Lesson 31 How Do You Travel?

2.了解如何介绍自己喜欢的出行方式。
3.了解如何询问对方的出行方式和回答方法。
4.初步了解动词不定式的用法。
1.掌握一些与介绍出行方式有关的词汇:walk, take, plane, train, ship, travel
2.激发学生兴趣,让学生运用所学知识介绍自己喜欢的出行方式。
掌握以下重点句子:
①You can walk to the bakery to buy donuts.
②You could take a ship to your hometown!
③Of course, but it would take a long time to go from Canada to Britain.
④I seldom travel by ship.
Step 1 Lead-in

How does Danny like to travel?
What is Jenny’s favourite type of transportation?
How does Brian like to travel?
Discuss the questions in groups. The teacher shows some pictures about different
types of transportation.
Ask the students to talk for three minutes. Then let them present the answers in
class.
1.Danny can walk to the park.
2.Jenny likes to take ship to other cities.
3.Danny thinks ships are not too fast.
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 2 Listening
Listen to the tape and find the answers to the questions:
How can Danny go to the bakery?
How does Jenny go to other cities?
What is more rapid transportation to Brian?
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 3 Reading
Read the dialogue and decide if the statements are true or false.

1.Introduce your favourite type of transportation in groups. What is your
favourite type of transportation?Why do you like it?Make a dialogue in groups of
three or four students. Then present it in front of the class.
2.Work with your partner. Write a letter to each other to introduce your favourite
type of transportation.
Step 5 Write a short note
Suppose you are going to introduce your favourite type of transportation. Write a
short note. Remember to tell something about your favourite type of transportation.
Practice for a while. Then let some students read their notes in front of the class.
Step 6 e to “Let’s Do It!”
Read the passage and finish off Exercise 1.Listen to the tape, finish Exercise 2
together.
Work with your partners. Act out a dialogue. Suppose you and your partners are
Danny, Jenny and Brian.
Practice for a while. Then ask some students to present their dialogues in front of
the class.
Finish off Exercise 3 in “Let’s Do It!”.
