I once heard a story that told about when a baby was born. The story said that when a baby was born, a new master was born. The parents of that baby would become the servants. The question is: Why? Based on my observation, this phenomenon is true. Most parents who don't pay much attention to their kids have difficulties with their kids' attitude.I'll make a comparison of how two families raise their children. The first one is a family with three children. Both mother and father never say "No" to their children's demands. As a result, all of their children became stubborn and won't listen to their parents’ words, "We can't."The second family educated their children strictly from one year old to high school. The parents never approved or agreed directly to give their children what they wanted. They always postponed one or two days, even if they could afford it. Due to the way their parents educated them, these children understood that if they wanted something, they had to wait or they had to make an effort first. As a result, all the kids from the second family successfully graduated from university on time.In my opinion, if we want to be successful parents and raise our children well, we have to start disciplining them when they are toddlers but not wait until they become teenagers.46. Why did the writer give two different stories in this passage?A. To help prove his opinion about raising a child.B. To list different ways that parents may take.C. To criticize some paren ts’ foolish action.D. To prove that his way of education is right.47. What does the underlined word “postponed” in the third paragraph mean?A. Carried out at once.B. Gave up.C. Put off.D. Made a decision.48. In the writer’s opinion, which of the following about raising a child is TRUE?A. Children should be respected once they were born.B. Parents should educate their children as early as possible.C. It is right time to educate their children when they are teenagers.D. Children should be helped whenever they make mistakes.B篇Malaysia is a country of exciting beauty, with a tropical(热带的)climate. 3 Computers李仕才【阅读理解插花】I am a writer. I spend a great deal of my time thinking about the power of language—the way it can evoke(唤起)an emotion, a visual image, a complex idea, or a simple truth. Language is the tool of my trade. And I use them all—all the English I grew up with.Born into a Chinese family that had recently arrived in California, I’ve been giving more thought to the kind of English my mother speaks. Like others, I have described it to people as “broken”English. But I feel embarrassed to say that. It has always bothered me that I can think of no way to describe it other than “broken”, as if it were damaged and needed to be fixed, as if it lacked a certain wholeness. I’ve heard other terms used, “limited English”, for example. But they seem just as bad, as if everything is limited, including people’s perceptions(认识)of the limited English speaker.I know this for a fact, because when I was growing up, my mother’s “limited”English limited my perception of her. I was ashamed of her English. I believed that her English reflected the quality of what she had to say. That is, because she expressed them imperfectly her thoughts were imperfect. And I had plenty of evidence to support me: the fact that people in department stores, at banks, and at restaurants did not take her seriously, did not give her good service, pretended not to understand her, or even acted as if they did not hear her.I started writing fiction in 1985. And for reasons I won’t get into today, I began to write stories using all the English I grew up with: the English she used with me, which for lack of a better term might be described as“broken”, and what I imagine to be her translation of herChinese, her internal(内在的)language, and for that I sought to preserve the essence, but neither an English nor a Chinese structure. I wanted to catch what language ability tests can never show: her intention, her feelings, the rhythms of her speech and the nature of her thoughts.【文章大意】本文主要记叙了作者在不同时期对母亲所使用的语言的不同看法。

microprocessor and a memory chip or only a memory chip that is not programmable. The microprocessor card can add, delete, and deal with the information on the card, while a memorychip card can on ly do one thing.Smart cards, unlike magnetic stripe cards, can do many different things and hold a lot of information. In this way, they do not need to get information from a faraway place when they are used.Today, there are several kinds of smart cards, all of which are very popular in the market: IC (Integrated Circuit) Microprocessor Cards (Chip Cards) offer a larger memory and better security than the traditional magnetic stripe cards do.Chip cards can also hold data. These cards are used for many things. Thus, chips have been the main platform for cards that hold a secure digital identity. Some examples of these cards are:Cards that hold money.Cards that provide safe access to a network.Cards that allow setting stop boxes on televisions to remain safe from privacy.Optical Memory Cards look like cards with a piece of CD on the top.Optical Memory Cards can store up to 4MB of data. But once written, the data can not be changed or removed. Thus, this type of card is good for keeping records, such as medical files, driving records or travel histories.Today, these have no processors in them(althoughthis is coming in the near future). While the cards are almost as cheap as chip cards, the card readers are expensive.Title:21.________ CardsTypes 22.__________ Disadvantages SimilaritiesIC Chip Cards A larger memory & better23. ________ & hold dataNot mentioned Popularity;Large30.________;Low cost ofcardsOptical 24._______ Cards 25.________,drivers and26.________ to keeprecords, but 27.________ not much28.____________ data;No processors;Expensive card29.________15.A 16.A 17.B 18.C 19.D 20.B21.Smart 22.Advantages 23.security 24.Memory 25.doctors 26.travelers27.cost28.Unchangeable 29.readers30.memory。

必修2 Unit 3 Computers电脑晨读·记忆ComputersThe goal of early calculating machines was to simplify difficult sum s. But with the help of new technology, electronic chips replaced tubes and a revolution of artificial intelligence has arisen. From then on, the appearance of computers totally changed our lives. They can not only download information from the web when connected by the network or mobile phone signals, but also solve different types of logical problems. With operators as their coaches, they can even control rockets to explore the moon and instruct androids with the human race’s characters to mop floors and watch over your naughty niece. Anyhow, computers are so helpful that they do bring happiness. However, computers are easily attacked by viruses. This reality has become a hard-to-deal with-problem. As a result, computers are dangerous in a way. 必修2 Unit 3 Computers李仕才一、阅读理解If you want to slow aging, you might want to eat less. This finding is good news---if you were a mouse. The researchers studied mice, not people.John Price and other researchers studied two groups of mice. One group was able to eat as much as it wanted. The researchers limited what the mice in the other group ate. Their diet had 35 percent fewer calories than the first group of mice.Price says the mice with the diet restrictions were “more energetic and suffered fewer disea se.” They were not just living longer but seemed to stay younger for a longer period of time. The researchers found that fewer calories slow down a natural mechanism in cells called ribosomes. Price explains that ribosomes are responsible for making important proteins in the cells. But with fewer calories, they slow down. This gives the cells more time to repair themselves. The researchers say ribosomes use from 10 to 20 percent of the cell’s energy to make those proteins. Price wrote that “because of this,it is impractical to destroy an entire ribosome” when it starts to break down. However, “repairing individual parts of the ribosome on a regular basis enables ribosomes to continue producing high quality proteins for longer than they would otherwise. This top quality production, in turn, keeps cells and the entire body functioning well.”Price said, “ribosome is a very complex machine, like a car.” They need “maintenance to replace the parts that wear out the fastest. When tires wear out,” he explained, “you don’t throw the whole car away and buy a new one. It costs less to replace the old tires.”“Food,” he said, “isn’t just material to be burned---it’s a signal that tells our body and cells how to respond.” Price said the findings help to explain how exac tly our bodies age. And this may “help us make more educated decisions about what we eat.”1.What can we know about the mice with limited calories from the study?A. They can keep healthy easilyB. They need more energy to be activeC. They can look younger than they areD. They will live a longer life like humans2.What will happen to ribosomes if there are fewer calories?A. They will completely break downB. They make proteins in the cells slowlyC. They will produce high quality proteins moreD. They may need more time to repair themselves3.Price explained the ribosomes’ role of repairing themselves by _________.A. telling a storyB. listing basic dataC. making comparisonsD. experimenting on mice4.What does the text mainly deal with?A. Food decides how long you liveB. Can you slow down your aging process?C. Eating less may help you live longerD. Should your diet be reduced for your health?【文章大意】本文是一篇说明文。
