Well, you're going to need to get really good grades in science classes like biology to get into a good university for that. So you'll be super focused on understanding things like anatomy, physiology, and zoology. You might join an animal club or volunteer at an animal shelter to get experience. Basically, having that goal will motivate you to work really hard and develop all the skills you need.Or imagine your dream is to play professional soccer. You'll spend hours and hours practicing dribbling, passing, shooting - doing whatever it takes to become an elite player. You'll join competitive teams, go to special training camps during school breaks, watch footage of the pros to analyze their techniques. The goal of going pro will be like a fire burning inside you, pushing you to outwork everyone else.Another important reason to have big goals is that it teaches you to never give up when things get hard. I'm sure you can imagine that pursuing a big dream like becoming an astronaut or the President isn't going to be easy. There will be lots of obstacles, failures, and setbacks along the way. But if you keep focused on that ultimate goal, you'll develop the perseveranceand resilience to pick yourself back up every time you get knocked down.For instance, say you really want to be a famous musician one day. You might start out taking music lessons and your teacher tells you you're just not very talented. Or you enter a talent show and bomb on stage because you got really nervous. Those would be pretty discouraging experiences, right? It would be easy to just quit and give up on your dream. But if being a successful musician is your big goal, you'll look at those failures as learning opportunities and motivation to work even harder on your craft. All the greatest musicians had to overcome a ton of rejection and self-doubt when they were starting out!Finally, big dreams are important because pursuing them leads to such an exciting, fulfilling life.
