浅析俄英“会议”的对等翻译【摘要】本文从翻译实践的角度总结了三类俄语“会议”词的用法及译法,并找出强势色彩“会议”词的英译对应词,旨在揭示其在语境中的功能,掌握它们的惯用搭配,实现对俄语“会议”词的最恰当、自然的对等翻译。

【关键词】会议;功能;翻译所谓“会议”,是指人们为了解决某个共同的问题或出于不同的目的聚集在一起,围绕一个共同的主题,进行信息交流或聚会、商讨的活动。

一次会议的利益主体主要有主办者、承办者和与会者(许多时候还有演讲人),其主要内容是与会者之间进行思想或信息的交流。

“会议”这样一个普通名词,看似并无难译之处,可是当将其译成俄语和英语时,绝非一个собрание或meeting就能解决的。

会议分类的方式可说是不胜枚举,这点初步由俄文对会议名称的写法,就可看出端倪,像是: собрание, заседание, конференция, сессия, конгресс, съезд, комитет, комиссия, совещание,семинар,симпозиум, собор, подкомитет, пленум;再如英译:meeting, conference, session, congress, convention, committee, commission, seminar, council, discussion, forum, panel, convocation, roundtable, symposium, synod, parley,social gathering, workshop等,都是一般常见的会议名称。

随着全球化的程度不断加深,有些词的用法在逐渐退化,而另一些词则在加强,由于会议的型态并无一定的大小,且各种会议亦各有所长,都有自己特殊的功能,例如конгресс多指较大型的会议,所以在翻译时,切忌想当然,不能只凭直感, 任意发挥。

翻译是一个复杂而又具有挑战性的过程。

用三种不同方法翻译英语中的数词英语中的有些数词在汉译时可以等值翻译。

但是，也有不少数词在汉译中不能等值翻译，或者完全不译出来。

这种翻译处理方法是为了使汉译句子能符合汉语的表达习惯。

一般人也许认为这种翻译不会太复杂，中英文的对应只要做到单词的匹配不出问题就行，这种只追求与中文名称表面上对应的翻译方法造成了不少问题。

一、展会名称英译存在的问题（一）展会活动词的用词不当首先，会展活动的种类繁多，而国内外对这些活动又有不同的界定，造成了译者对相关词汇理解上的困难。

其次，有关会展活动的同义词或近义词很多，而现有词典中的解释又不够明确，如果翻译时盲目地按中文字面意思硬译，会产生许多问题。

如，译文不能准确反映会展活动的真实特点、目的与功能。

目前，“XX展”通常都翻译成exhibition，而“XX会议”则通通翻译成conference。

实际上，exhibition这个词一般不在展会名称中使用，而是各种展会活动的一个统称，展会活动词还有很多其他表达，比如，show，fair，expo等等。

例如，第六届中国（广州）国际汽车展览会，the 6th International Autoshow， Guangzhou， China. 另外，“conference”也不能指代所有的“会议”。
