Unit 1 Our School Life
Part 1: Pre-reading

Part 2: While-reading
1. Reading comprehension: Read the passage "My School
Life" and answer the questions to check understanding.
2. Vocabulary building: Learn and practice new words
related to school life such as extracurricular, assignment,
and laboratory. 3. Grammar focus: Review and practice the present
continuous tense to describe current activities at school.
Part 3: Post-reading
1. Speaking practice: Pair students and have them discuss
their own school life and compare it with their peers.
2. Writing activity: Ask students to write a short
paragraph to describe a typical school day in their life,

inspire students and generate ideas for their own club.
Part 2: While-reading
1. Reading comprehension: Read the passage "Joining Our
English Club" and answer questions to check understanding.
2. Vocabulary building: Learn and practice new words
related to club activities such as debate, presentation, and
performance.
3. Grammar focus: Review and practice the use of modal
verbs to express ability, possibility, and permission in the
context of club activities.
Part 3: Post-reading 1. Speaking practice: Have students discuss in pairs
about their interests in joining an English club and what
activities they would like to participate in.
2. Writing activity: Ask students to write an email to
invite their classmates to join the English club, using the
new vocabulary and grammar they have learned.
