Introduction部分首先通过两幅中外著名报刊杂志的图片切人话题,使学生了解报刊杂志的相关术语;接着通过介绍报刊杂志的各个版块来学习单词,并通过口头表达的活动来达到运用的目的,为后面的各项学习活动做好准备。
Vocabulary and Reading部分以Chinese Taikonaut Back On Earth!为话题,以新闻报道的方式,介绍了中国宇航员杨利伟遨游太空的事迹,并说明了此次航天飞行的重大意义。
根据文章的内容,编者设计了五个活动,如:词汇练习,主旨大意题,阅读理解题,判断题,讨论题,学生通过这些练习熟悉课文内容并学会使用与探索太空有关的词汇,同时对学生进行爱国主义教育。

新闻报道的结构一般分为四个部分:标题、导语、主体、结语。
1.标题:标题是新闻的题目,是编辑对最有新闻价值的内容的浓缩、概括。
为了撷取新闻要点、诠释新闻意义、吸引读者阅读,好的标题应该简洁明了。
2.导语:导语是消息开头的第一句话或第一段,它扼要地揭示出新闻的核心内容。
3.主体:主体是新闻的主要部分,它用充足的事实表现主题,是对导语内容的进一步展开和阐述。
4.结语:一般是最后一句话或者一段话,通常对全文内容作概括性的总结,有时作者根据报道在结语中提出令人深思的问题。
