无有时方物,有性非缘生;故无时方物,有性而常住。
非无因有性,有因即非常,故无因欲成,真见说非有。
见所作无常,谓非作常住,既见无常有,应言常性无。
愚夫妄分别,谓空等为常,智者依世间,亦不见此义。
非唯一有分,遍诸一切分,故知一一分,各别有有分。
若法体实有,卷舒用可得;此定从他生,故成所生果。
若离所生果,无有能生因,是故能生因,皆成所生果。
诸法必变异,方作余生因,如是变异因,岂得名常住。
若本无今有;自然常为因,既许有自然,因则为妄立。
云何依常性,而起于无常,因果相不同,世所未曾见。
若一分是因,余分非因者,即应成种种,种种故非常。
在因微圆相,于果则非有,是故诸极微,非遍体和合。
于一极微处,既不许有余,是故亦不应,许因果等量。
微若有东方,必有东方分,极微若有分,如何是极微。
要取前舍后,方得说为行,此二若是无,行者应非有。
若法无初分,无中分后分,是法无所现,由何者能见。
若果能坏因,是则因非常,或是处有因,彼处即无果。
不见有诸法,常而是有对,故极微是常,诸佛未曾说。
离缚所缚因,若有余解脱,彼都无所生,故不名解脱。
究竟涅盘时,无蕴亦无我,不见涅盘者,依何有涅盘。
离爱解脱时,有思有何德,若无思有我,便同无所有。
若解脱有我,则容有思种,无我则于有,思维亦非有。
诸脱离苦人,定非由他有,是故应称说,我一切永尽。
宁在世间求,非求于胜义,以世间少有,于胜义都无。
第十品破我品内我实非男、非女非非二,但由无智故,谓我为丈夫。
若诸大种中,无男女非二,云何诸大种,有男等相生。
汝我余非我,故我无定相,岂不于无常,妄分别为我。
我即同于身,生生有变易,故离身有我,常住理不然。
若法无触对,则无有动摇,是故身作业,非命者能造。
我常非所害,岂烦修护因,谁恐食金刚,执仗防众蠹。

所以我(龙树)向您(佛陀)礼敬,您说的缘起是所有说法(指外道)的人中,无有能比,您是至高无上的。
法虽然无量无边,但是此八不含摄一切法。
以不生来说,生是显现的意义。
诸论师(包括内道外道)说种种的生:因果一,因果异,因中先有果,因中先无果,或说自生,共生,无因生,这是外道的见解,自生共生以数论派为主。
佛教内部除中观派以外,有主张他生者,以下说明。
无因生是顺世外道。
这里所说的生是指自性(实有)的生,所以要破斥,不是破世间名言的生。
所以生不是自性生,灭也不是自性灭,无生即无灭,灭依生而说,生灭是相依的名言。
其它六不也是一样。
本论主要破自性执,一切法唯名言安立。
执着一切法实有,实执就是无明,引生死苦。
因为外道及内道实事师执一切有为法有自性自相。
因缘生因缘灭,这是世俗名言安立的生灭,胜义是不生不灭,不常不断。
法如果是实有,就是自性有,自性就不需依因缘,永远存在,独立不依他法。
如果本来存在而现在灭了,就是永断;如有自性就是常法,但世间一切法是无常变异。
有人眼看有一异来去,认为是实有的。
如果有自性的一,就不需依他法而成立,就不需因缘,我们知道一是依多而安立的,无一就无多,无多就无一,相待而有。
如果有自性的异就无有相续,因为二者不相干。
再说来去也是无自性,以立足点不同而安立的名言。
如说请你来,在对方来说是名去。
现在以喻说明八不。
万物无有自性生,生必依因缘。
世间人眼见无始来的谷米就有,所以不生,已经有了。

若喜彼集聚,何不喜彼离,集聚与分离,岂非俱时有。

第一品终第二品明破乐执方便品虽见身如怨,然应保护身,具戒久存活,能作大福德。
人苦从身生,安乐由他起,身是众苦器,汝何重此身。
