learn the words.

Students’ activities: Guess what the teacher has in the fridge.

Step2:Presentation

(1).Show some pictures of food in this lesson one by one and teach the new words

by using the patterns:

What’re these? They’re…

I like ….Do you like …? Yes , I do./No, I don’t.

I don’t like ….Do you like …? Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.

Ask Ss to pay attention to the plural forms of these new words.

(2)Practise: Activity 1a T: Now, let’s have a look at the picture in l a .What can you see in it ?

Ss: There are many people and food.

T: Right. Look carefully and match the words with the things in the picture. Do it

now.

Then check the answers.

Step3:Presentation

(1) T:I like bananas.(To a student)Do you like bananas?

T: I don’t like salad.(To a student)Do you like salad?

Ask the Ss to read the sentence patterns.

(2)Activity 1b:

①Listen and number the conversations.

②Check the answer.Let the Ss repeat the conversations after the teacher.

(3)Pairwork: Activity 1c :

Show a picture of some food.Ask Ss to practise the sentence pattern in pairs.

Finally, ask some volunteers to present their conversations to the whole class.

Step4: Practice

Activity2a and 2b

T: Now, we’ll do some listening practice. Before listening, please read through the words in the box silently so that you can know their meaning. Then I’ll play the

tape twice. You need to listen carefully and circle the food you hear.

After students finish the word, check the answers.

T: Now look at the pictures carefully so that you can know what they are talking

about. Then I’ll play the tape again for you to listen. You have to listen carefully

and fill in the blanks.

Finally, I’ll check your answers.

Step5: Pair work

Ask the Ss to look at the picture and talk about the Ss’ likes and dislikes.

Ask students to read through the conversation silently so they can know its main

idea. Then answer the questions. Listen to the conversation.

Then put the students into pairs to role-play the conversation.
