二、教材主要特点为：1、强调语言运用教材体现了交际教学思想，注重学生语言应用能力的培养。

根据学生年龄的特点，在起始阶段采用了“全部动作反应法”，让学生在有节奏的歌谣中体验语言，在活泼优美的旋律重感受语言，在轻松愉快的语言活动重输入语言，让学生在做中学，在唱中学，在玩中学，为他们用英语交流打下基础。

2、注重能力培养教材在内容安排、活动设计和学习评价上都贯穿“学会学习”的主题。

注意培养学生的自主学习能力和独立运用所学语言做事情的能力，力求用简单生动、通俗易懂的方式渗透学习策略，鼓励学生能动思考，主动做事，自动调整学习方式，发掘他们积极求知、努力进去的潜能。

3、突出兴趣激发教材教学内容紧密联系小学生的生活和学习实际，语言材料真实地道，活泼有趣，让学生易学乐学。

同时，读出内容的思想性，科学性，系统性，教学形式强调多样化，使学生能够在丰富多彩、生动有趣的课堂活动中感知语言，习得语言。

4、重视双向交流根据学生的年龄特点和认知能力，教材选取了与学生日常生活密切相关，与教学进度和内容同步的中西方文化知识，真正实现跨文化交际。
