Chapter 5 Methods in Translation—— Foreignization and Domestication 翻译的方法——异化与归化——Also on the Cultural Awareness in Translation兼谈翻译中的文化意识5.1 Background of Cultural Studies in Translation— A Brief IntroductionCultural studies in translation began in the 1980s in China and boomed in the 1990s.In 1984, Wang Zuoliang said in his Cultural Comparison in Translation “a translator is dealing with individual words, but what he faces is two different cultures. ( 译者“处理的是个别的词,他面对的则是两大片文化。
)He advocated that every translator should become “a cultural man in real sense真正意义上的文化人”(郭建中,2000:2-3)Eugene Nida said in his important book Language, Culture and Translation(1993:110): “For truly successful translating, biculturalism is even more important than bilingualism, since words only have meanings in terms of the cultures in which they function” . (就真正成功的翻译而言,熟悉两种文化甚至比掌握两种语言更重要,因为词语只有在起作用的文化背景中才有意义。

黑骏马第一章,到第六章每一章的读后感英文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Chapter 1: The Ship TrapWow, what an exciting start to the story! I was on the edge of my seat as Alec Ramsay and his father boarded the ship, only for it to get caught in a huge storm. The vivid descriptions of the crashing waves and the violent rocking of the ship made me feel like I was right there with them. I felt so bad for Alec when his father was swept overboard – that must have been so scary and heartbreaking for him. And then the ship sank too! I can't imagine how terrified Alec must have felt, clinging to that little raft all alone in the vast ocean. I'm really eager to find out what happens to him next.Chapter 2: The Black StallionI was so relieved when Alec spotted that mysterious black stallion swimming towards him! At first, I thought the horse might attack him, but it was amazing how they formed a bond and worked together to survive. The stallion is such a powerful, magnificent creature. I loved the way Alec described his shinyblack coat and wild spirit. It was almost like the horse gave Alec the strength and determination to keep going, even in the most desperate circumstances. I can't wait to see how their incredible friendship develops.Chapter 3: The Rope's EndPhew, what a close call! I was on the edge of my seat when the stallion got tangled in that rope and started to drown. I'm so glad Alec was able to think quickly and free him. It just shows how deep their connection has already become. The scenes of them finally reaching the deserted island and collapsing on the beach were so vivid – I could almost feel the sand beneath my feet and taste the salty sea air. I felt exhausted just reading about all they'd been through! But at least now they're safe on land, even if they don't know where they are.Chapter 4: The Red-Tongued DemonsYikes, that was a scary chapter! I got chills reading about those vicious, bloodthirsty creatures lurking on the island. The descriptions of their glowing red eyes and razor-sharp fangs made my heart race. I'm really glad Alec and the stallion were able to outrun them and find shelter in that little cave. I can't imagine how terrifying it must have been to hear those creatures prowling around outside all night long. I hope they can find away off the island soon, before those demons find them! Still, I'm amazed by how Alec never lost hope, and how his bond with the stallion kept growing stronger.Chapter 5: Aboard the DrakeFinally, some good news! I was so relieved when that ship arrived and rescued Alec and the stallion. Captain Fielding seems like a kind, fair-minded man for agreeing to take them aboard, even though having a stallion on his ship is pretty unusual. I felt bad for Alec when some of the crew members mocked him at first, but I'm glad he stood up for himself and his horse. It was really cool when the stallion showed off his speed and power during that race on the beach. I can see why everyone was in awe of him! I hope the journey to America goes smoothly.Chapter 6: ArrivalWhat an emotional ending to this section! I almost cried when Alec saw the Statue of Liberty and realized he had finally made it to New York after everything he'd been through. Those descriptions of the busy harbor and towering skyscrapers made me feel like I was right there with him, getting my first glimpse of America. I'm sure it was bittersweet though, since his parents weren't there to share that moment. Still, I'm really happy Alec and the stallion forged such an incredible friendship andsupported each other through their incredible journey. I can't wait to see what other adventures await them in the New World!