纪馨芳：1989年12月至1992年5月任太原工业大学党委书记；1989年5月9日、10日，山西太原发生了大批游行示威的学生冲击省委、省政府，冲击当时正在举行的国际经济技术合作洽谈会、进出口商品交易会和民间艺术节的事件。
包括太原工业大学的学生在内的请愿团要求省委解释省委盖豪华办公大楼和六名省委常委300平米住宅。
事件平息后，太原工业大学被省委列为清查清理工作的重点。

太原理工大学一百一十年大事记第一部分（1901-1902）1901年3月26日英人李提摩太(Timothy Richard)由上海到北京，会晤李鸿章手下要员，呈《上李傅相办理山西教案章程七条»，在第三条中提出用教案罚款在山西设立中西大学堂。
李鸿章即表赞同，并把学校筹办工作交李提摩太负责，让他与山西巡抚岑春煌面商具体办法。
1902年4月30日李提摩太抵太原，建议将中西大学堂与山西大学堂合并办理，岑春煌派沈敦和与李提摩太协商，经40天商讨，双方同意，订立了合同23条。
中西大学堂改为西学专斋，专教西学，由李提摩太主持，以十年为期，到期后，交由中方经理，而原奏成立山西大学堂改为中学专斋，专授中国学问，由华人负责。
两斋并立，教务分属，统称之为山西大学堂。
5月13日山西巡抚奏准在原令德堂基础上开办山西大学堂。
6月9日岑春煌下令拨皇华馆学台衙门西院为西学专斋校址。
中学专斋设在太原文漏湖南的乡试贡院内。
6月26日西学专斋正式上课，巡抚岑春煌和省城重要官员出席了开学典礼，注册学生98名。
由李提摩太任西学专斋总理并聘请英国人敦崇礼任总教习。
9月山西大学堂在太原市侯家巷购民地200 亩，由敦崇礼负责，建设新校址。
本年，李提摩太从西学专斋办学经费中，每年拨出一万两白银，在上海江西路惠元里口开办了山西大学堂译书院。
第二部分（1949-1957）19492月3日中国人民解放军举行了庄严雄伟的北平入城仪式，迁移至北平的国立山西大学师生列队在北平前门大街欢迎解放大军人城。
2月5日北平市军事管制委员会文化接管委员会主任钱俊瑞主持召开了在平国立院校座谈会。
国立山西大学校长徐士瑚出席了座谈会。
2月22日北平市军事管制委员会文教接管委员会代表张宗麟和联络员文安、苏哲等同志，正式接管了国立山西大学。
4月24日太原解放。
4月26日根据北平军管会指示，国立山西大学民主青年工作先锋队支部立即发动师生做返回太原的组织准备工作，工学院与其他学院的师生，于5月上、中旬先后返回太原，5月中旬复课，郑文华教授任工学院院长。

What’s more, TUT women basketball team, women volleyball team, men football team, and athletes on field and track events, martial arts as well as other games have ever entered the finals of the national games, and obtained good results.In the 15th Doha Asian Games, Yuan Xiaochao, one of TUT students, won “Man ChangQuan All-Round Champion” title, bringing a big glory to Shanxi Province and Taiyuan University of Technology.With the solid foundation in both teaching and research, TUT has never stopped making efforts to turn itself into an internationalized university by enrolling students from all over the world, sending its students to the universities in other countries and running joint-education programs with the colleges and universities from overseas. TUT is in cooperation with countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, Russia, France, Italy, Japan and others. It also has established 3 Confucius Institutes abroad.
