教学目标:

1 语言目标:能够掌握过去进行。

2 技能目标:能听懂有关过去发生事件,能够用简单语言描述自己的经历。

3 情感目标:培养学生学习英语的积极性和兴趣,并体会生中如何用英语来交流。

教学内容

Words and expressions:

rainstorm, suddenly, alarm , go off , pick up , strange, at the time.

Grammar: the past progressive tense.

重点难点

To improve the interest and skills of listening.

To grasp the past progressive tense.

Multimedia, blackboard

1.利用多媒体,通过录像、图片制造情境,让学生感受。

2.启发、讨论、穿插于教学。

教学过程

Step 1 Warming up

What’s the weather like today?

It’s sunny

Aslo we can say How is the weather?

It’s sunny

Let students look at a picture of a boy walking in the rainstorm helplessly.

Can you guess what’s the feeling of the boy? Have you ever had the same experience?

What were you doing when the rainstorm came?

Step 2 learn the new words

Look at the picture of the words .And read after me the words ,then practice the new

words.

Next we move to 1a Where were the people at the time of the rainstorm? Match the

statements with the people in the picture.

1. _____ I was in the library.

2. _____ I was in my house.

3._____ I was on the street.

4._____ I was at the bus stop.

Step 3 Listening

Let’s listen and payattention to “was/were +doing”

Listen to the TV report and circle the correct responses in 1a.

Check the students’ answers.

Listen and repeat.

Step 4 Presentation

Look at the sentence in the picture:What were people doing yesterday at time of the

rainstorm? Read it aloud over and over,try to recite it. Then think over what the

difference is betwwwn”What were you doing?”and “What are you doing?”

Have students try to say out their ideas.

Then point out that they both mean”doing”,but “were”represents in a past

time,while”are” represent now.

Step 5 Practice

Talk about what the people were doing at the time of the rainstorm.

For example:

A: What was the girl doing at the time of the rainstorm ?

B: She was....

Step 6 Pair work

1c Talk about what the people in 1a were doing at the time of

the rainstorm.

Step7 Summary

本节课学习了过去进行时,其构成为:was/were+v.-ing.其含义为:表示过去某一时刻或某一段时间正在进行的动作。
