It's a huge, beautiful lake near where I live in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province in southwest China. Dianchi is so cool, you'll love hearing about it!First of all, Dianchi Lake is massive! It covers an area of almost 300 square kilometers, making it one of the biggest freshwater lakes in China. From up high, it looks like a giant shimmering mirror reflecting the sky. The lake is shaped like a crescent moon which is really neat.I love going to Dianchi with my family on the weekends. We pack a picnic lunch and spend the whole day playing at the lakeshore parks. There are lots of fun playgrounds and wide open grassy areas perfect for running around. My favorite is flying kites - the breeze coming off the lake makes the wind conditions ideal! One of the coolest things about Dianchi is all the little islands dotting the lake. Over 20 islands poke up out of the water, and you can actually take a boat tour to visit some of them. A couple even have small temples built on them from hundreds of years ago. I dream of exploring all the islands one day and looking for buried treasure! The lake itself is a beautiful shade of blue-green. The water looks so refreshing, especially in the hot Yunnan summer. You can go swimming at some of the beach areas, but my parents don't let me go too deep because the lake can have strong currents. Still, I love splashing around in the shallows.Another awesome thing about Dianchi is all the birds that live there or stop over while migrating. Flocks of ducks, geese, swans, egrets and other waterbirds make the lake their home. I try to see how many different species I can spot every time we visit. My binoculars help me get a close-up view. Once, I even saw a huge flock of bright pink flamingos resting in the shallows! At night, the area around Dianchi Lake is all lit up with colorful lights. You can take a boat cruise after dark to see the sparkling reflection of the city on the water. Or there are parks on the shoreline with trails and bridges perfect for an evening stroll.I love grabbing an ice cream and walking along, watching the moon rise over the glittering lake. The history and culture around Dianchi is fascinating too. For over 1,300 years, the lake has played an important role in the lives of Kunming's people. They have built temples, tombs, and gardens along the shores. Different ethnic minorities like the Hui, Bai and Yi have helped shape the region. I'm proud that my hometown has such an ancient and diverse heritage.Sadly, Dianchi Lake has gotten polluted over the years from industrial waste and sewage being dumped into it. The government has started major clean-up efforts, but there is still work to do. I really hope we can restore the lake to full health during my lifetime. Protecting this special place is so important.Well, that's my introduction to amazing Dianchi Lake! I feel so lucky to have grown up getting to play and explore around this huge, beautiful lake. It truly is my favorite spot on Earth. If you ever get a chance to visit Kunming, you have to come see Dianchi for yourself. Today I want to tell you about my very favorite place in the whole wide world - Dian Chi! Dian Chi is a big, beautiful lake in Yunnan Province in southwest China. It's also called Erhai Lake. I love Dian Chi so much and I'm super excited to share all about it with you!Dian Chi is huuuuge - it's one of the biggest highland lakes in China. The lake is around 40 kilometers long and 10 kilometers wide. That's really, really big! The water is so pretty too. It's a bright blue-green color that shimmers and sparkles in the sunshine. The lake is surrounded by tall green mountains that make an amazing backdrop. There are lots of cool islands right in the middle of Dian Chi too. The two biggest ones are Xiaoputuo and Dalaocun. On Xiaoputuo Island there are pretty Buddhist temples to explore. And on Dalaocun Island you can see historic houses and learn about the Bai minority people who have lived there for a long, long time. I went on a boat tour to both islands and it was awesome! My favorite thing about Dian Chi is all the awesome outdoors stuff you can do there. I love cycling along the lakeshore and taking in the beautiful scenery. You can rent bikes or bring your own. There are parks and gardens all around thelakeshore too with walking paths and places for picnics. My family and I have had so many fun picnics there! If you like being on the water, there's tons to do on Dian Chi itself. You can go swimming or rent a little boat, kayak, or pedal boat and explore the lake that way. I've done that lots of times and it's a blast! You can also go fishing if you want to try to catch your own dinner. My dad took me fishing once and, even though we didn't catch anything, it was still really fun.Around Dian Chi there are lots of cool little towns and villages to check out too. Hugging the eastern shore is the city of Xiaguan, which has an amazing morning market that my mom and I love to visit. You can find every kind of fresh fruit, veggie, and tasty local snack there. The best part is the woman who makes jianbing, which is kind of like a crepe with an egg cooked right into it. So yummy!North of the lake is the town of Shuanglang, where the Bai people live. They are known for their incredible handmadetie-dye clothes and textiles which are just gorgeous. We always stop in Shuanglang to buy a few small souvenirs. South of Dian Chi is the town of Zhongdian, which is famous for its towering dzongs or Buddhist monasteries up in the mountains. I felt so tiny next to them!I hope you can tell how much I absolutely adore Dian Chi! To me, it's the perfect place. The scenery is top-notch, there's a ton of great stuff to do, and some really cool cultural experiences too. Whenever I'm having a bad day or just feeling bored, I always beg my parents to take me to Dian Chi. Just being near that huge, sparkling blue lake immediately lifts my spirits and makes me happy. If you ever get a chance to visit Yunnan, you have to make sure to spend time at Dian Chi. Bring a swimsuit so you can go swimming, rent bikes to explore the lakeshore, and don't forget to try ALL the tasty local snacks. I'm actually getting hungry just thinking about it! Dian Chi is an absolute must-see in my opinion. You'll fall in love with it just like I have!