浅谈英汉新词新语的产生及其翻译方法【摘要】论述了英汉新词新语的概念，并以实例说明了英汉新词新语的产生途径、构词特点及翻译方法【关键词】英汉新词新语、产生、翻译语言是一个开放的系统,它随社会的不断发展变化而不断发展变化;语言是社会变迁的晴雨表,在不断发展变化的语言各要素中,语言又是最活跃\最敏感\最具代表性\最具开放性同时也最具时代意义的要素,新词新语的不断涌现就充分显示了这一特点.在我们日常生活中,各行各业随时都可以出现一些新事物新现象,人们对客观外界也会不断产生一些新认识新发现,因此每一个历史时期都有许多反映当时事物和现象以及人们思想认识的词语,这些词语在那段特定的历史时期内都曾属于新词新语的行列.经过一段时间应用之后,有些被沿用到我们的词典词汇之中,而有些由于时间长了,便退出了新词新语的行列.一般来说,新词新语是要有时间和范围限制的,必须是在近期内产生或者被吸收到英语词汇中来的词语.它应包含三个要件:一是从时间上来说,这个词语必须是最近产生的,一般来说时间应限定在近几年或几十年以内；二是必须是被权威英语词典吸收到词典中来的词语；三是那些原有的的词语，因社会发展，增加了新的词义或意义发生转移且被约定俗成。
众所周知，英语属于印欧语系，汉语属于汉藏语系，尽管它们属于两种截然不同的语系，在日新月异的今天，其新词新语的产生途径却是大同小异的。
总体上来说，传统构词法构成新词、旧词衍生新义法、吸收外来词作为新词等是最常见的英汉新词新语的构成方式。
一、传统构词法1、词缀法（affixation）：即将词根与前缀（prefix）或后缀(suffix)相结合形成新词。
例如英语中由前缀cyber-（网络）构成的新词就有很多：cyber-addition（网瘾）、cyber-cafes（网吧）、cyber-girl（女黑客）、cyber-wondering（网上浏览）等。
再如由后缀-gate（门）合成的词语：Watergate水门事件、Billygate比利门丑闻等（换句话说，其实后缀-gate也就是指丑闻的意思）。
总括来说，世界上语⾔可分为两⼤类。
⼀类是⽬前已经没有⼈使⽤的，已不通⾏的，或已被废弃了的，称为“死”语⾔（dead language）；?另⼀类是⽬前仍然通⾏的称为“活”语⾔(living language)。
希伯莱语、古拉丁语等属于前者；⽽汉、英、⽇、西、法、德、俄等语⾔俱属于后者，⽽且是其中最通⾏的⼏种。
“活”的语⾔有⼀个很重要的共通点，就是它们都随着时代的发展⽽变化。
英语上这样，其他的语⾔也是如此。
不过，由于英语在世界上的通⾏度和通⾏范围都胜于其他各种语⾔，所以其变化尤烈。
英语的变化主要表现于语法和词汇两⽅⾯，并籍这两种变化推动发展，构成现代英语的基础。
近⼆⼗年来语⾔学理论最重⼤的进展之⼀是出现了“转换－－⽣成语法”（Transformational-generative Grammar),?这种语⾔学理论的诞⽣使英语进⼀步科学化。
与此同时，⼤量新词汇的涌现使英语的表达⼒加强了，形式丰富了，因⽽使英语更趋⽣活化。
新词汇的产⽣新词汇到底是怎样产⽣的？当⼈们发现新事物，遇到新问题，总结了新经验，发展了新思想的时候，便需要新字和新词来表达，这是因为旧有的、沿袭使⽤的表达⽅法已经不适合或不敷应⽤了。
另⼀⽅⾯，由于以英语作母语及第⼆语⾔的国家遍及全球各洲，⽽各地的风⼟⼈情、⽣活习惯和社会环境⼤有区别，这就必然会出现不同的表达形式和⽤语，⽽这些语汇中不少会被逐渐吸收进经典的英语辞典中，成为语⾔的⼀部分。
在⽬前⽇益进步的社会⾥，科学和技术是新词汇的主要供应者，每当某⼀门科学发展到⼀个新阶段的时候，就有相当⼤⼀批新词涌现。
在这些新词当中，很多是该等科学的专⽤词汇，鲜为外⾏⼈所知晓，只有专科字典及词典才有收栽；但是，其中也有不少常被应⽤和引⽤，结果成了⼀般⼈所喜闻乐道的⽤语。
例如，当美国太空⼈成功地登陆⽤于⽉球时，英语中出现了moonwalk（⽉球漫步），lunar rove(⽉球车)，moonrock（⽉球标本车）等⼀系列有关的⽤词。
英语新词的生成原因及构词方式探究【摘要】词汇作为英语发展的最活跃因子，其敏感度极强，会受各因素影响而不断发生变化。
为了适应社会地发展和进步，英语词语时刻处于发展和演变的状态。
本文将从探讨英语新词生成的原因及构成方式，以达到帮助英语学习者提高英语综合运用能力。

词汇作为语言中最敏感和活跃的因素，其极易受社会发展各因素的影响而不断演变[1]。
此外，语言自身的发展也是词汇不断发生演变的主要原因之一。
随着社会的发展和进步，各种崭新事物层出不穷，人类的思维方式也随之发生变化。
英语词汇受社会政治、经济、文化、及人类思维等因素影响，有些词逐渐在人们的生活中消失，同时很多新词被人们广泛应用。
1.英语新词生成原因1.1社会政治经济发展的原因（1）科学技术的发展及普及应用。
科学技术的发展是促进新词产生的主要因素。
因为新的事物或科技成果出现相应的词汇来表述，新词便应运而生。
受科学技术发展而生成的新词通常为专业术语词汇，多数运用于专业性较强的书籍或词典中。
例如，在计算机技术发展的推动下，、software（软件）、mouse（鼠标）等新词汇产生了；随着互联网技术的发展，在网络世界里出现了Microblog（微博）、flesh Search（人肉搜索）等新词汇；随着医院技术的发展及医学科研领域的拓宽，出现了sub-health（亚健康）、fetal education（胎教）等新词汇。
（2）政治经济的变革及世界性重大事件的发生。
随着世界政治经济格局的变革，社会文化环境不随之发生变化，在日常的沟通交流中新的英语单词产生[2]。
如世界政治格局及重大事件的发生使英语出现了以下新词汇：slump flation （萧条膨胀）、added-value tax（增值税）等。
在金融危机来袭的背景下出现了funemployed、Zombie bank等词语。

无论是新词新义，还是旧词新义，它们都是为了适应新的表达需要而充实入英语词汇库中的。
二、政治形势变化多端世界政治形势变化多端，反映其变化的词汇也不断增加。
说到由政治事件产生的英语新词汇，不能不提“-gate”（“门事件”）。
在1972年美国总统竞选中，共和党争取总统连任委员会有关人员潜入华盛顿的水门大厦（Watergate）--民主党全国委员会总部--而被捕，导致美国历史上第一次总统辞职，这就是有名的“水门事件”，Watergate也就在英语中生了根，watergate成为一个普通名词，指“水门事件式的政治丑闻”。
随后-gate由原来的一个简单意义“门”演变出一个组合形式，表示“类似水门事件的丑闻”。
自1988年牵涉了许多美国政府官员的Irangate（伊朗门事件）后，-gate（“门”）又增添了“政治丑闻”、“个人丑闻（尤其是政界要人的丑闻）”之义，如美国士兵虐待伊拉克战俘的Prisonergate（虐囚门事件），英国查尔斯王子与卡米拉桃色新闻被曝光以后出现的Camillagate（卡米拉丑闻）等。
汉英词汇的近源探秘汉语和英语是当今世界上最广泛使用的两门语言，汉英两种语言的词汇有很多相互关联的地方，其来源也极具深远意义。
今天，我们将研究汉英词汇的近源，探寻其中的秘密。

通过对汉英词汇的深入研究，我们可以更好地了解汉英语言之间的差异性和联系性，为我们理解两种语言的起源、发展及其文化含义提供深入的视角。

As English is the most widely used language, its vocabulary composition also has its unique rules.2.1 Basic Elements of English VocabularyThere are many sources of the English vocabulary, and structure modes by many forms, but the most basic is that they are composed of 26 English letters, these are morphemes. There are three main methods in English word formation: synthesis, derivation and transformation method.(1)SynthesisWhen we make two or more words in synthetic together and form new words, they are called the compound words. It can produce multiple forms of speech, such as compound adjectives, nouns, verbs, adverbs, prepositions and pronouns.(2)DerivationThis is the word root suffix prefix which constitute another with words orwith the intent of the original intent of changes in different words. Derivation of words can change the intent of speech and one of the reasons is that many affixes derived method is through loan terms.(3)Transformation methodWhen we are learning English, it is not difficult to find tha t the English word’s part of speech is very active. We can often see the verbs derived from the nouns, the verbs and the adjectives used as the phenomenon. From the perspective of linguistic point of view, innovation is one of the essential characteristics of the language, so that language users can understand and output the word, phrase, or sentence they have never heard of [1]. New ways of Constituting Contemporary English words are: abbreviated method, onomatopoeia law and inverse Health Act.