当代大学生学会用英语讲好中国故事既是国家形象传播的重要途径,又涉及文化自信建设、国际交流互动以及个人综合素质提升。
然而,面临文化认知差异、语言表达能力挑战、多元价值观冲突和信息准确性等挑战,培养大学生讲好中国故事的能力不仅有助于国家文化软实力的提升,也是促进关注个体的语言、文化、知识和跨文化交际能力全面发展的重要过程。

听和读是输入过程,是人们获取信息的过程,属于接受活动;而说、写、译是输出过程,是人们分享传递信息、表达交流情感的过程,属于生产活动。
英语的这五种能力既相互联系又相互区别,当五种技能有效结合在一起时,学习者即可全面提高其英语能力。
公共英语演讲集知识性、趣味性、挑战性于一身,突破了传统的听、说、读、写、译分开讲解的英语教学方法,首次将这五种技能有机地结合起来,进一步有效提升学生的英语水平。
