b.过去进行时的结构为：was（were）＋现在分词；was用于主语为第一、三人称单数的句子中，were用于主语为第二人称单数和所有人称为复数的句子中。
c.与过去进行时连用的时间状语this time yesterday 昨天这个时间;at ten o’clock yesterday morning 昨天上午十点；from 6 to 9 yesterday evening 昨天晚上六点到九点；at that time 在那时；those days 那些日子等。
d)过去进行时态的否定句，疑问句及其回答：1）否定句，在was(were)后加not. Was not可缩写为was n’t, were not可缩写为weren’t.eg. He wasn’t washing clothes when his mother got home.. 他母亲到家时他没在洗衣服。
八年级英语下册unit 3 What were you doing when the UFO arrived?单元话题作文设计徐闻县第一中学王芳芳一、本单元话题分析本单元的话题是“Interesting events”，通过单元学习，要求学生掌握如何用过去时态谈论过去发生的事情，并能运用过去时态讲述一个故事。
语法结构要求掌握由when 和while引导的时间状语从句、过去进行时以及一般过去时。
在了解目标语言的基础上，要求学生能读懂描述过去经历的文章，并进行模仿写作训练，描述一段不寻常的经历。
Section A 1a通过让学生把几个不同的人及其在UFO出现的相应位置进行配对，初步呈现本单元的目标语言，即talk about past events。
1c是一个会话活动，让学生练习when 和while引导的时间状语从句和过去进行时的表达法。
3b是对学生目标语言运用能力的检验，要求学生能看图口头复述故事。
4是一个小组活动，让学生结合自己的生活实际，以采访的形式练习过去进行时的用法。
Section B 2c要求学生仿照例句谈论2a中列出的行为，练习while引导的时间状语从句的用法。
4a提供了几幅图画，要求学生能根据图画内容写一段故事，练习用过去时写作。
4b 是一个角色扮演活动，要求学生根据提示的情境用所学过去时进行会话练习。
Reading Section3 3b是一个写作练习，要求学生模仿阅读文章，以自己生活中的一个记忆犹新的事件为中心，描述当自己听到这件事情时正在做什么。
二、写作设计（教学指导）1、审题1）确定写作的话题（Interesting events）2）明确体栽：记叙文、书信或邮件3）确定写作人称4）确定时态主要运用：when 和while引导的时间状语从句、过去进行时以及一般过去时。
5）题型设计：命题作文，提示性作文、图表作文2、设计与布置写作任务教学具体流程整理思路——组织素材——规划文章结构——列出提纲——遣词造句——组织语言——起草文章——集体/同伴批改修订——形成二稿——展示批改。
1）整理思路——组织素材Interesting events的话题是回忆我们过去生活中有趣的话题，作为学生都有自己的兴趣爱好，回忆什么？当时你在做什么？指导建议：本单元话题是谈论过去发生的事情，运用when 和while引导的时间状语从句、过去进行时以及一般过去时。
2）规划文章结构——列出提纲由于已经基本确定要写的内容，文章开头用一句话说明自己过去某一时候，你在什么地方；主体部分重点阐述过去某一时候，你在做什么。
3）组织语言——起草文章罗列出学过的兴趣爱好的短语，学生动笔写作，老师走动观察学生写作情况，解决学生写作时出现的问题。
4）集体批改——同伴批改修订——形成二稿——展示学生互评后，老师抽样与全班同学一起点评，指导学生如何批改，学生从中也学会了怎样写好作文（如何找到作文的错误的地方或不足点，同时也要找到该作品的亮点）。
3、写作拓展周末, 同学都喜欢到公园游玩，根据下列要点，描述你班同学上周周末公园游玩时的情景。

4、教学小结(1)、写作课不是教语言知识点，而是教学生如何运用目标语言来谋篇布局的写作技能，同时也适时地贯穿一些做人的道理。
(2)、用多种批改方式，提高学生对语言的运用能力。
互相批改是个省时省力的方法，但前提是老师先教学生基本的批改方法。
还有，老师不能把所有的工作由学生自己负责，在学生批改后，要进一步检查。
