Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Greeting/ Warm-up

1. Greet with each other.

2. Walk into the students to greet with some individuals by using the

sentences:

Is there a library in your school?

Are there any computers in your school?

Are there any tall trees in your school?

Was there a library in your school two years ago?

Were there any computers in your school two years ago?

Were there any tall trees in your school two years ago?

3. Let Ss get familiar with there is/are, there was/were at the beginning of

the class, Ss know the importance of the unit. It’s great help for Ss to

focus on the studying.

Step 2 Presentation

1. Show them the PPT（What is / how to use there be）.

2. Read the sentences and find the rules of there be.

Then write down the sentence.

3. Change the sentences into the past tense. Read the sentence, watch and

think. 2

4. Know what the past time is and how to use it in there be.

5. Present the sentence and get more time of the past tense.

6. Use the pictures to look for the difference between two months ago and

now.

7. Practice the sentences with there was/were (no) and there is….

8. Observe how to use there wasn’t/weren’t….

9. Show them the words of the school. Know more places of the school. Pay

attention to the phonetic symbols, ask them to read and say.

10. Present the sentence and ask them to read and say.

11. Find out the differences. Let them get the rules to change the simple

present tense verbs into the simple past tense.

12. Lead the students to read the words and dialogue from the book.

Then try to recite it.

13. Pair work. To practice the phrases and sentences in pairs.

Step 3 Consolidation & Extension

Group work to talk about the life of Tang dynasty.

Step 4 Summary & Homework

1. Present the key words and sentences of this lesson, then repeat and explain

them again.

2. Homework:Copy the words and read the dialogue.

第一课时 A Let’s try & Let’s talk

本课时以听和读为主。在做听力练习前，教师先提供了一定的背景资料，让同学们熟悉该话题，并对听力内容做适当预测，再根据听力材料加以检验，这样可以加深同学们对内容的理解，也提高了推理能力。而教师在新课的组织方面，也尽可能地考虑学生的实际需要，此环节多以游戏活动等形式展开，鼓励同学们“敢说，不怕错”，课堂氛围较为活跃，也取得了不错的效果。

第二课时A Let's learn & Find the mistakes

这节课，我认为最成功的地方就是学生能够很好的认读单词，单词发音准确。利用歌谣学单词的效果很好，同时又提高的课堂学习气氛。用学校的现貌和过去对比学习句型时，学生掌握的很好，都能准确地表达出来。在写句型时，学生的单词书写工整，句子格式掌握正确。

不足的地方是上课前课件没有提前演示一遍，播放时课件出错。另外学完单词后，应该及时让学生听音、跟读。我把这部分放在学完了四个时间短语后，实际效果不太好。学生练习对话时，如果有地点和时间，应该先说地点，在说时间，学生在回答时先说时间后说的地点，我只给纠正了，没有让学生更多的练习，从而使学生自己感受，效果会更好。

第三课时B Let’s try & Let’s talk

本课时的设计注重同学们多听、多说。教师要学习把“说话权”交给学生，让他们畅所欲言，在恰当的时候才纠正他们语言的错误，让他们放胆去说，克服羞于大声说英语的心理障碍。同时联系生活实际，让同学们用所学句型描述自己的亲人，让他们在学习的同时亲近家人朋友，发挥自己的创造力。

第四课时 B Let's learn Listen,Match and say

本课时设计先是由生活实际引入，展开词汇教学，然后根据录音及多媒体设备等指导学生的“读”“说”能力，再接着采用多种游戏和交际性活动的形式巩固所学语言点，最后鼓励学生自我总结，从而取得较好的学习效果。今后的教学实践中，也应寻求形式多样、行之有效的教学方式。

1 Unit4 Then and now

单元整体分析

本单元是人教版英语六年级下册的第四单元，单元的话题是“Then and now”

本单元通过不同的场景，提供了表达以前没有某物和描述某人过去、现在不同情况的句型结构。共三个版块:A 部分， B部分和C 部分。A部分包括重点词汇和情景对话，共两个课时。第一课时呈现了吴一凡和他的爸爸的的对话，通过他们谈论自己的学校的样子，引出句型There was ... years ago. 第二课时吴一凡的爷爷和孩子们参观学校，孩子们想要知道爷爷上学时学校的样子，从而引出句型There was.../ There were...A 部分重点掌握表示几个学校设施的词汇和句型There was…/ There were…的运用。B部分包括重点词汇、情景对话和读和写，共三个课时。第一课时吴一凡和Mike谈话，吴一凡向Mike介绍了自己对季节和运动的喜好的变化，, 很自然的引出了句型I didn’t like... before. I like... now. I

couldn’t ....before.第二课时John和陈杰在Mike的家里，三人一起看老照片，谈论自己的变化，引出重点句型Before, I was...Now, I am...第三课时通过吴一凡记述自己的一个梦，综合了本单元所学的词汇和句型， 扩大了学生的阅读量。B部分重点是掌握运动的词汇和句型Before, I was...Now, I am...的运用。 C 部分包括B部分的听力测试、语法小结和C部分的故事，共一课时。重点是复习和巩固本单元所学重点词汇和句型。

在课堂教学中，首先要整体把握本单元教学内容，教学思路，教学重点和教学难点，了解学生的学情。然后围绕本单元主题“Then and now”展开教学设计。本单元的教学内容和学生自己息息相关，贴近学生的实际生活，所以在组织教学时要注意设计生活化，充分利用教材已经设定的情境开展活动，加强合作式学习。鼓励学生上网查阅资料，大胆发言，积极参与教师组织的各种活动，提高学生的学习兴趣。采用的教学方法有情景教学法、活动教学法、功能意念法等。
