旁白: Many years ago lived an emperor.He thought so much

of new clothes that he spent all his money in order to obtain

them;his only ambition was to be always well dressed.the only

thing, in fact, he thought anything of was to drive out and show

a new suit of clothes.He had a coat for every hour of the day.很久以前有一个皇帝，他非常注重新衣服，因此他把他所有的钱都花在衣服上，他唯一的愿望就是每时每刻都能穿得很漂亮。实际上，他想的都是出去炫耀他的新衣服。他每天每个钟头都要换一套新的衣服。

One day, The Emperor(to Soldiers): Are there any new things

about clothes today? 有一天皇帝（对士兵说）：今天有没有有关新衣服的消息？

Soldier-A: Today two swindlers came to our city.They said

they were the best weavers in the world.士兵A：今天有两个人来到我们的城市，他们说他们是世界上最好的织工。

soldier-B: And they said they could produce the finest cloth,

their were not only beautiful, but the clothes couldn’t be seen

Scene 1

场景1：皇宫

Characters：the Emperor ，Soldier-A and Soldier-B(人物：皇帝，士兵A, 士兵 B)

Narrator：Many years ago there lived an emperor. He was very fond of new clothes

that he spent all his money in order to obtain them; his only wish was to always

be well dressed. He had a coat for every hour of the day. One day, the Emperor said

(to Soldiers):

Emperor：Are there any new things about clothes today?

Soldier-A：Today man came to our city. They said they were the best weavers in the

world.

士兵A：今天有两个人来到我们的城市，他们说自己是世界上最好的织工。

Soldier-B：And that they could produce the finest cloth, which was not only beautiful,

but the clothes couldn’t be seen to any man who stupid.

士兵B: 他们还说他们能织出最美丽的布。这些布不仅仅非常好看，而且用它缝出来的衣服，凡是愚蠢的人都看不见。

台上布置：台右角放一报架作织机,台正中置一坐椅,台左角立一衣架,架上挂满各式衣服;立一镜子,皇帝正对镜试衣,镜边立一宫女;

第一场 老大臣上

waiter: The minister has arrived

侍从：立于椅旁老大臣求见

Waitress: His majesty is in his dressing room

宫女：皇帝正在更衣呢 老大臣立于台侧,官员上

waiter: Here comes the official 侍从：官员求见

Waitress: His majesty is in his dressing room

宫女：皇帝正在更衣呢 官员立于大臣旁,两骗子上

Waiter：Two weavers have come

侍从：两裁缝求见

Emperor: Order them to come here at once

皇帝：快快宣见离开更衣处,坐上椅子

Cheaters: Your majesty 骗子甲乙：参见陛下行礼

emperor: What special skills do you have

皇帝：你们有什么特殊的本事吗

Cheater a: We come to be at you service from the far east.

骗子甲：我们是从遥远的东方专程赶来为陛下效劳的;

Cheater b: We can weave the most beautiful cloth.

骗子乙：我们能够织出最美丽的布料来;

Cheater a: The colors and patters are very fine.

骗子甲：这布色彩和图案都分外地美丽.

Cheater b: And people who are stupid can not see them.

T NARRATOR: Once upon a time in a faraway land there lived an emperor

who was very vain. All he cared about in the world were his fine clothes, and

all he thought about was how to get better ones.

B HIVES: A zoot suit, your majesty（陛下）.

A皇帝: There, how does it look?

B 仆人: Very becoming（很合适）, your majesty.

此处仆人又拿出两件衣服，询问怎么样？

旁白: He was always the first to take up the latest fashion; he was never

satisfied with anything less than the best.

B仆人: Your jacket has arrived, your majesty.

A皇帝: Splendid, help me on with it. Well, what do you think?

B 仆人: very charming, your majesty.
