Module 6 Unit5- Reading and WritingⅠ. Design Purpose: After this class, students will master some key new words for describing tourist attractions and be able to introduce a tourist attraction, TaiBai Mountain in Xi’an in written form. The class is designed following the principle of processed writing. The lesson consists of four parts. First, read the passage on the textbook to directly feel what a good essay to describe a tourist destination is like. The second part is to analyze the structure and the useful expressions. In the third part, students will write their first draft introducing a local tourist attraction. The last part is the peer evaluation and teacher’s feedbacks.Ⅱ. Teaching Content Analysis: The teaching content is from New Senior English for China Student’s Book 6, Unit5. This is the last part of this unit in which students are supposed to write to introduce and describe a tourist destination in China.Ⅲ. Students Analysis: The target students are in their second year in high school. They have already laid a relatively solid foundation in comprehensive skills of English. In the previous classes of this unit, students have learned about the power ofnature from reading passages about volcanoes and volcanologists. Before, they may find volcanoes are very dangerous, but now they have realized volcano can also be interesting and exciting.