(1)AbbreviationAs we all know, one of the features of modern English vocabulary is to use the words as simple as we can. And the abbreviation of neologism is a word formation of modern English. English abbreviation formation is common truncation methods, an acronym, blending, the first letter of Pinyin method etc. These abbreviations also are easy for people to remember the meaning of words, so it is widely used and popular.(2) OnomatopoeiaOnomatopoeia is mainly through the description or simulating different sound words and phrases. They are also called onomatopoeic words. Their words composition ways and their pronunciations and meanings are linked. Many onomatopoeic words are simulating the sound what we hear, in order to describe the sound, so the onomatopoeia was created. The linguist Stephen Ullmann had deeply research, so he put the English vocabulary onomatopoeia into the secondary onomatopoeia and basic onomatopoeia.(3) Inverse methodInverse method partially cut a word suffix or cut something which is similar to suffix, thus forming a different kind of class and different part of speech of new words from the original word. While the reverse method first appeared, it was because of the wrong understanding about the derivation, the ending of some words and that some word suffixes are similar. They think that is derived, so they cut it off. After that, it is the formations of new words. Because of its composition with the derivation of the exact opposite, therefore it is called the inverse method.3.Reasons for the Adoption of New Words3.1 Phenomenon FactorsWith the end of the Second World War, the world has entered a period of peace, in the rapid progress of human society, science and technology in the unceasing development, cultural integration deepening. In order to express these new things, some kinds of new words began to appear in the line of sight of people. Language is as a tool for people to express their ideas and exchange, so we have to advance it with the times, and the development of new vocabulary becomes inevitably presence. Webster's New International Dictionary of the English language in the third edition, was published after the supplement of 6000 words, and in 1983 it was published 9000 times, in 1990 and has been published 12000 words. From the data we can find the English vocabulary has about 500 new words appearing into the dictionary in every year [2]. That means, they become a basic word in English. And I think, the causes of new words in contemporary English cannot do development without science and technology, economy, politics and culture.3.2Social FactorsThe change of the society influences language variation. With the changing of times, people of different social classes have also been posted on their labels: from 60's "Hippies" to 70's "Yippies" etc.［3］Social status of women has been changing, until after the feminist movement, advocating gender equality, so that the social status of women is taken seriously. More and more women select to engage in male work done before, such as firefighters. What we used to hear more of is fireman, although the meaning is the male, but is more biased in favor of male, so now fireman in continue to be used at the same time, and more people like to use fire fighter to represent that position. It is true of policeman and police officer, foreman and supervisor etc. There are certain positions which even appear in a special term for female workers. In fact, we are very familiar with the actor and actress. Our literal sense is neutral, but in order to highlight the status of respect for the actress, we willhave an actress which is specifically said. The use of this word there is also very extensive. For equality between men and women, therefore, it has a new term such as the stay-at-home Dad, alpha earner. Social progress at the same time makes people have awareness of the importance of the ecological environment, so the development of environmental protection industry has been calling for higher environmental sounds, which people