1.教学目标

语言知识目标 话题:The Golden Age of Chinese Poetry
结构:学习分析篇章结构,理解段落之间联系
词汇:熟知课文相关词汇,如:poetry-poem-poet, dynasty,
the Silk Road,
tolerant, cosmopolitan, Buddhism, go hand in hand with, advance,
prevent…from doing sth, syllable, realist, romantic.
课文:了解唐诗和英文诗歌的有关知识,通过欣赏诗歌陶冶情操。
语言技能目标 听 听一首唐诗联唱的歌曲,说出歌曲中听到的诗歌,并发现都是唐诗,以此引出唐诗这一话题。
说 运用所学词汇和短语介绍唐诗的基本情况,介绍唐朝著名诗人杜甫和李白。
读 阅读中能识别新学词汇、短语并根据语境推断其意义;正确理解长难句;正确理解每段的大意和抓住全文结构;能进一步理解每个段落之间的联系。
写 运用已学词汇和短语,完成所有书面练习;能在discussion环节,经过讨论后,写出《回乡偶书》的英语介绍,展示每组的成果。
表达与展示 能通过口头与书面两种形式,介绍一位中国古代诗人,包括他生活的时代、生活经历、诗歌风格特点、主要作品以及个人爱好等。
文化与情感目标 进一步了解唐诗的有关知识;了解这一文学形式在学习语言中的特殊功能;增强学生弘扬我国灿烂文化的意识和责任感。
2.教学过程:
⑴ Contents.(展示本节课学习内容,让学生心中有数,做到步步为营,层层展开。)
⑵ Leading-in.(T: teacher S:students)
T: Let’s enjoy a song. While listening to the song, please think about the two
questions: Which poems are mentioned and what do they have in common?
S:《静夜思》和《悯农》。They are both Tang poetry.
(课堂教学从欣赏一首唱唐诗的儿歌入手,引导学生说出歌曲中涉及的诗歌,以及他们的共同点都是唐诗,从而引出唐诗这一话题。运用一首美丽的童声歌曲,能大大激发学生的兴趣和对下一教学任务的期待。由于这首歌比较长,所以我根据时间的安排,只放了一半就停止了。同时学习了文章出现频率较高的几个词:poetry, poem, poet,为接下来的阅读任务扫
清词汇障碍。同时展示了一本书《唐诗300首》,借此说明本模块的题目:中国诗歌的黄金时代。)
⑶ Fast-reading.
T:To know more about the Tang Poetry, read the passage quickly and finish the
following task. Before doing the task, I will give you some suggestions-- Learning
to learn: when doing fast reading, pay more attention to the first sentence of each
paragraph, so that you can usually get the main idea or title quickly.

(在读之前,向学生强调快速阅读的方法和技巧,注意每一段的首句,便能迅速抓住每段大意。通过选出每段的标题,能从整体上初步理解文章以及结构。由于是快速阅读,题目比较容易,而且学生以及做了充分的课前预习,所以只需要给学生留出大约1分钟左右的时间,即可让学生集体说出答案。)
⑷ Careful reading.
T:I want to divide the whole passage into two parts, so how to divide it?
S: Paragraph1,2&3 is the part one and the rest paragraphs belong to the second part.
T: Read paragraphs1-3 and answer these questions:
1. Why was the Tang Dynasty a time of expansion?
2. What were the benefits of trade with foreign countries?
3. Name three advances in science and technology at this time.
S1: Question1:“At its high point, the country reached as far as Siberia in the
north, Korea in the east and Vietnam in the south.”(比较现在中国地图与唐朝地图,直观形象地突出唐朝是一个扩张的时代,同时展示丝绸之路的地图,加以了解。)
S2:Question 2:Trade with foreign countries created a tolerant and cosmopolitan
culture.(注意纠正学生易读错单词tolerant 和cosmopolitan的发音。)
T: From the pictures, we can see the biggest influence of Tang culture was from…?
S:From India.
T:Yes,but what is from India?
S:Buddihism.
T:Good!Its origin was from India.
S3:Qiestion 3. ① Seng Yixing measured the sun’s shadow and the altitude of the
North Pole. ② The government opened medical schools. ③ The invention of printing.
T:You did a very good job.(同时呈现答案,学生的答案基本是课本的原话,所以老师可以概括。) ① Seng Yixing measured the sun’s shadow and the altitude of the North
Pole. ② Medical schools were opened. ③Printing began. (附上僧一行和其在天文学方面的成就的图片,复习astronomy一词。展示开办医校,唐朝的《金刚经》的图片,重现medical 和printing 两方面的成就。) Printing marked the beginning of the golden age
of literature. In the Tang Dynasty, literature meant the Tang poetry. (重点是引出下一部分的话题-唐诗。)
(首先把整篇文章分成两部分,前三段为第一部分,剩下的三段是第二部分。让学生分两个时段阅读。阅读第一部分,并能找到那三个问题的答案。其实,这三个问题分别涉及到这三个段落。在回答问题后,为了加深对问题的理解,分别用相关图片生动再现了答案,使学生能直观立体地了解唐朝和其文化科技方面的进步。在第二部分设计时,根据本段特点,设置了判断正误题和选出属于杜甫和李白的陈述,引导学生注重细节阅读,并能在阅读过程中有的放矢,带着任务阅读,培养他们发现问题、分析问题、解决问题的能力。附上杜甫、李白的图片,希望能激发他们的兴趣和积极性。学生通过这两段的阅读,进一步了解了唐朝诗歌的繁荣、特点以及两位著名诗人。)
⑸ Consolidation.
T:After we learned something about DU Fu and Li Bai, do you know how to introduce
an ancient Chinese poet?
S:……
T:This is the structure of the passage, and how to understand it ? Just because of
the great dynasty, an exciting culture and technological progress, the Tang poetry
appeared. Yes?
To understand it better, let’s look at the summary. Fill in the blanks and read
it please.

(在阅读完第二部分之后,紧接着让学生学以致用,用图表的格式概括如何介绍一位中国古代的诗人。这时他们会自觉得回读后两段,加以归纳总结,得出结论。然后,列出文章结构,让学生明白前三段在全文中所起的作用,他们分别为唐诗的兴起与繁荣提供了经济、文化与科技方面的背景。正是有了这三个因素,才有诗歌的繁荣和著名诗人的出现。在短时间内,根据文章结构图用简练的语言概括文章的大意或者retell全文有点难度,所以采用老师引导学生说出的方式,并给出summary,空出一些重点词汇和短语,以此加深对全文的理解,并在语境中掌握重点词汇和短语。)

T: As a Chinese student, we have the duty to introduce our traditional culture
including poems to our foreign friend. So please introduce this poem(《回乡偶书》)to
your foreign friend. Please have discussion in groups. Four students as a group.
