My Favorite Singer Taylor Swift

Hi! My name is Emily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to

tell you all about my absolute favorite singer in the whole wide

world - Taylor Swift! I just love her so much. She's super talented,

writes all her own songs, plays instruments, and seems like such

a nice person too. Let me tell you all about why Taylor is the best!

First off, Taylor's music is just so catchy and fun to listen to.

Her songs always have these really cool melodies that get stuck

in your head in the best way. You'll be walking around school

singing "Shake it Off" or "Love Story" without even realizing it.

The beats are awesome for dancing around to as well. I have

major dance parties to Taylor's songs in my room all the time!

Taylor's lyrics are also really clever and meaningful,

especially for someone my age. A lot of her songs are all about

friendship, growing up, falling in love for the first time, and

dealing with mean people. I can totally relate to a lot of the stuff

she sings about! Like that song "You're Not Sorry" is pretty much exactly how I felt when my former best friend Sophia betrayed

me last year. And "Fifteen" just captures that feeling of being a

teenager so well even though I'm not quite there yet. Taylor gets

what it's like to be a kid!

Speaking of teenagers, how cool is it that Taylor wrote her

first album at only 16 years old? She was just a regular high

school kid but she was this crazy talented singer-songwriter too.

It's so inspiring that she worked that hard on her dream at such a

young age and made it huge. Now she's one of the biggest stars

on the planet, all before turning 30! I want to work that hard on

pursuing my passions too.

Not only is Taylor's story motivating, but she also seems like

a really good role model in general. She went through a lot of

heartbreaks and struggles in her love life which was sad, but she

always handled it with class and wrote brilliant songs to work

through the pain instead of lashing out. She's never gotten in

trouble, doesn't seem to have an ego, and is still really close with

her parents which I admire. Taylor also does a ton for charity,

especially for kids who are sick or underprivileged. What a

sweetheart!

Another reason I idolize Taylor is because she's shown that

you don't have to pick a lane - she gets to be a total pop star but also cross over into country, indie, or whatever genre she wants.

Her musical talents just span so many areas. Taylor plays several

instruments really well like guitar, piano, and banjo. She can rock

out for an arena concert then sit down and play these gorgeous

emotional ballads just her and a guitar. I love an artist who can

do it all like that!

What I think sets Taylor truly apart is that she got famous

just by writing great songs, not by doing anything too crazy or

sexy for attention. She makes her mark with her beautiful lyrics,

storytelling abilities, and melodic hooks. While other pop stars

are trying way too hard, Taylor can sell millions of records just by

being her authentic self - a funny, self-aware, down-to-earth

young woman who wears cute dresses and writes from the heart.

How refreshing is that?

To top it off, Taylor also seems so funny and relatable from

her interviews and social media. Her Instagrams and Tumblr

posts always crack me up. She'll make hilarious jokes, share cute

pics of her cats, and give motivational shoutouts to her fans.

Taylor humanizes herself in a way that a lot of other celebs don't.

I feel like if I met her, she'd be warm and kind instead of stuck up.

We could laugh about silly things boys do and bond over being a

little quirky and shy. She's like a big sister or best friend! Of course, I'd also freak out over how stunningly gorgeous

she is in person. Taylor has this classic, timeless beauty whether

she's rocking an elegant gown or is just in jeans and a t-shirt.