increasingly pay attention to. In the advertisement, we will find that the products will be labeled in an environment-friendly way and so on. And we can find that in recently years there has been a series of ecological environment appears on the vocabulary. From environmentalist ecology to ecology activist, and then to today, people will be seriously to talk about exorcises, noise pollution or light pollution. The development of education to the field of education also makes a lot of new words appearing , such as TOEFL, GRE, IELTS, CAI. When you're in high school study time more than four years, people will say you are ultra-senior etc.3.3 Scientific and Technological FactorsWith the progress of science and technology, lots of new vocabulary is created by different kinds of areas about science and technology.3.3.1 New AreasWith the end of World War II, science and technology have been playing a very important role in every field, and the most prominent area is the space which the mankind has been involved in and wants to research more about. These areas which has been explored brought a large number of new words, such as moonwalk, quasars, pulsar, and so on. This space always attracted astronomers to explore ceaselessly. And because it was continuing to discover so more new words need to be created to describe space. Ecological field is the field which now has been attracting the world's people to explore; the earth is the survival of the local people's. And because of the development of the human society, the ecological environment constantly was destroyed, for this field deeply to searching is not what o nly scientist’s intent to do, but all the mankind wants to understand and get the solution. Ecology is the study ofthe balance of animals and plants, the relationship between human beings and the environment, as more and more people are concerned about environmental protection and natural resources. A large number of the vocabulary have emerged, such as eco-catastrophe, ecological, consciousness, environ-friendly, visual, pollution, reduction and so on. Because there are a lot of new fields developing over time and were unearthed. Therefore, then there will be more new words appearing due to the development of new fields and emergence of words.3.3.2New Science and Technology Research and DevelopmentFor science and technology research and development, we can estimate that the largest new vocabulary is the military technology. In order to guard national security we never stop on military development, and in some areas, the war is happening all the time. "The jungle war” is from Vietnam to Somalia's "special war", and then to now, Iraq’s "Shock-awe war"[4]. Because of the war we need to have peace, and various military activities have been developed, such as mini-summit, laser-guided missile etc. There are some countries attacking threat nowadays. We can often see terrorist, Terror Attack, Evil Doers, The Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS or ISIL) and so on appearing in newspapers. Our self research and development series of spacecraft, in English use, have a special term, the Shenzhou spacecraft, so when people say Shenzhou they will think this is a spacecraft research and development by China. Today's world is a society of information, research and development of information technology. In addition to bringing us a better life, it also brings many new words such as IT, laser printer, GMS, penputer and so on. When you search for a personal data on the web, you can also say I Google you last night. We know that Google was originally a search engine and browser logo, but now it means more than just a search engine and browser logo, and it also has the meaning of search. As we go out in the outside now, what we can take is plane, bullet train, and mini-car. We usually drink the instant coffee in the morning; cell phone we now used is Smartphone. The words are all in appearance in the recent ten years, due to the progress of science and technology to the emergence of these words. There is anumber of interdisciplinary sciences and technology in development. Although there are new words not so many as military and information technology, their impact can not be underestimated.3.4 Political FactorsThe political factor include the national situation and National