It not only affects our everyday life, but may also threaten people's lives. The three selections presented above are typical examples.Quite a few things give rise to the traffic problem. In spite of the large-scale construction of roads and highways, there is still much room for improvement, because of the ever increasing number of cars these years. What's worse, some drivers, cyclists and pedestrians do not think it vital to obey traffic rules. In fact, traffic rules are part of the rules and regulations closely related to public order. Without them, people could not enjoy harmony or the country would be in chaos. But rules alone don't secure an orderly society. It is the people who obey the rules that matter. It is everybody's duty to observe them to keep our society in order and being on the right track.

Recently there has been a heated discussion online.__________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ One possible version:Recently there has been a heated discussion online. So concerned are lots of people about the discussion on whether the girl should hit her mother. As the picture shows, 9,923 people support the girl. They think it's because of the high pressure from her mother. They're even wondering why her mother called her back to Chongqing when she had a job in Shanghai. She should have her own life. But 14,219 people are against her, who hold an opinion that she is lacking in morality. They are angry that she doesn't know how to respect the old. Even though she didn't agree with her mother, she could make efforts to persuade her mother. In my opinion, I don't appreciate what the girl did. She can solve this problem in many ways. Above all, hitting her mother is pletely wrong.

Society may pressure you into grabbing(抓住)whatever you can get. If you do not have a set path that must be taken, then you have the opportunity to choose something you will not only be paid for doing, but enjoy. One of the best ways of finding a suitable career is to determine your personality type. It may seem obvious that the creative type does not really find much pleasure in a job as a butcher(屠夫)or dry cleaning assistant, and that weak character may not find happiness in a career based on teaching or leading a team.To find the best job for your personality type, the first step is to know what and who you really are. If you already know your style, you can search for suitable employment; however, if you are uncertain, there are ways that will help you discover who and what you are. For example, an employment centre, a career adviser or an online quiz can help you.Taking my own situation for example, am definitely(明确地)a creative type. Besides, I prefer to be my own boss or, if I cannot, at least I want to rely on a boss I truly both respect and admire. I do not like telling people what to do, or being told what to do. I do not relate well to regular 9-5 hours. I do not feel satisfied being paid a high wage for a bad job. I feel much happier at home. Combining my creativity, independence, and desire to stay at home, my ideal(理想的)career would be running home-operated business involving(涉及)creativity. I actually happen to have chosen this solution; I am a writer, poet, author and publisher. I have suited my career to my personality type.(1)The first paragraph is used as a(n)________.A.exampleB.introductionC.conclusionD.contrast(2)The author thinks in order to find the right job we should first know about ________.A.something about employment centreB.online job marketsC.our personality typesD.the economic situation(3)Which of the following statements about the author is TRUE?A.He prefers to rely on his colleagues.B.He dislikes home-operated businesses.C.He likes giving orders to others and doesn't like facing orders.D.He doesn't like the usual way of doing things.(4)What is the main idea of the passage?A.Creativity and chances of success.B.Jobs and your peace of mind.C.Following the set path and making life easier.D.Finding the right job for your personality type.3.Parents play an important role in determining the educational success of their children. Their expectations for how well their children do at school and the environment at home are important determinants of achievement. Family influence is great in helping a child to realize academic accomplishment.Children who live in homes in which the parents are academically successful, once they become parents, often feel that their job is to prepare their children to do likewise in school. They take their kids on vacation, but they spend time learning about local history at museums. They also may ensure that their kids have time to study and understand the importance of school attendance. School is a priority for these families, and children who live in them grow up with a focus on learning.Parents who have high academic expectations and those who adopt a more authoritarian parenting style for their children often have