This reading passage introduces the students to two unbalanced diets through the story of Wang Peng and Yong Hui. Food at one restaurant contains to much fat while another one contains little energy-giving food. It is important for students to know about the two extremes and avoid them.

The Ss are very familiar and interested in many kinds of food, as well as the good habits of keeping fit, but they have trouble in understanding the reading passage and they actually don’t know what the skimming and scanning strategies are. So learning strategies instruction is necessary.
Get students to read words attentivelyand correct mistakes.
Give some relative words and encourage students to show their opinions actively.
Guide students to
