Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. It’s my great honor and pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you.

I have been ready to begin this representation with six parts: Analysis of the teaching material, the teaching methods, teaching aids, the learning strategies, and the teaching procedure and blackboard design.

Part 1 Analysis of Teaching Material

The content of my lesson is New Senior English for China Book2, Unit1. This unit is about cultural relics protection. Today my lesson is the reading part of this unit. By studying of this text, I will help students to know about the history of the Amber Room and motivate the Ss’ interest in some cultural relics in the world. At the same time, let the students learn how to give their opinions on protecting our precious cultural relics and rebuilding the lost cultural relics. (As we all know, reading belongs to the input during the process of the language learning. The input has great effect on output, such as speaking and writing.) Therefore, this lesson plays a great important part in this unit. In this lesson, I will mainly help students to understand this passage and practice some reading skills such as skimming, scanning and so on.

A、Teaching Aims

According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus (新课程标准和教学大纲), and after studying the teaching material, I set the teaching aims from three dimensions:

1.Knowledge objects (语言目标:语音,词汇,语法,功能,话题)

(1) the usage of the important words and expressions

(2) important sentence patterns

The amber which was selected had a beautiful yellow-brown color honey.

It was also a treasure decorated with gold and jewels, which took the country’s best artists about ten years to make.

(1) After this lesson, the Ss have a general knowledge of the history of Amber Room

(1) After completing the task, the Ss be more interested in cultural relics in the world.

(2) Ss will have the awareness of protecting our cultural relics.

B、the Important and Difficult Points

Based on the requirement of the syllabus.

The important points are the important new words and phrases such as amazing, design, decorate, belong to.

The difficult points are how to get the main idea by scanning and understand the text and some difficult sentences.

Part 2 Teaching Methods

As is known to us all, a good teaching method requires that the teacher should help Ss develop good sense of the English language. For achieving these teaching aims, (after the analysis of the teaching material and teaching aims,) I will use the Grammar translation method and Task-based Language Teaching.

Ⅱ. Reality of students’ learning:

The students in grade 1 are active in thoughts and are curious about the outside world. However, they lack in critical and deep thought about a certain thing. As to reading, they usually lack scientific reading skills in doing reading comprehension.

Ⅲ. Analysis of the teaching material:

The topic of this unit is cultural relics. Students are quite interested in topics about different cultures around the world. This is the second period of the whole unit. As a reading class, the passage mainly talks about the history of the amber room (how it was made, sent as a gift, lost and rebuilt).According to the new national curriculum, when teaching reading, much emphasis should be put on training the students’ reading skills.

1) Students are required to master the key words and phrases occurred in the passage (e.g. amazing, decorate, belong, in return, less than etc.)

2) Students are required to learn the attributive clause and acquire the sentence pattern.

Students are required to go through all paragraphs one by one. At the same time, some detailed questions are shown on the screen for them to find the answers. Questions:

(1) For what purpose were the ancient Greek Olympics held every four years? (2) What events did the ancient Greek Olympics have? (3) What did the Frenchman wish to renew?

(4) According to the Frenchman, what would the Olympic Games bring about? (5) Did the Frenchman succeed in renewing the Olympics?

It’s a great pleasure for me to have an opportunity to talk some of my teaching ideas. My test number is 42.Today my topic is the second English lesson for Senior High students—Computers(part 1 warming up and pre-reading)

下面我将从说教材、说学情,说教法和学法、说教学过程、说板书设计五个方面来对本课进行说明。

第一,说教材(Understanding of this lesson)

1.Analysis of the teaching material

本文以“计算机”为中心话题,内容涉及计算机的发展历史、计算机的应用等,其中还谈到包括计算机在内的几种信息技术的载体、智能计算机人的发明等,激发学生了解电脑的产生和发展过程的兴趣。因此,它在本书中有十分重要的作用。

在依据教学大纲的规定和新课程标准的要求,并根据教材的内容和学生的实际情况,结合本人的教学体验,我确定本课的教学目标如下:(1)知识目标(Aims of Knowledge)

确定该重点的依据:单词及语法是学习理解这篇课文的首要因素。

(2)Teaching difficult points:

难点是使学生能按时间先后顺序描述一件事并且是学生了解和掌握现在完成时的被动语态的用法。

确定该难点的依据:通过计算机的发展史来掌握如何描述一件事,并且使用正确的语法,是建立在理解课文的基础上的,因此有一定的难度

二、说学情

假设今天我教授的是南昌市某所普通高中高一年级的学生。计算机这一话题虽然有趣,但本单元所选语言材料属于科普类说明文,内容较为抽象,文章中也不乏一些专业术语,对高一学生来说有一定难度。

三、说教法和学法(Teaching method&leaning method)

1、教法

(1)采用多媒体辅助教学法,播放图片供学生浏览,激发学生学习兴趣。

(2)采用问题引导教学法,引导学生说出各种不同的电脑用途。

(3)采用小组讨论教学法提高学生的交流沟通能力。

(4)采用泛读和精读想结合的方法训练学生的阅读理解能力。Fast reading and careful reading to train the Ss’reading ability and understand the passage better。

2、学法

整个单元多以计算机为第一人称进行自白,这种拟人的手法使得文章读起来妙趣横生,抽象的专业知识介绍起来也浅显易懂。例如主要阅读篇章一计算机的口吻自述其发展演变的历史以及计算机在当今世界各个领域的运用,能很好地被学生们接受。

