Passive Anti-theft system (PATS)FoCOM service manual/focomThis is PRELIMINARY WORKING DRAFT for SECONS Ltd. internal use and FoCOM users. Table of ContentsPATS Introduction (2)Bosch PSG TDDi - Fuel Injection pump (2)Lucas EPIC TDDi - Fuel Injection pump (2)LED indicator of PATS status (2)Information about PATS state (3)PATS unlocking (3)Clearing keys procedure (5)New key programming procedure (5)“Pairing” PATS Control Units (6)Common PATS fault codes (7)Problems not related to PATS (8)PATS system types (8)Type of transceivers (active antennas) (8)For users familiar with Ford IDS diagnostics we have included screenshots of Ford IDS for comparison.PATS IntroductionPATS functions are available in diagnostic session for PCM and IPC ECUs in programming/coding menu.Bosch PSG TDDi - Fuel Injection pumpBosch PSG / FIP (Fuel Injection Pump) require to be paired with PCM in order to work. New Bosch PSG systems are adapted automatically, however used fuel pumps require to run adaptation procedure. This coding is described in a separate document related to Bosch PSG diagnosis. Lucas EPIC TDDi - Fuel Injection pumpLucas EPIC turbo-diesel systems sold in Europe require adaptation after each key-recoding. The coding procedure is available in “PATS II” ECU. Please note that not all Lucas EPIC systems are covered at this time.LED indicator of PATS statusIgnition LED DescriptionOFF Short flashing Stand-by mode, PATS worksInserted and correctly identified keyON Lights 4 seconds andturns offON Fast flashing Wrong key, anti-scan mode is activatedON On Waiting for coding keysWhen Anti-scan mode is activated, you must wait at least 30 seconds before any operations with PATS.Information about PATS stateThis function displays all importantinformation about PATS system and itsstate.Ford IDS doesn't provide thisfunction.Authorization:Informs, whether secure access ispermitted or forbidden(PATSoperations are allowed).PATS types:Timed: Delay of approx. 10 minutes isrequired before codingCoded: Requires challenge-response INCODE/OUTCODE authorization (you can obtain INCODEs using / or through Ford ETIS service)Minimum number of keys:Minimum number of programmed keys required for correct function of PATS (car won't start if less then required number of keys is programmed).Number of coded keys:Current number of programmed keys. Number should be equal to or greater than previous value, in other case trouble codes will appear fault code memory. It is very important to have correct type of transponder for every model and minimal number of keys.PATS unlockingBefore any operation with PATS you have to get access to PATS ECU.In coding access you see window asking for OUTCODE/INCODE.The coded PATS generates a so-called OUTCODE, which requires a so-called INCODE, which is dependent on a specific vehicle and generated OUTCODE.PATS unlocking is performed before any operation automatically, you do not have to use FoCOM “PATS Login” function. The PATS Login is used only for test purposes (to verify correctness of incode) and some special operations. For each OUTCODE, which control unit generates, is necessary to get a unique INCODE.Using one and the same INCODE during more operations with PATS is not possible.INCODE can be obtained at / or using Ford ETIS service. Please note that P service doesn't support yet a 2011+ Ford Mondeo/S-Max/Galaxy/Focus and C-Max vehicles that use different system. For such vehicles you need to obtain the INCODE using other source such as Ford ETIS.Timed PATS starts the countdown automatically. Program cannot speed-up the countdown, it fully depends on the control unit. You can cancel the running countdown by clicking on Cancel button. While FoCOM is waiting for control unit to unlock, it communicates with control unit and therefore ignition has to be switched ON.A dialog waiting for the completion of the operation (programming, clearing, etc.) is displayed afterwards. Operations aredescribed in following chapters. Then press C ancel button to start codingprocedure. If you are changing key, ignition must not be switched off for morethan 10 seconds.Clearing keys procedure–Connect to PCM–Choose Erase all keys and program new–Login to PATS (see previous chapter)–Communication is in progress–After few minutes of waiting is showing the call for delete keys by pressing Cancel button. The control unit is now ready to perform deleting and coding a new keys. Pressing Cancel button is going to delete ALL keys and is necessary to coding a new one. The followingprocedure is intended for vehicles requiring min. 2 coded keys–Turn ignition OFF–Turn ignition ON (wait about 5 seconds), PATS LED is on–Turn ignition OFF and remove key–Insert the next key and turn the ignition ON (PATS LED off after about 5 seconds)–Turn OFF the ignition and wait 60 seconds–Check by P ATS state information function if the keys was deleted and the new keys