Development.3.4.1 National SituationEvery country has its own national policies, emerging from the Europe countries which want to unite together such as European Union, then there is Euro, Euro land and other new vocabulary appearing because of the European Union. And in 1991, after the Soviet Union was split, the Commonwealth of Independent States –CIS appeared. Again we are familiar with the word gate, so we understand it can be expressed the synonymous with meaning of a door, but when it becomes the suffix in some words, it can refers to the scandal. And this word is the most famous in politics is because in 1974 the American president Nixon was on the Watergate scandal, which shocked everybody. And later, the word gate, has gradually replaced scandal to become some big scandal words. It not only expresses the political scandal now, but also some other big scandals. There are political situations between some countries, after World War II, such as cold war and hot war. There are some countries with the same political activity, such as the policy anti-Terrorism War, and Iran suicide bombing and so on. When people find out the world politics pattern and then requirements, there is the emergence of political pluralism. There are people for the world political situation demanding the emergence of political pluralism. States diplomatic activities appear shuttled diplomacy. The turbulent world situation appeared non-aligned and non-alignment. Of course, this kind of new vocabulary is easy to change with the change of heads of the nation or the nation's situation. But this vocabulary will have effects on many English words, thus it will change word meaning, and vocabulary is endowed with new meanings in use.3.4.2 National DevelopmentIf a country wants to grow up to have a real development, it needs to have the cooperation with among other countries. In order for development, they established the WTO, Asia Pacific Economic Council, OPEC, and other organizations. And because when the countries have trade and the trade dispute would appear , so some words would appear about it, such as the trade war. And it is not hard to find out that, a lot of nations want to have development and then they would like to establish some new organizations. And people would like to use the methods for acronyms to call these organizations, but at the beginning of these words, they are just words for people to remember these organizations with a long name, then it is for the sake of convenience, such as the first letter of APEC, EEC and other abbreviations officially attached to the pronunciation of the word. And today, countries in the world are divided into three types, developed countries, developing countries, and the third world countries. After every global economic fluctuation, it also brings a lot of new words for us such as 90's Asia financial crisis, American financial crisis in 2007, and we all known that, these financial crisis is not only affecting the development of these region financial activities, but affecting in different countries’ development of the world, so the emergence of kick-start, lean, rehiring, outplacement and other terms, due to the development of the problem was not alleviated, Occupy Wall Street., then Hong Kong has the Occupy Central With Love and Peace, it was similar to the Occupy Wall Street, so the effecting is around the word. We all have known that our country has reform and opening policy to the outside world. This reform is also called Chinese economic reform, and then China announced the "one country, two system" policy and then we had the SEVEN basic policies. With the development of society, people on the development of the country is more concerned for their own claims and also increased, so there is the emergence of a referendum, universal suffrage and other words.Development of different countries is being watched, so English vocabulary will occur as a result of these developments and changes of new vocabulary.3.5 Cultural FactorsCultural factor include the network culture and Different Kinds of Cultural Blending.3.5.1 Network CultureThe rapid development of computer and the popularity of network are the formations of network English condition. And the network of English can be divided into three parts. One is the terminology associated with the network, the second