Teaching Objectives:

1. To get some information from the listening materials.

2. Be able to understand some instructions and draw the route,and develop the ability

of extensive listening.

3. Be able to talk about how to get to the specific place.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Lead-in

Before class,I’ll let students watch a video about asking and finding the

way.Then ask students to say something about the video.

Tell them that English is very important and they should learn English well to

help more people.

Step 2: Presentation

1. Let students speak up some traffic signs and say what they are doing in the

picture.

Teach them walk past,walk to ,corner,etc.

Step 3: Practising

1. Listening. Here are some simple instructions,listen to the recording and tick

the correct boxes. Students read after the recording and describe the other

picture.

2. Pair work. Give them a map,first I give them some instructions and students

tell me where I am.Then ask them to work in pairs.One gives the way,the

other guesses.

Step 4: Practising

1. Before listening,give students some advice about listening.

2. Before listening,read through these sentences quickly.Listen to the

recording,and put the sentences in the correct order.

3. Check their answers together.

4. Read the instructions together.

Step 5: Presentation

1.Play a guessing game.

2.Listen to the recording and find out where the treasure is. Teach them to find

the key word ‘where’.

3.Listen again and draw the route on the map.

4.Check their route together.Say how to get to the treasure together.

5.If possible ,ask some students to come to the front to point the map and say it.

Step 6.Speak up

1.Listen to the dialogue and choose the correct answer. First try to find the key

word ‘when’.

2.Read after the recording and pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.

3. Make up a new dialogue about asking and finding the way.Maybe we can use

the dialogue on Page 50 as a model.

4.If possible, ask some pairs to act out the dialogue.

Step 7.Homework

1.Do some translation.

2.Find out another route to find the treasure.
