Grammar The passive voice in different tenses 1) 一般现在时(am\is\are done) Our monitor keeps the key to the classroom.→The key to the classroom is kept by our monitor.
2) 一般过去时(was\were done) Ricky Martin performed the song of the 1998 World Cup. →The song of the 1998 World Cup was performed by Ricky Martin.
3) 现在进行时(am\is\are being done) Everyone in the country is singing the beautiful song. →The beautiful song is being sung by everyone in the country. 4) 过去进行时(was\were being done) Smith was weighing the baby elephant. →The baby elephant was being weighed by Smith. 5) 一般将来时(will be done) The famous band will give a performance in the Capital Concert Hall. →A performance will be given by the famous band in the Capital Concert Hall. 6) 过去将来时(would be done) He knew that they would invite him to perform in the New Year’s Concert. →He knew that he would be invited to perform in the New Year’s Concert.

The First period: Listening and Speaking
Teaching Aims;
1.To train the students’ ability of listening and improve their spoken English
2.To tack about different kinds of music.
3.To practise giving advice and making suggestions.
4.To cultivate the students’ musical taste .
Teaching Important points:
1 .Learn to listen for key words.
2. Try to improve their ability to talk about songs ,music,feeling,likes,and dislikes.
3. Master the ways of asking for and giving advice .
Teaching Difficult points:
1. How to listen to specific information about music.
2. How to future develop the students’ listening and speaking skills.
Teaching Methods:
1. Listening-and-answering activity to train the students’ listening ability.
2. Discussion method to understand the music better.

Greet the whole class as usual
Step Ⅱ Warming up
1. Look at the map in the textbook and about different continents and difficult countries in
the world
2. Ask the students to listen to the songs and try to guess where the music comes from,
then get the Ss to explain their choices.
3. To tell the students there are difficult kinds of music in the world
Discussion:
1).where do you think the music comes from?
2).what makes you thing this music comes from ?
3)what are the differences between the songs you have heard ?
4)can you guess what the songs are about ?
5).what piece of music do you like best?
4. Brain storm
let the Ss say as many music-related words as possible, and the teacher writes them on
the blackboard , such as :classical ,pop ,folk, jazz, dance, rock and roll ,hip-pop, and rap,
Latin, the blues, light, heavy metal.
Step Ⅲ Listening
Before listening at first let the ss go through the questions in the listening part on
P12.then play the cassette for them to listen
The students will have two chance to listen ,the first time for question 1 and 2. while the
second time for question 3,4 and 5.
