How to write a composition step by step (take “a letter of invitation” as an example) The analysis of the students
Writing is very important in English. Although students used to write this kind of articles many times in examination, they still can’t get high er scores, because most of students didn’t master the basic skills and methods of writing. What’s more, the letter of invitation has always been the hotpots in College Entrance Examination for many years, thus, I think it’s high time that students should be improved by thematic training.This period aims at helping students have a basic understanding of the form, structure, tense and some writing tips of a letter.
The analysis of teaching material
There are many types of letters in Writing, and the letter of invitation is most important in recent ten years in College Entrance Examination. So,it is very necessary for students to master it well.

1.Learn how to write a composition about a letter of invitation
2.Learn how to use advanced phrases and sentence patterns in their English composition.

1.Show some students’ exam papers to let students compare these samples, then decide which one will get higher scores in their first impression, and lead in the topic.

Step 2:Introduction of the basic elements
Four steps to write a composition:
① Analyzing the writing topic 审题
②Make an outline拟提纲--- (list the key words)
③Translation（翻译）---(Thinking of key points/phrases)
④Forming passage by adding some linking words.（成文）
Step 3. Presentation
Present the writing materials to the class, then ask them to do some imagination, and try to enrich the content.
How to write a letter of invitation ?

假设你是李华，我校拟定于下周五举行一次英语幽默故事大赛。请你给目前在德江二中就读的你的朋友Linda写一封电子邮件，邀请她一起参加。内容包括：

Show a sample letter to students, and then ask students do several tasks according to the following steps:
1)Sentence structure: How many parts does “a letter of invitation” contain? What are they?(the beginning,the body,and the ending）