四、说教学过程(Teaching procedures)

Step 1 Lead-in导入

此部分利用图片形式呈现计算机的发展演变过程,让学生通过看图讨论来熟悉计算机的发展史。利用多媒体展示有关电脑和机器人的图片:引导学生围绕电脑展开讨论,如电脑的种类、组成以及用途等。

设计这一步骤的目的:一是为了激活学生已有的知识;二是让学生能够熟悉这个话题,熟练他们所读的内容是什么;三是激发兴趣,让学生带着兴趣、带着动机去读;四是要为学生进行后面的阅读做一些语言准备,这里最好便用多媒体,因为多媒体展示图片形象直观,信息量大、速度快,加上是为阅读做准备,时间不能太长,3—4分钟即可。

Step 2 Fast-reading

依此我设计了以下三个步骤对学生进行此方面的训练。

①先是给学生5分钟的时间快速阅读文章,并简单介绍标题“Who A M I”中“I”指的是谁?

有个初步的了解,因文章内容较多,5分钟学生应该能完成。

老师让学生相互讨论,看信息是怎么获取的,老师此时不宜立即给出答案,在讨论过程中学生之间相互交流,相互帮助,老师再从全班获得反馈,这样就可以把“面对全体学生”这一理念落到实处,还可增加他们“合作意识”。

Step 3 Intensive reading

切实掌握语词的意义和用法

详细解释文中的重点词汇、短语和重点句型,如Simplify ,application ,reality sum from …on…,as a result ……any horn,so…that… 等,然后让学生去用这些词或短语去编故事,以便巩固对知识点的学习。

Step 4 Discussion

学生四人一组,话题:Think about what you would have to do if you could not use computers any more.

要学生自由组合是为了照顾学生的情感需要,因为谁都有小圈子,谁都有不愿与之相处的人, 这样学生之间沟通起来更加顺畅,更好的完成讨论。

Step 5 Homework作业

作业是课堂教学活动的延伸。为巩固课上学生所了解和掌握的知识,进一步加深对电脑的认识,我设计了下面的作业:

利用报纸、网络、图书馆等资源查找有关电脑的信息和图片、制作一张海报,尽量用英语宣传电脑在日常生活中的重要性,以及未来的发展趋势。

五、说板书设计( Blackboard Design )

最后一部分是板书,可以说板书是以书面形式对态个课堂的规划和设计这时课堂教学有重要的辅助作用,更是课程凝练的精华。

我的板书分为三块,左边写有关computer的词和英文翻译,中间给出学生对话需要的一些短语,右面作为备用,如必要的提示,困难的单词等

以上,我从教材、说学情、教法学法、教学过程和板书设计五个方面对本课进行了说明,我的说课到此结束,谢谢各位评委老师。

My lesson is from New Senior English for China Book_2 Unit3 Writing part. The main topic is computers, while the writing is about describing an android. By studying this class, Students will enrich imagination in writing and master descriptive words. Writing is a basic skill, it plays a important role for further study.

Secondly, I’d like to state the analysis of students.

Part2 Students

Students are under a stage of growing and developing, they are unique and independent. They have gained basic writing skills. However, they don’t know how to express themselves correctly. Then I will take activities to help them.

According to the new curriculum standard, instruction should change its final goal from teaching knowledge to teaching strategies. I set aims as follows.

Part3 Teaching Aim

1. In Knowledge objects

The Ss can know the words and structure of writing descriptive articles.

2. Ability objects (技能目标:听,说,读,写)

SS can improve their writing skills including drafting and revising skills, and use skills in daily life.

Part4 Key and Difficult Points

Next, I put forward the key points and difficult points. The key point is to master the steps about descriptive writing. The difficult point is how to write it correctly.

Part5 Teaching and Studying methods

In this class, I will use process writing method and cooperative learning method. Part6 Teaching Procedure

Now let’s come into the most important part -Teaching procedure. It consists of five steps.

Step1. Warming up

The first step is warming up. Boys and girls, we have learned detail about computers in the last class. If you have robots, what will they do? Tony, please. Help me finish homework and go to school. Wow, Maybe it’s a dream of most ss. Anyone else? Jerry. Do some cleaning and cooking for me. It’s helpful for your mother. Today, let’s design our own robot.

This step can help them clarify the aims and make them more active.

Pre-writing

In pre-writing step, I will teach the usage of linking words, such as signal, in a way and type. Then they will reading the story about Andy, and write his file. According its model, SS will design their own robot information file. They will exchange design ideas with partners.

This step help them to clarify their writing structure, then they will spend 10 minutes to make a drafting .While they are writing, I will give them some guides: such as pay attention to the tenses, grammars, spellings. These tips can help them do better in writing.

After writing, it comes to self-editing.SS will check their writing according the example on PPT and revise it. Then moves to the peer editing.ss will exchange their writing with partners and give some suggestions to each other. At last, I will ask some of them to show their writing and give them comments.

In this step, three kinds of evaluating and editing can make the writing better and improve their revising ability.

By the end of the class, I will ask some students to sum up what we learned today, then I set homework: go on to revise their writing according to the evaluation and hand in next class, and write a new technology invention used in daily life.

Homework is necessary to consolidate their knowledge and improve their writing speaking. At last, I will talk about my blackboard design.
