三复合句复合句由一个主句和一个或一个以上的从句构成。

主句为句子的主体,从句只用作句子的一个次要成分,不能独立成为一个句子。

从句通常由连接词引导,并由连接词将从句和主句联系在一起。

按照从句在句子中的句法功能, 分为名词性从句（包括主语从句、表语从句、宾语从句、同位语从句）、定语从句和状语从句等。

例如：If it doesn’t rain, we’ll go for a picnic at the beach.连词从句主句如果明天不下雨，我们就到海边郊游。

The teacher spoke slowly so that everyone could understand.主句连词从句老师讲得很慢以便每个人都能明白。

3-1 宾语从句宾语从句是在复合句中做主句的宾语的名词性从句，在句中可以充当及物动词的宾语、介词的宾语和形容词的宾语。

1.宾语从句的连接词宾语从句以从句的句式来决定连接词，连接由陈述句转化的宾语从句时用从属连词that；连接由一般疑问句转化的宾语从句时用从属连词whether, if；连接由特殊疑问句转化的宾语从句时用连接代词who, whom, whose, what, which和连接副词when, where, why, how。

①从属连词that的用法由陈述句作宾语转化为宾语从句时，用that引导，连词that只起连接作用，在从句中不做句子的成分，也无词汇意义，在口语中常被省略。

（详见第十四章连词中从属连词部分）例如：I know that he will be back.我知道他会回来。

在许多带有复合宾语的句子中，that引导的宾语从句经常移到句子的后面，而用it做形式宾语。

例如：I think it necessary that we should make a quick correction.我认为马上修改是有必要的。

②从属连词whether，if的用法一般疑问句作为宾语，转化为宾语从句时要用if或whether引导，意为“是否”。

表语predicative[prɪ'dɪkətɪv]表语是谓语的一部分，它位于系动词如be之后，说明主语身份，特征，属性或状态。

一般由名词，代词，形容词，副词，不定式，介词短语等充当。

My sister is a nurse. 我姐姐是护士。

宾语Object['ɒbdʒɪkt]宾语表示动作行为的对象，跟在及物动词之后，能作宾语的有名词，代词，数词，动词不定式等。

We like Eng'lish. 我们喜欢英语。

有些及物动词可以带两个宾语，往往一个指人，一个指物，指人的叫间接宾语，指物的叫直接宾语。

He gave me some ink. 他给了我一点墨水。

有些及物动词的宾语后面还需要有一个补足语，意思才完整，宾语和它的补足语构成复合宾语。

如：We make him our monitor. 我们选他当班长。

宾语补足语Object complement宾语补足语补充说明宾语的意义、状态等，称为宾语补足语，简称宾补。

“主语+谓语+宾语+宾语补足语”结构：有一些句子有了前3个成分后，还需要有一个宾语补足语对宾语做出补充说明，表明宾语的身份，特征等，使句意完整。

宾语和宾语补足语一起构成复合宾语。

①如果宾语和宾补是逻辑上的被动关系，则宾补须用过去分词形式。

如：Jenny hopes that Mr.Smith will suggest a good way to have her written English improved in a short period.珍妮希望史密斯先生建议一个好办法，让她在短期内提高英语写作。

②如果宾语和宾补是逻辑上的主动关系，则宾补须用过现在分词形式，如：He could hear his heart beating fast．他可以听见自己的心脏跳得很快。