篇2Chapters 1-2 ReflectionWow, the beginning of "The Black Stallion" was so exciting! When the ship crashed and sank, I was on the edge of my seat. I could picture the huge waves crashing over the deck and the chaos of everyone trying to get to the lifeboats. Poor Alec was all alone after being separated from his family. I can't even imagine how scared he must have felt! When Alec saw the black stallion, I was in awe. The author's description of the powerful horse made me feel like I was right there watching it. The stallion seemed almost supernatural with its rippling muscles and fiery eyes. No wonder both Alec and the stallion wanted to survive their shipwreck ordeal after connecting on that level.I loved the bravery Alec showed by jumping off the ship to try to tame the wild stallion. He could have easily given up or been too afraid to act. Alec was smart to hang on tight and let himself be pulled along in the water. I don't know if I would havehad that same courage at his age! By the end of those chapters, I was rooting for the two of them to make it safely to land.Chapter 3 ReflectionAlec and the Black's struggle to survive on the deserted island was the hardest part of the book for me so far. My heart went out to them having to drink pomegranate-tinted water and eat bitter-tasting vines just to stay alive. The scorching hot days and cold nights sounded miserable. I can't fathom being that lonely either, without any other humans around.I was touched by how Alec's determination and the stallion's strength helped them push forward day after day. The bond between them grew so strong as Alec figured out ways to communicate with the horse and earn his trust. I'll never take simple things like fresh water and ripe fruit for granted again!By the time they were finally rescued, I had come to admire Alec's endless perseverance and positivity. Instead of giving up hope, he rallied each morning and mapped out that day's tasks. His resilience despite his youth was inspiring. I aspire to have that kind of inner strength!Chapters 4-5 ReflectionI'm so glad Alec and the Black stallion were rescued, but their journey was still filled with obstacles once they made it to the mill on Farmer Nolan's land. My heart went out to the stallion having to work so hard all day on the treadmill just to grind grain. Can you imagine being a powerful racehorse bred for running and then being confined to marching in circles? No wonder the stallion was extremely unhappy.Alec showed his compassion by risking getting fired so he could free the agitated stallion for daily runs in the countryside. Their joyful gallops through green fields made me smile. You could tell the Black treasured those snatches of freedom in the open air after being cooped up working at the mill. I admired Alec's daring and his belief in doing what he thought was right for his friend.I was cheering when the big red truck arrived to whisk Alec and the Black stallion off to a new life with the kindly old horse trainer. Although I felt bad that Alec had to sneak away, I knew it was better for them to escape that dreary mill. I had such high hopes for their chance to pursue their shared dream of becoming a championship racing duo. The future seemed brighter than ever!Chapter 6 ReflectionI'll admit I was pretty nervous when Alec awoke in the horse trainer's bustling stables full of loud chaos. How unsettling to be suddenly thrust into a strange new environment after everything he had been through! The description of stalls lined up in neat rows and a flurry of activity made it feel almost overwhelming, at least at first. My fears were quickly put to ease as Alec met the friendly trainer Henry and his cheerful niece Snickers. Snickers reminded me a little of myself - energetic, curious, and maybe a tad rambunctious at times! I loved her refusal to skip rope "like a girl" and how she eagerly tagged along to check out the Black stallion. Her blunt honesty toward her uncle made me laugh.By the end of the chapter, I felt relieved that Alec had found such a welcoming, supportive environment to call home. The stables brimmed with a sense of joy and possibility that gave me high hopes for Alec and the Black's future. Henry seemed to know his stuff about racehorses, which was invaluable given their lofty ambitions.I'm super excited to read more about their journey toward becoming a championship racing team. With Alec's tenacity and the Black's raw talent, I know they'll make an unstoppable duoout on the track! This has been such an engrossing, fast-paced tale of resilience so far. Bring on the next chapters!篇3Chapter 1 Reading ResponseWow, what an exciting start to the book! The Black Stallion is such a powerful and majestic horse. I was on the edge of my seat as Alec Ramsay and the Black were shipwrecked on a deserted island. It must have been so scary for Alec, but he showed a lot of bravery and quick thinking to survive. I can't imagine being all alone like that, except for the company of a wild stallion. I wonder how Alec will be able to tame the Black and if they'll be rescued? I can't wait to find out what happens next!Chapter 2 Reading ResponseIt was amazing to read about how Alec slowly gained the trust of the Black Stallion. He was so patient and gentle with the horse, even after the Black tried to attack him. I loved the part where Alec started leaving food for the Black, and eventually, the horse allowed Alec to touch him. It must have taken a lot of courage for Alec to approach such a powerful animal, but his kindness paid off. I can't believe they've