Unit 5: Helping Our Parents

Lesson Objectives

• Students will identify ways they can help their parents

at home.

• Students will develop their understanding of the value

of helping others.

• Students will practice expressing gratitude towards

their parents.

Warm-Up Activity

• Ask students to share one thing they do to help their

parents at home.

• Discuss with the class the importance of helping their

parents and the impact it has on their family.

Main Activity

Activity 1: Brainstorming

• Ask students to work in pairs and brainstorm different

ways they can help their parents.

• Provide each pair with a worksheet to record their ideas.

• After several minutes, ask each pair to share their

ideas with the class.

• Record the ideas on the board for the entire class to

see.

Unit 5 Helping our parents (Story time)说课

关于教学内容

本课是五下第五单元第一课时，单元主题是帮助父母，话题是关于家务劳动。类似旧教材Doing housework。只不过是情感升华了。第一课时依旧是帮助父母。因为Story time板块就是描述的Mike和Helen在周六两个时间段帮助父母做家务。为了使学生更好的学习，我制作了关于现在进行时的微课，本课初学现在进行时，在听说阅读等环节有大量的现在分词出现，时态的学习是学生认读这些现在分词的基础，有学习的必要性。(市展评课）2015年牛津小学英语译林版五下

关于教学目标

本课关于此板块的具体目标设定为：1. 初学课文，会读、会说本单元重点词句: clean, cook, wash, sweep, busy; What is he/she

doing?He/She is…What are you/they doing? I am/We/They are… 2. 能正确的理解并朗读课文，在教师的引导和帮助下,借助图片或关键词尝试复述课文内容。3. 能初步运用本课所学的词汇和句型询问别人正在做什么。4. 体谅父母的辛劳，树立观念：力所能及帮助父母！小学《英语》教材对story time的功能界定是：通过对话、短文、短剧等，帮助学生掌握基本的英语语言知识，发展基本的英语听、说、读、写技能，初步形成用英语与他人交流的能力，进一步促进思维的能力的发展，同时提高学生的综合人文素养。我所有的语言知识和技能目标的核心词是：初学。为后续课时的强化训练和充分运用打基础。 关于教学过程

本单元的重难点是现在进行时这个时态的学习与应用。这个时态是整个小学阶段时态学习最难点也不为过。教材为这个时态的教学也在逐步渗透，第一单元的语音板块，第四单元的语音板块都作为语音练习的辅料呈现。为了更直观的让学生理解现在进行时，我设置了前置性的学习——微课。通过三个活动让学生理解现在进行时以及用法。第一个活动：设计了羊羊一家帮助村长打扫屋子的一个故事，通过故事的讲述让学生初步理解现在进行时。第二个活动：Magic eyes的游戏让学生能运用现在进行时回答。第三个活动：Ask and answer的活动让学生理解并操练现在进行时。预留的作业是收集关于更多做家务的词组。

单元教学建议：

本单元围绕小孩帮忙父母做家务的话题，呈现了此刻进行时态特殊疑问句和确信句的用法。教学重点是关于家务劳动的动词短语和此刻进行时态的确信句型。教师可要求学生自带全家福和呈现家居生活的照片，或让学生画一幅表现家居生活的画，并想一想家务活有哪些，自己做过哪些，为课堂教学做好预备。

在语法教学方面，教师可从一样此刻时引入此刻进行时态，用对照的形式呈现。教师也可将五上第四单元like doing作为此刻分词的引入点。本单元的教学辞汇是关于家务劳动的动词短语，且都是动宾结构，师生可先温习学过的相关动词，再进行拓展。

教学目标：

1. 能听懂、会说、会读单词parent, sweep the floor, wash the dishes grow, pest, ladybird, go away.

2. 能听懂、会说、会读、会写短语：clean, cook, busy, garden, sweet.

3. 能听懂、会说、会读、会写句型及回答：what are you doing? I’m… what is he/she doing? He/she is…

4. 能明白字母组合ing在单词中的读音。

5. 能唱歌曲《Polly, put the kettle on》

教学重点：

1. 句型: what are you/they doing? what is he/she doing? 及其回答I’’m/they/we are…he/she is…

2. 辞汇：clean, cook, busy, garden, sweet.

3. 语音：字母组合ing在单词中的读音。

教学难点：
