AdvertisementAdvertisement is omnipresent in our modern society. It seems wherever we go, such small ads will greet our eyes: the supermarket, the subways, the stop sighs, the walls of public buildings, the garbage cans, and whatsoever. The ads can be about everything from selling mobile phone, renting houses, treating difficult diseases to producing fake diplomats. (from domestic articles to machinery, from toys to aircrafts.)It’s no exaggeration that we live in the world of advertisement. The advantage of the ads is self-evident. They provide us with a good collection of goods and service, from which we can make our best choices. For the manufacturer, they can take advantage of the ads to project the characters of their products so as to seize the vision of the consumers and gain them huge However, we cannot belittle the disadvantages of the ads.①To many ads do spoil our daily life and waste our time. They interrupt the TV programs, filling our letterbox, and ruin our appreciation of nature in place of interests. People often feel burdened with the ads instead of satisfying with them.②On the other hand, some of the ads are illegal, spreading false information and planning to treat people who are eager to solve their problems. It’s high time we took urgent and effective measures to curb thisphenomenon.①Firstly, we should intensify the effects to supervise the ads markets. It’s crucial that we must regulate the ads market strictly to avoid someone’s availing himself or herself of the loophole of the market management.②Secondly, whoever takes advantage of ads treating consumers should be punished or imprisoned.③Thirdly, we should educate people to abide by the law and give priorities to honesty and credit. Only when putting these measures into practice, will our society be purified into a paradise for us to live in.AdvertisementAdvertisemen ts are forcing their way into people’s lives. People refer to advertisements in their daily lives because they are consumers. The advertisers are usually manufacturers, retailers and salesmen. Their merchandise needs to be advertised to bring it to the attention to the customers. Thus nearly every product is advertised in some way. To a largeextent, good advertising leads to success while bad advertising can mean failure. There are many ways to advertise and ‘ads’ come in different forms. Newspapers carry advertisements. Some products are publicized on TV and radio which bring them into notice of a wide audience. Billboards also carry advertising. Advertising is a big industry now and many agencies have been set up to furnish a variety of forms..However, advertising is not always truthful. A product is often misrepresented. The advertiser exaggerates the benefits of the merchandise he wants to sell. Thus, he misrepresents the truth. The consumer falls victim to such advertising. Millions of people have bought advertised products and have been dissatisfied with themLiving alone or Living with RoommatesNowadays, there has appeared a heated discussion among the college students as to whether they should live alone outsidethe campus or live together with other roommates in the students’ dormitory. Opinions are divided over the matter. Those who are in favor of Living alone maintain that it is very convenient to live by themselves. They can enjoy absolute freedom in a room of their own. They can have their own timetable without disturbing others. They are also free to equip the room with a personal computer so that they can have easy access to the Internet. But others argue that living with roommates has attractions of its own. With several students sharing the same room, each person’s experiences can be greatly enriched. They can learn a lot from talking to one another. By learning to tolerate the differences between individuals, they can become more mature. As far as I’m concerned, I prefer to liv e with roommates because I love the feeling of belonging. Besides, it is a lot cheaper to live in a dorm than to rent a apartment outside the campus. The Power of AdvertisementsEvery day, it is easy to see advertisements all around us. Look around. How many different advertisements can you see?Often products show the name of the company that made them. This is a popular form of adver-rising. The special picture or symbol, i.e. logo, appears on many different products. When you see a logo, it is hard to forget that product or company. Many people buy a product because it is made by a certain company. In fact, some people only buy a product of a famous company. They think it proves that they are fashionable and have good taste. It is common to find advertisements on TV or radio. Most advertisements are very short for people to remember. Nike, for example, has a simple slogan used all around the world:"Just do it". Advertisements often use funny situations as well. It is easy to remember an entertaining ad.All advertisements are designed to make people buy a product. An advertisement for a soft drink, for example, might show a group of trendy young people who are having fun. The young people are all drinking the soft drink. Adverrisers are saying to you, "Why don't you buy it and be like these people? You can be young, modern and trendy, too."You might think that advertisements do not affect you, but the next time you buy a soft drink, ask yourself: Why am I buying this particular product?AdvertisementWith the development of material prosperity, advertisements have become more and more important in our daily lire.Advertisements give latest information about products. If there were no advertising, consumers could not know about goods in their local shops. Advertising helps sell to a bigger market. Therefore, as more goods are sold they are cheapper. Advertisements also provide money for newspapers, magazines, radios and TV stations, etc..But there are also some opinions against advertising. Some peoplethink that advertisements do not give much information but only try to persuade you to buy. They create a demand for goods that are not really needed. Besides, advertising adds to the cost of goods. Further more, they are ugly to look at and spoil the enviroments.Actually, every coin has two sides. Advertising is without exception. But in today's world, advertising is not only necessary but also helpful.。
