I.要点点拨
1. What does your friend look like? 你的朋友长什么样？
Look like: 看起来与（某人或某物）相像， 看上去像;
【词义辨析】look like, be like, take after
（1）look like 是"看上去像, 像..., 似..., 外貌特征是..." 如:
Doesn't she look like her mother? 难道她长得不像她妈妈吗？
（2）be like 范围更大一些,有时候既问性格也问外貌及家庭状况等. 如：
He is like his mother.他向他的妈妈.（性格）
（3）take after 最常见的是用在有血缘关系的亲子之间，外貌用的最多，也能够用在性格脾气这些内在特质上。除了人之外，也有时会用在动物上。如：
I take after my father. 我的行为举止像我的父亲。
The little cat takes after the old cat. 小猫和老猫的行为举止一样。

be of medium build 是属于中等身材 如：

【词义辨析1】be of medium height，be of medium build，be of+……
（1）be of medium height 是属于中等身高，如：
She is of medium height. 她中等身高。
（2）be of medium build 是属于中等身材，如：
He is of medium build. 他中等身材。
（3）be of+ 表示年龄（ age ）、大小（ size ）、颜色（ color ）、重量（ weight ）、高度（ height ）、价格（ price ）、意见（ opinion ）、形状（ shape ）、种类（ kind ）和方法（ way ）等的名词”，表示“具有……”，说明主语的特征。这类结构的主语可以是人，也可以是物，其中的of可以省略。如：
The five people are of the same age.这五个人同龄。
3.He has brown hair and wears glasses. 他有棕色的头发, 戴着眼镜。
【用法归纳】
(1)glasses意为“眼镜”, 通常用作复数名词。“一副眼镜”用英语表示为“a pair of glasses”。如：She
doesn’t like wearing glasses。她不喜欢戴眼镜。
(2)glass意为“玻璃”时, 是不可数名词。如：
How many pieces of glass do you need? 你需要多少片玻璃？
(3)glass意为“玻璃杯”时, 是可数名词。如：
She has two glasses. 她有两个玻璃杯。