been stranded on the island for so long already. I hope they get rescued soon, but I'malso excited to see the special bond between Alec and the Black grow stronger.Chapter 3 Reading ResponseI was on the edge of my seat during this chapter! When the ship arrived, I was so relieved that Alec and the Black might finally be rescued. But then the dramatic standoff with the crew members trying to capture the Stallion had me biting my nails. It was incredible how the Black trusted Alec enough to let him ride bareback and lead him to safety. Their escape through the jungle was like something out of an adventure movie! I'm so glad Alec didn't give up on the Black, even when the sailors were trying to take him away. Their friendship is truly special.Chapter 4 Reading ResponseFinally, Alec and the Black were rescued! But it was so sad when they had to be separated. Poor Alec must have been heartbroken to see his beloved horse taken away. I can't imagine how tough it was for him to recover from his injuries without the Black by his side. It was touching to see how much Alec's parents cared for him and wanted him to get better. I'm glad they believed his incredible story about being shipwrecked and befriending the stallion. I hope Alec and the Black will bereunited soon – they belong together after everything they've been through!Chapter 5 Reading ResponseI was on the edge of my seat again in this chapter! When Alec's father revealed he had secretly bought the Black Stallion, I let out a huge cheer. Finally, Alec and his beloved horse were back together again. But then the suspense built as the Black was being transported, and there was a dramatic incident with a reckless driver. I was holding my breath, terrified that something might happen to the Stallion. Phew, what a relief when they arrived safely at the Ramsay farm! I can't wait to see what adventures Alec and the Black will have now that they're reunited.Chapter 6 Reading ResponseThis chapter was all about Alec's journey to regain his strength and bond with the Black Stallion. I loved reading about their daily routine of grooming, feeding, and eventually riding together. You could really feel the deep connection between the boy and his horse. It was funny when the Black kept testing Alec by trying to get him off his back! But Alec was determined, and his hard work paid off as the Black allowed him to ride more and more. I'm sure it wasn't easy for Alec to recover from his injuries, but having the Black by his side must have given him so much strength and motivation. Their friendship is truly inspiring!篇4Reader's Response to Chapters 1-6 of "The Black Stallion" by Walter FarleyChapter 1: The Black StallionWow, what an exciting start to the book! I was on the edge of my seat reading about Alec Ramsay and his journey across the ocean. The ship getting caught in that crazy storm was so scary. I can't even imagine how terrifying it must have been for Alec and the crew. And then the ship sinking and Alec ending up stranded on a little raft with the huge black stallion? I'm so glad they both survived, but I wonder what will happen to them now, stuck in the middle of the sea.Chapter 2: The Black MassesAlec and the stallion have been drifting for days with hardly any food or water. I felt so bad for them being so hungry and thirsty. It was really smart of Alec to try catching rain water and fish though. I'm amazed at how quickly he bonded with the stallion too, even giving him the name "Black." Their survivalskills are pretty impressive for a kid and an untamed horse! The way they worked together and looked out for each other was really heartwarming. I'm still worried about whether they'll get rescued before it's too late though.Chapter 3: Land HoYES! They finally spotted land! That must have been such a relief after being lost at sea for so long. Although, washing up on that tiny deserted island doesn't seem much better than the raft. At least they'll have fresh water though. I'm glad Black was able to swim to shore, he's such a powerful horse. Alec was really brave too, staying by Black's side the whole time even when the rocky shoreline looked so dangerous. They make such a great team. Now they just need to figure out how to survive on the island until help arrives!Chapter 4: The Smallest NavigatorI had no idea crabs could be so clever! It was really cool how that little crab helped lead Alec to find food and shelter on the island. Alec naming it "The Smallest Navigator" was such a fun detail too. The descriptions of the lush vegetation, fruit trees, and underground cave made me feel like I was right there with them exploring the island. Though I definitely wouldn't want to run into any of those wild pigs! Black may be big, but those tuskslooked terrifying. I'm relieved Alec and Black found a safe hideaway to rest. Hopefully, they'll get spotted by a passing ship soon.Chapter 5: FireOh no, a forest fire! I gasped when Alec woke up to the roaring flames surrounding them. My heart was pounding reading about them desperately trying to escape through the