奥斯汀的小说尽管题材比较狭窄，故事相当 平淡，但是她善于在日常平凡事物中塑造鲜 明的人物形象。奥斯丁的语言是经过锤炼的， 她在对话艺术上讲究幽默、讽刺，常以风趣 诙谐的语言来烘托人物的性格特征。伊丽莎 白是一个具有独立灵魂的人物,她因睿智而 美丽,她敢于做那个受名利束缚时代的真正 的女性.她真挚善良的心,令人动容.那是不容 一丝玷污和污蔑的,如兰草般芳香美好。

4.体会小说的语言。外国小说，特别是欧美小说，原文 语句一般比较长，表意比较繁复，翻译成汉语也不免留下原 作的痕迹，阅读时要仔细推敲，明晰语句的含义。
5.选择好的版本阅读。 大部分世界文学名著，都 有多个译本，阅读前可以 查阅一些图书评论或专家 推介的资料，选择好一些 的版本来读。

Austen established great “Irony” between the words and the thought. Hence, her “irony” was no longer limited to text ,but has become Austen’s whole art world and her inner soul. In her preliminary work, like “Sense and Sensibility”、 “ Pride and Prejudice ”,”Verbal Irony” ,言语反讽 and “Dramatic Irony”戏 剧反讽 is Austen’s favorites “Irony” type, and is also the novel comedic fountainhead. The tone of the novel is light, satirical, and vivid. Scenes such as Mr. Collins proposal to Elizabeth, and Lady Catherine visits to Lizzy at Longbourn, provides comic relief to the reader while at the same time revealing certain characteristics of the characters. For example, Lydia's lack of common sense and responsibility is revealed when she takes pride in being the first Bennet girl to be married. Lydia does not take into consideration the circumstance of her marriage, the personality of her husband, or the prospects of their marriage for the future. Elizabeth Bennet's ability to laugh off her misfortunate and to continue to be optimistic, considering her situation, also contributes to the tone of the novel.

What is worse, she does not own large property, and then the only way out for her is to marry a suitable man to secure her rest life.
