课题国外礼仪介绍(一)圣诞庆祝活动

课时一课时

教学目的通过介绍西方国家圣诞节的种种庆祝活动,联系中国春节展开讨论,从而达到开阔眼界,操练口语的目的。

教学方法讨论式、启发式

教具录音机、图片、自制投影片、圣诞小礼物

教学步骤:

Step 1 Free talk

Talk about the weather, the conversation may begin like this :

A : What a lovely day, isn’t it ?

B : Yes. But the radio says it’ll get cloudy soon.

A : Well, I really don’t like cloudy meather, what about you ?

B : Not at all.

A : ……

Step 2 Presentation

Ask one of the students the following question :

⑴What day is it today ?

⑵Which month is it ?

⑶Which is the last month of the year ?

⑷Do you know which is the most popular festival in this month in most western countries ? Step 3 Brief Introduction

Tell the students something about Christmas Day.

Christmas Day, which comes on December 25th, is usually said to be the birthday of Jeans Christ. (耶稣基督) A lot of children like this festival, because Father Christmas will come on Christmas Eve. He is a kind-hearted man, and often dress up in a red coat. He lands on top of the house and climbs down the chimney into the house, he likes giving children many gifts. Usually he put these good things in a stocking, so every child puts their stocking on the end of the bed before they go to sleep on Christmas Eve.

Step 4 Look and Say

Look at the flashcards and say something about them.

Step 5 Discussion

Discuss what people in western countries do on Christmas Day.

The answers may be like the following:

⑴Children wake up early , they can’t wait to open their presents.

⑵They say “Merry Christmas “ to each other on that day.

⑶They give each other presents.

Step 6 Ask and Answer

⑴When is Christmas Day?

(On Dec.25)

⑵People in which country celebrate Christmas Day ? Give some examples.

(People in England, Canada , the U.S.A. ,France , ...)

⑶What’s Father Christmas Like?

( He dresses up in a red coat, sitting in the sleigh drawing by a deer, ...)

Step 7 Sing and play

Listen to some beautiful Christmas songs and music, if they like , sing with them , hand out some Christmas gift.

Step 8 Discussion

Discuss what do Chinese people do on Spring Festival?

They may find these important points:

⑴Chinese people usually have a big family dinner.

⑵They play crakers, fireworks.

⑶Children may receive red bags with money.

⑷They visit their friends.

⑸Watch Spring Festival TV programmers. (On New Year’s Evening )

(6) They often have a thorough clean, which means driving away the evils.

Teaching Procedures:

I. Showing aims

Get the students to know what they will learn in this lesson and what they will do in this class:

1. To master some useful expressions.

2.To learn the dialogue and act out the dialogue.

3.To use the Present Perfect Tense freely.

II. Revision

1. Check the homework

2. Revise the passage of Lesson 10. Ask: What have you done to the environment? Have you done anything to harm the environment? What have you done to protect the environment? Help the students answer correctly. Then ask: How can you make our world more beautiful? Get several students to give their own idea.

III. Presentation

Present this dialogue:

A: Have you been a teacher?

B: Yes, I have.

A: How long have you been a teacher?

B: Two weeks.

First get the students to practise in pairs, then make similar dialogues.

IV. Presentation

Part 1. Speech Cassette - Play the tape for the students to listen and try to find the answers to the questions: Where has Lin Feng gone? Why has he gone to do it again? See if the students can answer correctly.

Books open. Play the tape again, get the students to repeat after the tape, have two students read the drills for the class.

V. Practice

Have the students practise the dialogues in pairs, then ask some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class.

VI. Read and answer

Have the students ask and answer in pairs, Using the words in the box help them.

VII. Guessing games

Get the students to guess the riddles. If time permits, do it in class, if there is no time, do it after class.

VIII. Workbook

Do Exercise I in class. Have the students do it individually, then check with the whole class. First, Do Exercise 2 orally, then write down the sentences.