smoke. I'm so glad Alec had the quick thinking to lead Black into the ocean surf to avoid the fire. That scene with the stallion fearfully rearing up in the waves was beautifully described. You could really feel the intensity of the situation. I can't imagine how exhausted and scared they must have felt after that ordeal. At least the fire is out now and they still have their little cove. Surviving on that island is certainly a challenge!Chapter 6: The Cargo BoatFinally, a ship!! I cheered when Alec spotted that cargo boat in the distance and started waving like crazy. Those seamen must have incredible eyesight to notice him from so far away. And how lucky that the friendly captain agreed to take Alec and Black aboard? I'm sure that lifeboat ride over to the ship was terrifying though, with the huge waves crashing all around. I held my breath during the dramatic scene of trying to pull the massivestallion up onto the deck. He's so big and headstrong, I can't blame him for being afraid of those ropes and pulleys. Thank goodness Alec was there to calm him down. Phew, what a relief they're both safe now! Although I have a feeling their adventures are just beginning...I'm really enjoying this book so far! The vivid descriptions and high-stakes situations have me hooked. I love how brave and resourceful Alec is, and his bond with the Black Stallion is so special. I can't wait to read what happens next after their dramatic rescue at sea. This has been such an exciting survival story so far!篇5Chapter 1: The ShipwreckWow! The first chapter of "The Black Stallion" was so exciting! It started with Alec Ramsay and his mom sailing on a ship to India, where his dad worked. But then, a huge storm came, and their ship sank! I was on the edge of my seat, reading about how Alec held on for dear life as the waves crashed all around him. And then, he saw this beautiful black stallion swimming nearby! I can't imagine how scared they both must have been, but it wasamazing that they survived together. I can't wait to see what happens next!Chapter 2: The Calm After the StormAfter the thrilling shipwreck, this chapter was a bit slower, but still really interesting. Alec and the stallion ended up on a deserted island, and they had to figure out how to survive. I felt bad for them, having to drink salty water and eat raw fish. But it was cool how Alec started to bond with the stallion, even though the horse was still wild and didn't trust him at first. I loved the part where Alec realized the stallion was trying to protect him from the eagle! It's like they were becoming friends, even though they couldn't speak the same language.Chapter 3: The Arrival of the ShipFinally, a ship spotted Alec and the stallion on the island! I was so relieved when they were rescued. But then, the sailors on the ship wanted to take the stallion away from Alec, and I got really upset. After everything they went through together, how could they separate them?! I was cheering for Alec when he stood up to those mean sailors and insisted on keeping the stallion with him. I'm glad the captain was nice and let them stay together.Chapter 4: The Long Voyage HomeThis chapter was a bit slower, but it was still interesting to read about Alec and the stallion's journey back to America. I felt sorry for Alec when he got sick with the fever, and I was worried about what would happen to the stallion if Alec couldn't take care of him. But it was really cool how the stallion seemed to understand that Alec was sick and stayed close by his side. Their bond was getting stronger and stronger, and I loved reading about how Alec started to train the stallion a little bit, even though he was still recovering.Chapter 5: The New HomeI was so happy when Alec and the stallion finally made it back to America and got to stay on his mom's farm. But then, I got really mad when those jerks from the racetrack tried to take the stallion away! How dare they? After everything Alec and the stallion had been through, they deserved to be together. I was cheering so hard when Alec's mom stood up for them and made those mean guys leave. I loved the part where Alec decided to call the stallion "The Black" – such a cool name!Chapter 6: The Red StallionOh no, a new problem! This chapter introduced a rival for The Black – the mean red stallion that lived on the farm next door.I got nervous when The Black tried to break out of his corral to go challenge the red stallion. I didn't want him to get hurt! But it was also kind of awesome how brave and powerful The Black was, not backing down from the other stallion. I can't wait to see if they'll end up fighting each other. This book just keeps getting more and more exciting!Overall, I'm really loving "The Black Stallion" so far. The adventures that Alec and The Black have been through are so amazing, and their friendship is really special. I can't wait to see what other challenges and adventures they'll face in the next few chapters!