This coating is intended for interior or recessed areas on exteriorapplications. The substrate may be unprimed or primed with MS-PB-30-1 or as specified. Production application is outlined in PS-711.1.2 Coverage of this StandardThis standard covers coating materials to be used over stainless steel, brass, chromium plated, or nickel plated parts and is intended for interior or recessed areas on exterior applications.2.0 MATERIAL CHARACTERISTICSAll materials approved under this standard shall meet the requirements listed in MS-PA-1-1 or as specified.3.0 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS OF THE MATERIALThe criteria for acceptable performance shall be as defined in MS-PA-1-1 or as stated herein. Production parts or test panels prepared as outlined in PS-711 shall be subjected to the tests listed below.TABLE 1: PERFORMANCE TESTS ***REQUIREMENTS TEST METHOD INTERIOR EXTERIORInitial Adhesion ASTM D3359A Coating shall adhere tightly and show no loss of adhesion.Humidity ASTM D1735 There shall be no cracking, checking, blistering, chalking, crazing, whitening, loss of adhesion, or other detrimental affects after 24 hours. There shall be no cracking,checking, blistering, chalking,crazing, whitening, loss ofadhesion, or other detrimentalaffects after 100 hours.Salt Spray ASTM B117 Not Required MS-PA-1-1after 100 hours.Acid Resistance LP-463PB-31-01, Method H Examine panel for softening or color change after 30 minutes.