篇3My Awesome Trip to Lake Dian!Last summer, my family went on a super cool trip to Yunnan province in southwest China. We visited sooooo many amazing places, but my favorite was definitely Lake Dian near the city of Kunming. Let me tell you all about it!Lake Dian is this gigantic lake that looks like a hugeeeee mirror reflecting the sky. It's so big that it almost looks like anocean! The lake covers around 300 square kilometers, which is about the same size as 100 football fields put together. That's massive! I couldn't believe how far the water stretched out in every direction. My dad told me the lake is actually a plateau lake, which means it's located way up high on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau at around 1,900 meters above sea level. That's taller than any skyscraper I've ever seen! Being up that high makes the air feel really fresh and clean when you breathe it in.Even though the lake is so enormous, it's not very deep. The deepest parts are only around 8 meters down. That's just a little deeper than the deep end of a swimming pool! I loved wading out into the clear water and watching all the little fish swimming around my legs. The bottom was covered in soft, squishy mud that oozed up between my toes. It felt so weird and silly! One of the coolest things about Lake Dian is all the little islands dotted around in the water. There are around 20 islands total, and some of them have temples, parks, and other attractions you can visit. We took a ferry boat out to one of the biggest islands called Xisha Island. On Xisha Island, we hiked up a tall hill to an ancient Buddhist temple called Jingting Temple. It was built over 1,000 years agoduring the Tang Dynasty! The mountain trail was a little tough to climb, but once we got to the top the view was breathtaking. We could see the glistening blue lake stretching out for miles and miles all around us. The temple itself was stunning too, with bright red walls, golden Buddha statues, and clouds of incense smoke wafting through the air. It felt almost magical. After visiting the temple, we walked around the island and I got to see some super neat things. There were peach orchards with hundreds of fuzzy pink blooms, and a forest filled with bamboo trees taller than buildings. My little brother and I tried using the bamboo as walking sticks, but they were way too heavy to carry around! We also passed by some friendly farmers tending to their rice paddies and veggie gardens. They wore these funny cone-shaped bamboo hats that looked like giant upside-down ice cream cones on their heads. I loved their traditional outfits!Of course, no trip to a lake would be complete without some swimming and boating! Lake Dian has special designated areas roped off for swimming where the water is clean and safe. We spent a whole afternoon splashing around and playing hot potato with an inflatable beach ball. The water was the perfect refreshing temperature to cool off from the hot summer sun.We also rented a little motor boat to cruise around the outer edges of the lake. Our captain took us to see the unique rock islands that stick up vertically out of the water, almost like giant pillars. He told us the strangest one is called the Laoying Rock, which apparently looks like an eagle spreading its wings in flight if you squint really hard. I couldn't really see the resemblance, but it was still fun to use our imaginations! As the sun started going down, the lake transformed into the prettiest pastel painting ever. The sky turned bright shades of orange, pink, and purple, which reflected perfectly on the still, mirror-like surface of the water. The glowing sunset made the lake seem almost magical and mystical. I could have watched it for hours and hours! On our final night, we attended the Lake Dian Ethnic Cultural Park to see a traditional dance performance. Dancers from all of Yunnan's 25 minority groups came on stage wearing their distinctive costumes and makeup. They performed ancient folk dances telling stories about things like harvesting crops, hunting animals, and finding love. My favorite was probably the Dai minority's peacock dance where the performers held massive rainbow feather fans that unfurled behind them as they twirled around. So colorful and elegant! After the show, there was an amazing fireworks display launched right over the middle of Lake Dian. Thousands of bright sparkling lights lit up the night sky and reflected perfectly in the calm waters of the lake. I'd never seen anything so dazzling in my whole life! It was the perfect ending to our awesome Dianchi adventure.Lake Dian is definitely one of the prettiest and most interesting places I've ever visited. Between the sparkling blue waters, fascinating islands and rock formations, cultural performances, and stunning sunsets, there was something new to discover around every corner. I'll never forget the wonderful memories I made splashing in the shallows, exploring ancient temples, and soaking in the peaceful natural beauty. If you ever get the chance, you have to go see Dianchi for yourself!