children who do well in school. However, it can be dangerous to set expectations too high, such that a child feels overly pressured to perform. These types of expectations should be balanced with those that relate directly to the child, so that they will be able to personally set and reach goals, work hard and to enjoy being curious.Parents who support their children in their academic work also positively influence their performance. This takes different forms for families. Some parents might help with homework, or volunteer at school. Others provide a quiet study space, a consistent bedtime or a positive example of hard work and discipline. How parents show support for their child's academic career varies by family and by culture. No matter how itis shown, it is a vital part of a child's academic success to know their parents are behind their efforts.A love of reading in a household can also positively affect a child's academic attainment. Learning new vocabulary, and how to predict, understand and respond to a text are just some of the skills children can learn at home that are important in an academic environment. Reading books, newspapers, magazines and websites with children on a regular basis sets them up for success at school.(1)According to the text, parents have an important effect on children's ______.A.family lifeB.academic achievementC.next generationD.expectations of their jobs(2)What may a family with academically successful parents put first?A.Family travel.B.Historic knowledge.C.Attending school.D.Going to museums.(3)How may academically successful parents influence their children's academic achievement?A.They ask their children to solve problems alone.B.They may ask teachers to their houses to teach.C.They put great pressure on their children.D.They can offer help to their children in different ways.(4)What could be the best title for the text?A.Family influence on children's academic achievementB.Benefits of academically successful parentsC.What parents can do to help their childrenD.How to improve the relation in a family4. DIn recent years, veganism(素食主义)has become one of the fastest-growing lifestyle trends in the world. According to HuffPost, more than 3 million people in the United States are vegans. In the UK, about 542,000 people have chosen veganism over the past decade. What is driving this growth in veganism? One reason may be that people want to protect the environment. Producing meat and dairy products is known to be stressful for the environment. According to a 2013 study by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, global meat manufacturing causes about 18 percent of the world's greenhouse gas emissions. This figure is higher than all the world's cars, trains and planes combined. According to BBC News, another reason is that many of today's young people believe it's wrong to kill animals for food. Jess Murray, 22, a student at University College London, said she chose to become vegan when she realized that eating animals is a choice people make, rather than something we must do to survive."Becoming vegan was an ethical(伦理的)decision, " she told the Guardian. For many people, veganism simply means eating no meat, cheese or eggs, but going animal-free also applies to fashion and manufacturing. For example, leather is used to make shoes and clothing. Every year more than a billion animals, from cows to horses to snakes, are killed to make leather products from their skins. Now, many brands are looking for other materials. The sports brand Puma, for example, has made shoes out of pineapple leaves. Tesla, the US car maker, is said to be removing animal-based leather from its seats. Earlier this year, US singer Lady Gaga created the vegan makeup brand Haus Laboratories. On the brand's Instagram account, it says: “ Cruelty-free and vegan, because we love animals and you. " So, if you're interested in protecting animals and saving the environment, you might want to give veganism a try.(1)Which can be the reason for people being vegetarians according to the text?A.They want to survive on earth.B.They pursue fashion in the world.C.They try to adopt a green lifestyle.D.They worry about their own health.(2)What can you infer from the last paragraph?A.Going animal-free means letting go of the animals.B.Veganism simply means boycotting goods from animal skins.dy Gaga created her makeup brand out of pineapple leaves.D.Many brands are seeking substitutes for animal-based leather.(3)What's the author's attitude to veganism?A.Supportive.B.Ambiguous.C.Skeptical.D.Prejudiced.