篇6Here are reader responses for chapters 1-6 of "The Black Stallion" in the voice of an elementary school student, approximately 2000 words:Chapter 1 Reader Response:Wow, I was on the edge of my seat reading the first chapter of "The Black Stallion"! The story starts off with a young boy named Alec Ramsay traveling by ship across the ocean with hisdad. But then a huge storm comes and wrecks the ship! Alec gets tossed overboard into the freezing waters along with a wild black stallion. I can't even imagine how terrifying that must have been. But Alec doesn't give up - he clings to a piece of the wreckage and is able to make it to a deserted island with the stallion. I'm amazed he survived such a scary shipwreck! I wonder what will happen to them stranded on the island. Will they be rescued? Will the stallion stay wild or will Alec be able to tame him? I can't wait to read more!Chapter 2 Reader Response:In chapter 2, Alec and the black stallion have to figure out how to survive on the deserted island. At first, the stallion is very aggressive towards Alec, trying to kick and bite him. I would be so frightened of that huge, powerful horse! But Alec is patient and slowly earns the stallion's trust by leaving him food and water. Eventually the stallion lets Alec come closer without trying to attack him. I think it's cool how their relationship slowly develops through Alec's kindness and persistence. Although the island has fresh water and fruit to eat, I can't imagine how hard it would be to live there long-term without any shelter or supplies. They are going to need to be rescued soon! I hope a ship comes for them.Chapter 3 Reader Response:Things are getting more intense for Alec and the black stallion stranded on the island in chapter 3! A wild pack of wolves Shows up and starts threatening them. The stallion bravely protects Alec by fighting off the wolves. He's such a powerful, courageous horse. I was on the edge of my seat reading about the vicious wolf attack! But the stallion is able to drive the wolves away for now. Although Alec is thankful to the stallion for protecting him, he realizes they won't be safe on the island with the wolves around. So Alec gets the idea to tame and train the stallion so they can work together and increase their odds of being rescued. It's such a smart plan! I can't wait to see if Alec can actually tame the wild, fierce stallion. That can't be easy!Chapter 4 Reader Response:In chapter 4, we finally get to see Alec start working to tame and train the black stallion - and boy is it challenging! The stallion is so powerful and stubborn. He tries to buck Alec off and refuses to let him ride at first. I don't blame the stallion for being so resistant after living wild his whole life. But Alec is extremely patient, gently working with the stallion every day through kindness rather than force or punishment. He very slowly gets the stallion used to wearing a saddle and bridle. I was cheeringwhen Alec finally got to ride the stallion for a little bit by the end of the chapter! Their relationship is growing stronger through the training process. I think Alec's calm determination and the special bond they've formed will eventually help the stallion become tamed. I can't wait to see more of their training adventures!Chapter 5 Reader Response:The training of the black stallion continues to progress in chapter 5 - but not without some scary setbacks! At one point the stallion gets spooked and takes off running with Alec on his back. Alec has to struggle to stay on during the wild gallop across the island. I can't imagine how terrifying that must have been to be riding a huge, powerful stallion out of control like that. You could get thrown off and get severely injured or even killed! But Alec is able to regain control before the stallion reaches the cliffs. Phew, that was a close call! I admire how brave and determined Alec is to not give up on training the stallion despite setbacks like that. By the end of the chapter, the stallion seems to fully accept Alec as his rider and master. I have a feeling their survival chances just increased a lot now that they are a unified team.Chapter 6 Reader Response:A ship finally arrives to rescue Alec and the stallion in chapter 6! I was so relieved when I read that a crew spotted them from their boat. I can't imagine how excited yet nervous Alec must have felt to finally see people again after being stranded for so long. I was holding my breath when the stallion got spooked by the crew at first and wouldn't let them approach. After everything Alec went through to tame him, I was worried the stallion might remain wild and untrusting of humans. But their strong bond allowed Alec to calm the stallion down so the crew could rescue them safely. I'm sure Alec was both overjoyed and sad to leave their island home behind. So many intense experiences and life-or-death challenges faced there with the stallion by his side. Although I'll miss reading about their island adventures, I can't wait to see what new ones await them now that they've been rescued! Where will they go? Will Alec be able to keep the stallion? This book is such a thrilling ride so far!。
