青藏铁路（英文名称：Qinghai-Tibet Railway），简称青藏线，是一条连 接青海省西宁市至西藏自治区拉萨市的国铁Ⅰ级铁路，是中国新世纪四大工程之一， 是通往西藏腹地的第一条铁路，也是世界上海拔最高、线路最长的高原铁路。

在青藏铁路设计时，为了不影响野 生动物的生活和迁徙，对于穿越可 可西里、羌塘等自然保护区的铁路 线，尽可能采取了绕避的方案。同 时，根据沿线野生动物的生活习性、 迁徙规律等，在相应的地段设置了 野生动物通道，以保障野生动，巧的是大部 分桥下并没有水，因此，铁路当建成后，恢复 桥梁下原始植被，野生动物就可以在往日熟悉 的环境下自由穿行。而对于下方有水的桥梁， 就需要增加引桥高度和恢复引桥下方的景观， 以使野生动物在取食、引水时可以自然通过， 这种通道的形式特别适合于草原有蹄类动物通 过。
为了攻克冻土难题，中国科学家采取了以桥代 路、片石通风路基、通风管路基（主动降温）、 碎石和片石护坡、热棒、保温板、综合防排水 体系等措施，解决了千年冻土所带来的的难题
热棒
热棒是一种汽液两相对流循环的导热系统。它是一根密封的管,里面充填一定量的工质(如氮、 氟里昂、丙烷、CO2等),上端为散热片组成的冷凝器,下端为装有工质的蒸发器,中间为绝热段。当 冷凝器的温度低于蒸发器的温差时,蒸发器内的液体工质吸收热量而蒸发,在压差作用下,蒸汽上升至 冷凝器端,放出汽化潜热,通过散热片放出,蒸汽工质也随之冷却凝结成液珠,在重力作用下,液珠沿管 壁回流至蒸发器。如此反复循环,将地基土中的热量不断散发出去而使土体冷却。
