本文对拱作为一种大跨结构的发展历程做简要的回顾，并且在这样的背景下考察金贝尔屋顶的结构与形式的关系。
如果将光的设计也加入考虑的话，该屋顶的设计可以看做是在当代结构技术的条件下提升筒拱的空间塑造能力的一次原型性尝试。
In the case of Kimbell Museum’s roof, the logic of the structure and that of form are not so much parallel, which has caused a widespread debate. This article reviews the relationship of the structure and form of the roof of Kimbell in the context of the arch and barrel-vault history. If we take account of light, the roof design could be viewed as an exploit of widening the spatial capacity of barrel-vault in the condition of modern structural technology.筒拱，结构与形式，光Barrel-vault，Structure and form，Light筒壳单元体的使用是建筑师路易•康(Louis I.
