定语从句的用法:定语从句在句中作定语,修饰名词、代词,被修饰的名词、词组或代词叫先行词。
定语从句在先行词后,由关系代词(who, whom, whose, that, which)或关系副词引导。
现阶段主要掌握关系代词的用法。
1.who, whom & that 这些词代替的先行词是表示人的名词或代词,在从句中做
主语或宾语。
e.g. He is the man that /who wants to see you. 他就是想见你的人。
(who/ that 在从句中作主语) He is the man that/ whom I saw yesterday. 他就是我昨天见到的人。
(whom/that在从句中作宾语)
2.which & that 它们所替代的先行词是表示事物的名词或代词,在从句中作主
语或宾语等。
e.g. The book that / which I am reading is about China.