(4)From which part of a newspaper is the text probably taken?A.Science.B.Fashion.C.Entertainment.D.Life.5. Most of us spend our lives seeking the natural world. We go fishing, sit in the garden, have a picnic, live in the suburbs or go to the seaside. The most popular leisure activity in Britain is going for a walk. When joggers jog, they don't run the streets. Every one of them tend to go to the park or the river. But despite this, our children are growing up nature deprived (剥夺)).1 spent my boyhood climbing trees. These days, children are robbed of these ancient freedoms, due to problems like crime, traffic, the loss of the open spaces and strange new ideas about what is best for children, that is to say, things that can be bought, rather than things that can be found. The truth is to be found elsewhere. A study in the US: families had moved to better bousing and the children were assessed(评估)for ADHD﹣attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (多动症).Those whose accommodation had more natural views showed an improvement of 19%; those who had the same improvement in material surroundings but no nice view improved just 4%.ADHD is one of the great problems of modem childhood. One study after another indicates that contact with nature gives huge benefits to ADHD children. However, we spend money on drugs rather than on green places. The life of old people is measurably better when they have access to nature. The increasing concern for the growing population of old people is in quality rather than quantity of years. And study after study finds that a garden is the single most important thing in finding that quality. Even problems with crime and aggressive behavior are reduced when there is contact with the natural world. We need the wild world. It is essential to our well﹣being, our health and our happiness.(1)According to the author, people enjoy________to seek nature.A.jogging on the streetB. shopping in the supermarketC.sitting in the gardenD. running in the gym.(2)From the second paragraph, we can see that________.A.children probably spend less time in nature nowadaysB.adults deprive the children of their rights to approach natureC.climbing trees will certainly do good to the childrenD.children tend to be happier as a result of their material satisfaction.(3)In what way do people benefit from their contact with nature?________A.Children with ADHD can be cured.B.Children's performance at school is greatly improved.C.A garden nearby improves the quality of old people's life.D.Problems with crime and violent behavior will easily be solved..(4)What is the main idea of this passage?________A.Nature treats children with ADHD.Access to nature improves our life.B.Getting close to nature reduces crime.C.Man can't live without natural areas.6.DOver 400 human footprints preserved in volcanic sediment(沉淀物)provide a sign at social lifeamong ancient hunter-gatherers. The impressions, found in northern Tanzania, add up to Africa's largest collection of ancient human footprints, say evolutionary biologist Kevin Hatala of Chatham University in Pittsburgh and colleagues. People walked across a muddy layer of volcanic ashes dating to between 19,100 and 5,760 years ago, the researchers reported on May 14 in Scientific Reports. Dating of a thin rock layer that partly overlaps(重叠)the sediment narrows the footprints' age to about 12,000 to 10,000 years ago.Hatala's team analyzed footprint sizes, distances between prints and which way prints pointed. One collection of tracks was made by 17 people walking southwest. Comparisons with modern prints suggest that this group consisted of fourteen women, two men and one young boy.The women may have been searching for foods while a few males visited or accompanied them, the researchers infer. Some present-day hunter-gatherers form largely female food-gathering groups. The study is "a nice piece of work", although it's hard to specify what people were doing, says geologist Matthew Bennett of Bournemouth University in Poole, England. Many more sets of footprint tracks would be needed to argue convincingly that hunter-gatherers at that time had female food-gathering groups, Bennett says. And it would still be unknown if the women were gathering plants or hunting prey. Other footprint sites present especially promising opportunities for studying ancient behavior, he says. He is involved in work in New Mexico that has uncovered tens of thousands of footprints of humans and other creatures from more than 10,000 years ago. Early results suggest that humans there hunted giant sloths(树獭). Bennett expects those prints will yield more insights into Stone Age hunting.(1)What does the underlined word"impressions" in the first paragraph mean?A.Thoughts about people or things.B.Collections of volcanic ashes.C.Marks left by creatures or something.D.Behaviors of imitating someone.(2)What do the newly-discovered footprints suggest?A.Ancient hunters were socially organized.B.Ancient male hunters were admired by females.C.Female food-gathering groups were obviously formed.D.Males played a more important role in finding food than females.(3)What can we learn according to the last paragraph?A.The females gathered plants or hunted prey in the Stone Age.B.The footprint tracks have proved female food-gathering groups existed.C.The footprint sites provide a good chance to further study ancient behavior.D.The footprints will hardly influence our understanding of Stone Age hunting.