Abstract
This session describes how Cisco enables fixed-mobile convergence by securely extending enterprise voice communications to the mobile handset, including presence-enabled directories, visual voicemail, single number reach, dial via office, text messaging, and conference notification and join. Although most of the focus in this area has been with dual-mode phones, the Cisco solution also works with existing advanced single-mode phones. This session describes multiple Cisco offerings, amongst which Cisco Mobile Connect and Cisco Unified Mobile Communicator. The Cisco Mobile Connect service, commonly known as Single Number Reach (SNR), enables one to keep in touch with the business at hand, whether at the desk or mobile, and enables enterprise IT and telecom managers to better serve the communication needs of their mobile workers. Cisco Unified Mobile Communicator adds a visual interface on the cell phone and can therefore provide additional functionality, but on a more limited number of handsets. Attendees will become familiar with Cisco’s fixed mobile convergence solution, Cisco Mobility Connect features, and the system architecture to integrate these applications into IP telephony networks.