篇4Dianchi Lake is a Big Big Lake in Yunnan, ChinaHi everyone! My name is Little Wang and I'm going to tell you all about this super cool lake called Dianchi Lake near where I live in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. It's huuuuuge and pretty and has lots of fun stuff to do there!First of all, Dianchi Lake is ginormous! It's one of the biggest freshwater lakes in all of China. It's about as big as 200 football fields put together. That's pretty much as big as my whole town! The lake is really really deep too, going down over 100 feet in some parts. All that water makes Dianchi look like a giant mirror reflecting the sky and clouds. So pretty! There are over 20 smaller rivers that empty into Dianchi, bringing in fresh water from the mountains. Some of those rivers have cute little waterfalls that I love watching the water tumble down. My favorite is the Cangshan Waterfalls on the western side. They're the biggest waterfalls flowing into the lake and make a huge roaring splash!Dianchi has tons of cool wildlife swimming, flying and crawling around too. Over 100 different kinds of birds come to rest and nest around the shoreline. I've spotted big awesome white egrets, those funny-looking long-legged herons, and evenbeautiful kingfishers with their brilliant blue feathers. Swimming in the water are all sorts of fish like carp and catfish. I even saw an otter family playing once! How cute are otters?!But my favorite animals at Dianchi are actually kind of yucky - the FROGS! Hehehe I just love catching those slimy little hoppers. There are marsh frogs, pig frogs, and even giantbullfrogs as big as my hand. At night you can hear them all croaking and ribbiting away. Sometimes I try to sneak up and grab one but they always get away at the last second. Someday I'll catch one!People have lived around Dianchi for over 2,800 years, all the way back to ancient times. You can still see some old ruins leftover from those days, like crumbly palace walls and temples with broken statues. My grandpa says that back then, the lake was crystal clear and full of fish for eating. The ancient kings would go on beautiful boats out on the water. Not as many people live right on the shores now though.Nowadays, there are parks and walking trails all along the lakefront so everyone can enjoy Dianchi. Couples and families are always out for picnics, bike rides or just hanging outsun-bathing. On holidays there are festivals with music, dancing and games. I love going to buy snacks and toys from all the fun outdoor booths.I also really like chuanqi, which are these cool high arching bridges that cross over parts of the lake. You can walk or bike along them and get amazing views looking out over the whole humongous lake below. I'll race you to the top! Last one up is a rotten egg!Sadly, Dianchi has had some pollution problems in recent years from factories and too many people living too close. The water isn't as clear and sparkling as it used to be. But the government has been working hard to clean things up and make the lake nice again. They built new processing plants and inspired people to recycle more. I always try to pick up any litter I see to help keep my favorite lake clean!Overall, Dianchi Lake is just the best place ever. It's pretty, fun, has tons of cool nature, and you can do all kinds of stuff like hiking, boating, swimming and more. I'm so lucky to have this amazing lake basically in my backyard! Whenever I'm bored, I can run down and spend hours exploring. I'll take you on a full tour next time you visit Kunming. Let's go catch some frogs!篇5My Favorite Place - Dian Chi (Lake Dian)Hi friends! Today I want to tell you about my absolute favorite place in the whole wide world - Dian Chi! Dian Chi is a huge lake near my home city of Kunming in Yunnan Province, China. It's so big that it's kind of like an ocean, but without any scary waves or monsters living in it. At least, I don't think there are any monsters...Dian Chi is surrounded by tall green mountains that make it look like a giant beautiful mirror reflecting the sky. The water is so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom in some parts. My dad says that's because the lake gets its water from underground springs that keep it really clean and pure. Cool, right? There are lots of fun things to do at Dian Chi besides just looking at it. You can rent a little boat and go out rowing on the lake. Or if you don't want to get wet, there are bigger sightseeing boats that will take you on a tour. From the boat, you can see all the pretty gardens and parks along the shoreline.Speaking of gardens, some of my favorite parts of Dian Chi are the little islands in the middle of the lake. They have the most amazing gardens filled with colorful flowers, maple trees, and even ancient temples! To get to the islands, you take these cool little shuttle boats that go back and forth all day long. Once you're on the island, it's like being in a secret garden paradise. One of the islands is called Xihua Island, and it has this incredible Buddhist temple called Butterflly Spring that's over 1,000 years old! The monks who live there are super nice and will even let you ring the big brass bell if you ask politely. I got to dothat once and it was really loud - like BONGGGGGGG! My ears were ringing for like an hour afterwards.Another awesome thing about Dian Chi is that there are tons of cute little snack shops and restaurants all along the lakeshore. You can get freshly squeezed sugar cane juice, grilled squid on a stick, sweet potato fries, and the most delicious fried bread pellets called huanuo bing. My favorites are the little fried sesame balls filled with sweet red bean paste - they're like crunchy little balls of heaven! One time, my parents took me and my little brother on a night tour of the lake. It was so magical seeing all the temples, gardens, and bridges lit up and reflecting on the dark water. We even saw people doing a dragon dance with these crazy long bamboo poles covered in lights! It looked like a realfire-breathing dragon slithering across the surface of the lake. So cool!I could go on and on about Dian Chi forever, but I better wrap this up.