(4)What's the best title of the text?A.How Ancient Hunters Gathered FoodB.What Ancient Hunan Footprints Were LikeC.What Ancient Human Footprints Tell UsD.How Ancient Food-Gathering Groups Cooperated7.The baby monkey is much more developed at birth than the human baby. Almost from the moment it is born, the baby monkey can move around and hold tightly to its mother. During the first few days of its life the baby will approach and hold onto almost any large, warm, and soft object in its environment, particularly if that object also gives it milk. After a week or so, however, the baby monkey begins to avoid newcomers and focuses its attentions on "mother"—the real mother or the mother-substitute(母亲替代物).During the first two weeks of its life warmth is perhaps the most important psychological(心理的)thing that a monkey mother has to give to its baby. The Harlows, a couple who are both psychologists, discovered this fact by offering baby monkeys a choice of two types of mother-substitutes—one covered with cloth and one made of bare wire. If the two artificial mothers were both the same temperature, the little monkeys always preferred the cloth mother. However, if the wire model was heated, while the cloth model was cool, for the first two weeks after birth the baby monkeys picked the warm wire mother-substitutes as their favorites. There after they switched and spent most of their time on the more comfortable cloth mother. Why is cloth preferable to bare wire? Something that the Harlows called contact(接触的)comfort seems to be the answer, and a most powerful influence it is. Baby monkeys spend much of their time rubbing against their mothers' skins, putting themselves in as close contact with the parent as they can. Whenever the young animal is frightened, disturbed, or annoyed, it typically rushes to its mother and rubs itself against her body. Wire doesn't "rub" as well as does soft wire cloth. Prolonged(长时间的)"contact comfort" with a cloth mother appears to give the babies confidence and is much more rewarding to them than is either warmth or milk.According to the Harlows, the basic quality of a baby's love for its mother is trust. If the baby is put into an unfamiliar playroom without its mother, the baby ignores the toys no matter how interesting they might be. It screams in terror and curls up into a fury little ball. If its cloth mother is now introduced into the playroom, the bay rushes to it and holds onto it for dear life. After a few minutes of contact comfort, it obviously begins to feel more secure. It then climbs down from the mother-substitute and begins to explore the toys, but often rushes back for a deep embrace(拥抱)as if to make sure that its mother is still there and that all is well. Bit by bit its fears of the new environment are gone and it spends more and more time playing with the toys and less and less time holding on to its "mother."(1)Psychologically, what does the baby monkey desire most during the first two weeks of its life?A.Warmth.k.C.Contact.D.Trust.(2)After the first two weeks of their life, baby monkeys prefer the cloth mother to the wire mothebecause the former is ________.rger in sizeB.closer to themC.less frightening and less disturbingD.more comfortable to rub against(3)What does the baby monkey probably gain from prolonged "contact comfort"?A.attentionB.softnessC.confidenceD.interest(4)It can be inferred that when the baby monkey feels secure, ________.A.it frequently rushes back for a deep embrace when exploring the toysB.it spends more time screaming to get rewardsC.it is less attracted to the toys though they are interestingD.it cares less about whether its mother is still aroundA.Reducing the grecnhouse eflect.B.Increasing farmers' incomes.C.Improving soil fertility.D.Producing charcoal.(3)What is the third paragraph mainly about?A.The process of making terra preta.B.The disadvantage of the greenhouse effect.C.The importance of fighting the greenhouse effect.D.The benefit of using charcoal to make terra preta.(4)What can we infer about terra preta?A.It is difficult to make.B.It can trap heat from the sun.C.It could be of greater use in the future.D.It has been widely used around the world.1.

1.I actually believe that we would win the football match now if you on the left leg last month.A.weren’t injured B.hadn’t been injuredC.haven’t been injured D.wouldn’t be injured答案 B解析句意为:我确实认为如果上个月你的左腿没有受伤的话,我们现在就能赢下这场足球比赛了。
2.Tom will take charge of the meeting this afternoon, and he is asking once held the meeting for suggestions.A.who B.thatC.what D.whom答案 A解析句意为:汤姆将负责今天下午的会议,他正在征求曾主持过这种会议的人的建议。
3.Peking Duck,as one of the best ways to eat the delicious duck, has earned a reputation both at home and abroad.A.regarded B.regardingC.being regarded D.to be regarded答案 A解析句意为:北京烤鸭——被认为是最好的品尝美味鸭肉的方式之一——已经享誉国内外。