category is generated with the development of network and network related special terms, the third category is that the people often use the term and symbol at the use of network chat software. Computer and network users to create a new album and a set of expressions, and even new syntax to express their ideas more directly and effectively, makes it easier to understand [5]. In fact, it can not be difficult to find out that, many Internet English vocabulary is not a new form which was created. But a lot of things through the old vocabulary are associative to the old vocabulary which gets new meaning, such as mouse, net, window, Hacker, etc. We all know these words in out life, but when it in the internet languages, it has its own term. Because of modern life rhythm is accelerating. So Internet users would like to use some abbreviations in English vocabulary and it will be brief instead of long and complex expressions. The abbreviation is led by many performance acronyms for harmonious tone generation method. An acronym as we often see BBS - bulletin board system, WWW - World Wide Web, VC- very good and so on. And homophonic law is to use the pronunciation and English words or syllables similar numbers or letters to replace some words, or combination the pronunciation and syllable, but in this way, although the point of view in language is not consistent with the specification, but the modern people accepted it and it has been widely used. For example we always said you are, but in the network users we would like to make U 'R and so on forms in the network. Network English is in a short period of time but the speed of the spreading and development is amazing in this short time, because users have strong inclusive and strong creativity in network. Some of theses words are popular and gradually usedinto our daily life, and people gradually recognize these network English words and these words become the basis of the vocabulary of English.3.5.2 Different Kinds of Cultural BlendingThe origins of English words as follows: French, including Old French and early Anglo-French (28.3%), Latin, including modern technology accounted for 28.24% of Latin vocabulary. Old English and Middle English, Old Norse and Dutch accounted for 25%, Greek accounting for 5.32 percent [6]. Thus it is not difficult to find out that, many English words are loanwords from other languages in the past, but a process of this kind of behavior is the cultural interaction of loanwords. While the language in British English in the past was known as the standard of English, but along with the time development, this argument has been slowly disappearing. Because American English through a large number of films, advertising, and broadcasting to constantly enhance their own influence, and America as the first country in the world also made many people continue to explore USA. While British English in development also gradually absorbs the vocabulary and usage in American English, like the usage as the “to updat e” is equivalent to“to bring up to date”, “to check up” is equivalent to “to check”, but some words like teenage, commuter and other such words have been in British English are well defined a position. And with the development of the times, English as an international language has a great inclusive meaning. And as we all have known, every country or the area has its own unique cultural customs and other things we never saw before. When the expression of vocabulary has no such thing in English vocabulary, it should be continued to absorb foreign culture to expand vocabulary, to achieve the purpose of interaction with others. Such as shawarma, Lichee (Lichi), tofu (bean curd), the Dragon Boat Festival, karaoke and so on. These words are not the basic words in English vocabulary. But the English users need to have these to express these things, so these words were created. The appearance of these new words are mainly created by the sound law. Some things are through the description of them to complete expression. With the development of the use of English, the limitation is not only in the European and American area or in English speaking countries, but thedevelopment has also been promoting the cultural integration. And this kind of cultural blending will also hinder the cross-cultural communication because of the