Parker Zander’s experience in designing and building heat regenerated dryers over many years has resulted in the use of high capacity and longservice life desiccant. The mosteconomical form of desiccantbed is to combine the correctproportions of water resistantwith high efficiency desiccant. The filling of desiccant in thenew dryers means low energycosts, a long service life and astable dew-point.Regeneration ... of vacuum heat regeneratedadsorption dryers is the resultof continuous research anddevelopment based on years ofexperience in user installationsworldwide. The name Parker Zander issynonymous with the best incompressed air treatment. This level ofquality is reflected in the pres-sure dew point, which can beboth measured and tested. The designated pressure dewpoint of a CONCEPT WVM dryersremains continuously constant,so important in today’s sys-tems. The constant dew pointis achieved by using two layersof desiccant and regenerationunder vacuum. The vacuum regeneration withActive Heating and IntensiveCooling defines the new stand-ard for heat regenerated dryers. The user friendly system control installed on the CONCEPT WVM dryers ensures a reliable opera-tion of the unit. The units have a perfect set of system relevant signals. These signals define and control the active heating and active cooling phases in the regeneration cycle within very exact tolerances. The result of these fine tolerances is that thedryer adapts exactly to the work-ing pattern in the plant, thus the new dryer only uses the energy required for its working condi-tions. With the new TFT touch panel the user has an excellent overview through the imple-mented flow diagram, with all data at a glance. The clear menu structure and the touch surfaceensure a very easy operation. The Parker Zander vacuumsystem reduces the regeneration pressure. Only heating under vacuum guarantees the greatest desiccant activation. Regenera-tion under vacuum also means a low steam vapour temperature. Active heating results in less en-ergy requirement and the benefit of less cooling.Active heatingSystem ControlIntensive CoolingCooling air flows in the same direction as the dried com-pressed air. This preventsmoisture loading at the outlet of the dryer. The advantages of this system are lower temperatures, shorter cooling times, low energy requirements, a low preloading with water, a short cooling time and no purge air consumptionfor cooling.Adsorption DryerConcept WVM1 2 3 456 79 1011Adsorption Dryer Concept WVMLow Energy Costssavings of 25 % are possible compared to conven-tional systems. Two layered desiccant bedbalanced desiccant between water resistance and high efficiency water retention for optimum dew point stability.Active heating under vaccummeans that the vapourisation temperature is 98 °C.

Clean, Dry Compressed Air K-MT 1 - 8Adsorption DryersWhether a compressed air user wants tocontrol the growth of micro-organisms(essential for direct and in-direct contactapplications in the food, beverage &pharmaceutical industries), ensureair used for critical applications /instrumentation is free from watercontamination or has external pipingwhere low ambient temperature cancause condensation, adsorption dryersare the go to dryer technology. There are many different adsorption dryertechnologies available and whilst they allreduce water from the compressed air inthe same way, they differ in the way theyregenerate the desiccant material.Heatless Adsorption DryersThe simplest and most common methodused to regenerate the adsorbentdesiccant material is the ‘heatless’method (so called as it does not use heatfor desiccant regeneration).Using a proportion of the clean, dryprocess air for regeneration, heatlessdryers typically have the lowest capitalcosts of all adsorption dryer types (due tothe simplicity of the heatless design).Being very robust and having fewercomponents, they typically have thelowest maintenance cost of all theadsorption technologies.Heatless dryers are available to suit allcompressed air fl ow rates from small tolarge, whereas the more complicatedregeneration methods are often onlyavailable for higher fl ow rates due to costand complexity of the designs.Advantages• Parker K-MT dryers provide a constant outlet dewpoint in accordance with ISO8573-1 classes 1, 2 or 3 for water vapour• Parker K-MT dryers provide an outlet dewpoint which inhibits the growth of micro-organisms (allowing their effi cient reduction using fi ltration)• Parker K-MT dryers use clean, dry purge air for regeneration, eliminating any risk of damage to the adsorption bed or re-contamination of the downstream compressed air• No heat is used for regeneration; therefore, no insulation is required and loss of dewpoint on column changeover due to ineffi cient cool down is eliminated • Parker K-MT dryers include Parker OIL-X High Effi ciency Coalescing pre-fi ltration and General Purpose Dry Particulate post fi ltration as standard• Fitted with Parker Multitronic electronic control with the option of dewpoint display and dewpoint switching Energy Saving TechnologyProduct Selection & Correction FactorsFor correct operation, compressed air dryers must be sized using for the maximum (summer) inlet temperature, maximum (summer) ambient temperature, minimum inlet pressure, required outlet dewpoint and maximum flow rate of the installation. To select a dryer, first calculate the MDC (Minimum Drying Capacity) using the formula below then select a dryer from the flow rate table above with a flow rate equal to or above the MDC.Minimum Drying Capacity = System Flow x CFIT x CFAT x CFMIP x CFODISO8573-1 Classifications when used with Parker domnick hunter OIL-X pre / post filtrationInlet flow rate relating to 1 bar(a) and 20 °C;relating to the suction performance of thecompressor, compression at 7 bar(g) and35 °C dryer inlet temperature, at 25 °C ambienttemperature, 60 % relative humidity.H©2020 Parker Hannifin Corporation.
