课程标准要求初二的学生要达到四级学习目标：明确自己的学习需要和目标，对英语学习表现出较强的自信心。能在所学日常交际情景中听懂对话和小故事。能就熟悉的生活话题交流信息和简单的意见。能读懂短篇故事。能写便条和简单的书信。能尝试使用不同的教学资源，从口头和书面材料中提取信息，扩展知识，解决简单的问题并描述结果。能在学习中互相帮助，克服困难。能合理计划和安排学习任务，积极探索适合自己的学习方法。在学习和日常交际中能注意到中外文化差异。
2.教材分析
本单元以谈论问题为主要话题，引入表示建议的日常交际用语Why don't you do…?并借助我与最好的朋友吵架的对话引入should与could的用法。通过2d 学会在语境中感悟和体会词汇的含义，找出意思相近或相同的语言表达，学会根据上下文猜测生词的含义。
3.学情分析
对于提建议,学生们并不陌生。我们已经学习过：Let's do… You should… You could… You'd better do… How about doing…What about doing… Could you pleasedo...等内容，为本单元的学习打下了良好的基础。本课的话题是:也许你应该学会放松,以及如何放松。学生对这个话题并不陌生，有话可说，且感兴趣，有利于调动孩子们的积极性。