different culture. As the word a dog, for example, in some cultures, represents the loyalty and friendship. But in other cultures, it is a kind of domestic pets, and in some place some people will think that is a kind of edible food and it is delicious food. When language is in the development，it need to adapt to the barriers in cross-cultural communication. When we create some vocabulary to describe something, we also have respect for other cultures.4 Influence of the New wordsEmergence and development of new English words have influenced the development of English. Although the English language has undergone great changes, but it may sound surprising that currently linguists have little bit idea about what cause a language to change. All languages are dynamic, not static, change is frequent, and it is a normal phenomenon [7]. While we observe it, we can find that vocabulary is the emergence of the biggest change in the English language and it is the fastest growing in English, while the change of grammatical and phonological system is relatively slow. And the emergence of new vocabulary has also constantly affected changes of grammatical structure and phonological system. V ocabulary development tends to be more colloquial and informal. Due to the use of these non formal vocabulary, the use of English writing is more colloquial, and grammar structure has some changes. We also find Chinese English translation, used in some English speaking countries would like to constitute some English sentences which are not formal and serious than before. We can find that the vocabulary of the new structure tends to be more simple and decent, especially abbreviations. And there is no more letters in some of the vocabulary in the creation than that in the past. I think this change is related to the modern people's fast pace of life, and the rapid development of network English. Although there are some changes in the English language, but some linguists disagree with it. They think the English language development is the deviation from the language of tradition. But most people still think that the informal written language, simple and decent new vocabulary and speech is more concise. It represents that the English language is synchronized with the development of Society for now, and is suitable for what people need.ConclusionThe real factors will make English very different from today and will bring about the emergence of a large number of new words [8]. Whether the new or old words, new words and new meanings, they are some kinds of progress in English vocabulary. If a language will only remain stagnant, it will only become obsolete. Why can English become the international language? Because it is inseparable from its continual emergence of new vocabulary, and constantly adapting to the development of society.While many factors promoting the new English vocabulary development, its influence on English language and its structure and the reasons of the adoption of new words are that why we will learn language and have been deepening constantly explore new English words, while it still forms in different ways and the development continues to produce. 汉英词汇的近源探秘英汉语言是世界上最流行的两种语言之一。
英文和汉语可以说是两种完全不同的语言，但它们之间也有共同之处。
有许多词汇在英语和汉语中都有存在，但发音和义思却大相径庭，其中很多词汇甚至要追溯到多年以前，至今仍有一些流传至今。
汉英语共有词汇的出现，可以追溯到古代的诸多文明文化的交流。
比如，希腊语和拉丁文的影响被认为是汉语和英语最早共有词汇的来源。
例如，“Lord”一词源自拉丁文的“Dominus”，在拉丁文中的意思是“主人”或“尊敬的人”，而在汉语中，“Lord”一词却被翻译为“君主”或“主人”。
另一个例子是“red”，这个词源自拉丁文“ruber”，那时拉丁文“ruber”指的是“红色”，而汉语中的“red”则被翻译为“红色”。

英语新词发展的原因及途径一、新词产生的原因1.政治、经济的发展变化二战以后,特别是近年来,世界政坛风云变幻。
这些变幻毫无疑问地给英语语言带来了不少新词。
“由于前苏联和美国两大军事集团的长期对峙,形成了诸如cold war(冷战),arm race(军备竞赛)等新词”。
动荡的世界政局和日趋变革的社会环境也是英语新词的重要来源。
例如,自从二十世纪六十年代初“-in运动”的兴起和发展,这个“新词家族”迅速扩大,比如sit-in(静坐示威),teac h-in(时事宣讲会),be-in(颓废派的社交集会)等,共出现了数十个-in的新词,其演变之快令人惊叹。
其他的政治新词新语如atomic club(原子俱乐部),nuclear arms(核武器),hegemonism(霸权主义)等亦常见于报刊之上。
随着世界经济日趋一体化,大量新的经济贸易组织应运而生;比如Or ganization of Petrol Exporting Countries(石油输出国组织),World Trade Organization (世界贸易组织)等。
欧洲联盟为了加强欧洲经济联合,决定在欧盟各国实行统一的货币政策,因而产生了另一个新词Euro(欧元)。
此外,世界金融危机和工商业的发展也是英语新词的主要来源之一。
revenue sharing(国库分享收入),slumpflation(萧条膨胀),petrodollar(石油美元)等都是近期产生的新词汇。
2.科学技术的进步随着科学技术的日新月异,许多新词新语也自然而然地被创造出来。
英语中的telephone,taxica b,cablegram,radiator,microwave oven等新词都是这样应运而生的。
自20世纪后半期以来,科学技术飞速发展和进步,众多新兴学科涌现出来,如psycholinguistics(心理语言学),behavior science(行为科学),bionics(仿生学)。
