一、课程性质、目的与任务
“科技英语”是非英语专业本科生的一门必修课。通过 本课程的学习，学生在公共英语教学基础上，掌握科技英 语的特点及翻译技巧、科技论文的阅读及写作方法、英文 工具手册的阅读和使用、扩大科技词汇量，让学生承担科 技英语阅读必需的基本技能和知识，使学生能够以英语为 工具获取科技知识及其他有关的信息,以便能准确、迅速 地了解国外科技发展动态，加强对外交流的能力。
11科技英语上课解析
概念：
科技英语:一般指在自然科学和工程技术方 面的科学著作、论文、教科书、科技报告和 学术讲演中所使用的英语。
科技英语不像普通英语那样具有感性形象 思维，不具感情色彩，其目的是使读者容易 理解而不产生太多的想象。也不经常运用比 喻、排比、夸张等修辞手段，而是要准确表 达客观规律，按逻辑思维清晰地描述问题。

能写自己专业论文的英语摘要，能借助参考资料写出 与专业相关、结构基本清晰、内容较为丰富的报告和论文， 能描写各种图表，内容完整，条理清楚，文理通顺。

一、科技英语在词汇方面的特点
1、专业术语多。专业术语指某一学科领域所特有或专用的语汇，词形长、难念，
但技术词汇词义专一，能用来表达确切的含义。其词义常不为专业外读者所明 白，如cryogenics (低温学)。这些专业术语的特点是：
