Lesson 50: Danny’s Hobby

2. How to write a letter and demonstrate clearly what you need.

2. Say something about Danny’s Grandpa Giant.
3. Help students learn to interview and write a report about others’ hobbies.
◆教学情景导入入
Hello, students. Yesterday Danny wanted to buy a tree in a photo shop. But at last he bought some frames.
What did he buy them for? For his hobby. What’s Danny’s hobby? Guess at first and then let’s know about
Danny’s hobby.
◆教学过程设计
Step 1. First ask some students to show their hobbies to the class. And then say something about his or her
hobby.
Step 2. Come to “Think About It!”. Let the students to talk about the first question. Then give a reporter to
introduce your families’ hobbies to your classmates. Let the students know about you family clearly.
After listening the tape, answer the second question.
Step 3. Listen to the tape and answer the following questions:
T: What does Danny’s great great grandpa like? S: ……
T: Where did Danny’s great great grandpa come from? S: ……
T: Where did he learn English? S: ……
T: What is Danny’s hobby? S: ……
Step 4. Ask the student to read the letter and explain the language points to help them to better understand the
letter. thank sb. for sth./ like doing sth.
Step 5. Read the letter silently again and then retell the story in a third person.
Step 6. Come to “Let’s Do It!”. Now let’s interview your partner about his or her family members. Ask about
their lives, jobs, hobbies or anything else you want to know. Then write a report and present it to the
class. I give you some minutes to prepare.
Step 7. Homewrok. Practice writing more in order to keep the skill well.

在写作时,不管何种体裁的写作题,都会有几个明确的要点,忽视其中任何一点,都会使整篇文章显得不完整,老师指导学生进行书面表达时要注意:(1)紧扣文章主题,表达清楚要求叙述的内容。(2)用自己擅长的词汇和句型进行写作,采用“某词没底,另找替换;某句有疑,寻求他法”的手段来恰当表达文章内容,保证全文的组织结构、句与句之间的并列、转折和因果等关系、描写中的时间或空三间顺序等都能得到巧妙合理的设计。总之一句话:抓住要点,叙述流畅。