added (if the number of keys is 0 or 1, it is necessary to add the next key(s) by Program new key function)As long as minimal number of keys required by PCM isn't programmed, engine may notstart. Fault code memory will show error stating that less than minimum required keys is programmed.New key programming procedure–Connect to ECU that holds programmed keys (typ. PCM, IPC, BCM or RKE depending on model)–Click item Program new key–Log in to PATS (see previous chapter)–Once the information “After clicking Cancel, key will be programmed” appear, insert new key in to ignition OFF (if key have not been there yet) and switch to ON position –click on Cancel button–New key will be programmed–Switch key to OFF or remove key–Check if operation was successful by function Information about P ATS state“Pairing” PATS Control UnitsFor vehicles that use multiple ECUs for PATS system (e.g. PCM and IPC, BCM RKE or SCIL), ECUs need to contain same vehicle security data. For this purpose FoCOM provides “PATS Pairing” function, which is available coding menu of non-PCM ECU (IPC, BCM, SCIL or RKE). The function is available only on coded PATS.PATS pairing requires obtaining two INCODE/OUTCODE pairs of both ECUs involved in PATS system.PATS pairing function is now available also on UDS protocol.Supported multi-ECU PATS systems:Common PATS fault codesProblems not related to PATS•The “Service Engine Soon” light is illuminated. (Investigate PCM system)•There is no communication with PCM: PCM will always communicate on the diagnostic link regardless of theft status. (Investigate PCM system)•Engine stalls on road: Once the engine runs for one second, PATS CANNOT disable the engine. Running stalls are not PATS related issues.•Remote Entry/Keyless Entry problems: PATS is completely separate from the Remote Entry/Keyless Entry systems.•There is a no-crank problem on vehicles without PATS Starter disable. Check chart, on reverse side, for presence of Starter Interrupt.•PATS Theft Indicator flashes every 2 seconds at Ignition OFF. This is normal operation for PATS to act as a visual theft deterrent. See chart on reverse side for applicable system.•PATS Theft Indicator stays on for 2 or 3 seconds (depending on system type) at Ignition RUN or START and then off: This is normal operation for PATS prove out on all vehicles except LS and Thunderbird.PATS system typesA&B: Stand Alone Module (PATS)C: Instrument Cluster- Virtual Image Cluster (VIC)- Hybrid Electronic Cluster (HEC)- Instrument Cluster Module (ICM)D: Steering Column Ignition Lock Module (SCIL)E: Powertrain Control Module (PCM)F: Powertrain Control Module (PCM)G: Instrument Cluster Module (ICM)Type of transceivers (active antennas)–small Ford–small Valeo (only transceiver, Ford Galaxy, engine Duratec)–big Valeo (Ford Galaxy 1.9 Tdi VW)。

In order not to affect device cooling, the frequency converter must always be in-stalled upright. For perfect heat dissipation, the minimum installation spacingabove and below the devices shown in the drawing must be observed.Fig. 1-1:Installation conditions●The frequency converter shown above is Frame 1. The minimum installation spacing stated applies to Frame 1 to Frame 7.●Frequency Converter Fv has no side ventilation hole, which ena-bles parallel mounting of Fv with zero distance.●If one frequency converter is arranged above another, make sure the upper limit of air temperature into the inlet is not exceeded (see chapter 1 "Mechanical Installation" on page 1). A baffle plate is recommended between the frequency converters to prevent the rising hot air being drawn into the upper converter if the up-per limit of air temperature is exceeded.Bosch Rexroth AGMechanical Installation2/35DOK-RCON02-FV*********-IN03-EN-PBosch Rexroth AGMechanical Installation 1.4 DimensionsTab. 1-2: DimensionsDOK-RCON02-FV*********-IN03-EN-P3/35Fig. 1-2: Frame 1, 2, 3Bosch Rexroth AGMechanical Installation4/35DOK-RCON02-FV*********-IN03-EN-PFig. 1-3: Frame 4, 5Bosch Rexroth AG Mechanical InstallationDOK-RCON02-FV*********-IN03-EN-P5/35Bosch Rexroth AGMechanical InstallationFig. 1-4: Frame 6, 76/35DOK-RCON02-FV*********-IN03-EN-P2 Electric Installation2.1 Cable Specifications2.1.1 Connecting to the MainsDepending on rating, the frequency converters are available in different sizes. For the device to function perfectly, flexible cables with corresponding wire end sleeves must be used during the electric installation. Electronic Flow VerificationAre you sure the pump is actually pumping?Empty chemical tank, clogged injection fitting, lost prime, an other problems can prevent a metering pump from actually injecting chemical - even though the pump is in good working order.MICRO-FLOFLOW VERIFICATION SYSTEM (FVS)INSTRUCTION MANUAL5300 Business Drive Huntington Beach, CA 92649USAPhone: 714-893-8529 FAX: 714-894-9492E mail:********************or **************************Website: Installation GuidelineA-100NV Peristaltic PumpThe Micro Flow FVS can be connected directly to manyBlue-White injector pumps (see table below). The sensor will verify that chemical injection has actually occurred. The pumps sophisticated electronics continuously monitor the sensor. If chemical should fail to inject, the pump will stop and an alarm relay will close - allowing for remote alarm indication and/or initiation of a back-up injector pump.Recommended sensor mounting locations differ from diaphragm pump to peristaltic pump.Diaphragm pump installation; the sensor should be mounted on the discharge (outlet) side of thepumphead. The sensor can be mounted directly on the pumphead or anywhere along the tubing on the discharge side of the pump.Peristaltic pump installation; the sensor should be mounted on the suction (inlet) side of the pumphead.Blue-White FVS compatible metering pumps:* Pump Shut-Down Time = If chemical should fail to inject in the amount of time specified, the pump will automatically shut-down, also triggering an alarm relay.Installation OptionsThe Micro Flow FVS (Flow Verification Sensor) is designed to give you many installation options. The sensor can be installed:!Directly on the pumphead of a Blue-White pump (see next page).!Anywhere on the discharge side of a diaphragm pump.!Anywhere on the suction side of a peristaltic pump. The wiring for the sensor can be connected directly to a Blue-White pump. The pump will stop pumping if the sensor detects no flow. A relay will then close allowing for remote alarm indication or initiation of a back-up injector pump.Wiring DiagramFoot StrainerStrainer AdapterStrainer BodyScreen StrainerPart Number C-340XExploded ViewYour flow verification sensorpackage includes a Foot Strainer (see diagram below). This strainer will prevent any small particles from entering and clogging the Micro Body. Diaphragm pumps will require a strainer and a check valve. At the maximum suggested pressure the tempera-ture should approach 70°F / 21.1°C. At the maximum suggested temperature the pressure should approach zero psi. We cannot guarantee our flowmeters will not be damaged either at or below the suggested limits simply because of many factors which influence meter integrity; stress resulting from meter misalignment, damage due to excessive vibration and/or deterioration caused by contact with certain chemicals as well as direct sunlight. These situations and others tend to reduce the strength of the materials from which the meters are manufactured.Although meters may be suitable for other chemicals, Blue-White cannot guarantee their suitability. It is the responsibility of the user to determine the suitability of the flowmeter in their application.Application NoteExploded View and Parts ListNOTE: The “Exploded View” drawing illustrates assembly of the FVS (Flow Verification Sensor) If your FVS needs to be cleaned refer to this drawing when reassembling the unit.Item Description Catalog number Quantity1.

This is done through suitable restric-tion of the flow rate of compressed airin exhaust air or supply air direction. The non-return function works in theopposite direction. The flow control function creates anadjustable annular gap inside thevalve. This gap can be increased or de-creased by turning the knurled screwor slotted head screw. The required restriction can be set withthe help of this adjustment element.General informationStandard nominal flow rate qnN Standard flow rate qn Symbols ConnectionsThe standard nominal flow rate qnN is the volumetric flow rate based on standard conditions at an operating pressure of p1 = 6 bar and an output pressure of p2 = 5 bar, measured at room temperature t = 20°C.The standard flow rate qn is measuredat an operating pressure of p1 = 6 barand an output pressure with respect toatmospheric pressure (p2 = 0 bar).Exhaust air one-way flow controlfunctionSupply air one-way flow controlfunction2[1] Pneumatic connection 1(compressed air connection)[2] Pneumatic connection 2 (workingport)4d Internet: /catalogue/...Subject to change – 2022/01One-way flow control valves VFOCType codes52022/01 – Subject to change d Internet: /catalogue/...6d Internet: /catalogue/...Subject to change – 2022/01One-way flow control valves VFOCDatasheetOne-way flow control function -M- Flow rate 0 ... 270 l/min -Q- Temperature range –10 ... +60°C -L-Operating pressure0.2 ... 10 barStandard nominal flow rate qnN at 6 a 5 bar as a function of spindlerotations nStandard flow rate qn at 6 a0 bar as a function of spindle rotations nQS-6QS-4QS-6QS-4Supply airOne-way flow control valves VFOC DatasheetMaterialsSectional view7 2022/01 – Subject to change d Internet: /catalogue/...Festo - Your Partner in AutomationConnect with us/socialmedia 1Festo Inc.2Festo Pneumatic 3Festo Corporation 4Regional Service Center 5300 Explorer DriveMississauga, ON L4W 5G4CanadaAv.
