An Evaluative Report of London Fashion W eekend 20131.IntroductionLondon is one of the birthplaces of fashion creations. Designers can fully perform talent here, thus fashion design industry has been born here and thrived for decades. Dynamic, creative and charming can be explained the annual London Fashion Week. (d’Ovidio, 2010, p354) Each year in February, more than 50 trendy designers will hold their newest shows at London Fashion Week. There are also many outstanding exhibitions, parties and performances at that period. Whether at the T-stage, museums and galleries, or in famous restaurants, bars, nightclubs, or just in the city streets, the whole city show splendid clothing everywhere. Besides showing, numerous trading and consuming also happen here, which improve the fashion and tourism industry largely. (Aspers, 2010, p189-207)2013 London Fashion Week lasted from 14th February till 24th February this year. The formal shows were held between 15th to 19th, which belonged to internal fashion shows and commercial activities. The following London Fashion Weekend allowed the public to take part in and get in touch with powerful London fashion culture which started at 21st and ended at 24th. The main activities were shopping and exhibitions. I have always been interested in the fashion industry, and I had also received a designer friend’s invitation, so I participated in this important annual event this year, witnessed several fashion shows and a series of exhibitions. As a customer, my overall experience was every nice. However, I also had some disappointing experience due to the management and some other factors. Thus I make an evaluative report based upon the critical observation of London Fashion Week 2013.(London Fashion Week website , 2013 )2.Research strategyBefore attending the event, I made a checklist in order to record every detail I observed and made critical evaluation of London Fashion Week 2013. My goal is to make the most out my London Fashion Week 2013 experience by gathering the most relevant information about the treatment in an accurate, objective manner. I paid muchattention to the little things and the big things. I used the checklist below as a guide to help me in identify areas that may need attention in my customer experience. I filled out as soon as possible to get an accurate evaluation of the my experience. (Entwistle,& Rocamora, 2006, p751)Customer Experience Checklist:1.Appointment Booking2.Reception3.General venue sanitation / neatness4.Client consultation:5.Treatment / services6.Retail7.Staff /volunteer behaviour8.Customer Service:9.Recommendations:Overall Evaluation Aspects:1.Environmental2. Socio-cultural3.Economic4.Political3. Customer experience3.1 Overall observationActually I felt very lucky and excited to attend such a powerful fashion event. I could personally experience many brand shows, enjoyed the various artistic performances such as violin ensemble and cocktail show. (Skov, 2006, p764) Of course, there were many retail zones so that customers can collect fashion publications and brand products. They could let customer better understand and recall such a fashion week, help them know the overall fashion trend and choose suitable dress-ups for themselves. As for me, I like the fashion industry very much, so I want to be able tounderstand and experience it more in depth. And this time, I wanted to find something new and different from the perspective of an observer and audience. The main venue of the London Fashion Week was at Somerset House in central London. (London Fashion Week website, 2013 ) It is a huge construction which was designed in the style of Neo-classicism. It is a well-known historic heritage which enjoys great popularity among visitors. There are all kinds of colorful activities in Somerset House all year round. Many artistic events such as time open-air movies in summer and Summer Music Festival attract visitors from all over the world, many world famous artists have performed here as well. (Chambers, 2010) In addition, The fountain in front of the house is very beautiful, especially in the evening. Besides activities in the summer and autumn, ice skating in the winter is also quite fascinating, it is one of Britain's most famous outdoor skating rinks. In terms of the spring, in recent years, London Fashion Week were all held here. The convenient transportation, all-round facilities and customer services made many people satisfied with it.(Entwistle,& Rocamora, 2006, p751)I have watched five shows during the week. They were respectively held in Somerset House and Tate Modern. The experience in Somerset House was very enjoyable, although I had to wait outside for such a long time to get cantered in as there were so many audience. I found that the overall events were in good order.(London Fashion Week website, 2013 )Most people wore really fashionable clothes, some of them even looked so weird and astonishing, however they all performed nice manner. London Fashion Week did not look like a party but a heaven for beauty and fashion. No one cared about which row or seat was arranged in, few people worried if they were in the photographers lens on the street, even no one cared that if there were special following-up parties or free cocktails. (Johnston & Kong, 2011, p5-24) Everyone worked here with a professional attitude and an ease mood, or just enjoyed a 15 minute show. Here fashion and art were the most natural and indispensable parts of people’s life. Besides every other thing seemed less important. If you are a common customer, maybe you would nothave much interest in London Fashion Week. Indeed it had less reputation than the fashion events in New Y ork, Milan and Paris. And many media always love to cover those powerful and unconstrained style of experimental work in the guise of "weirdo" and "shocking" . As if London Fashion Week is a grandstanding behavior arts. However, for those who are really fashion enthusiasts and professionals, London is a treasure trove for them to discover creativity and talent, is a hotbed of brewing next fashion master. If there was no London Fashion Week and relative fashion and design events, the fashion world might be less interesting and surprising, lack of the infinite possibility that aesthetic fashion could bring to the public . (Marciniak & Bruce, 2004, p393)3.2 HighlightsOne of the highlight of the London Fashion Week 2013 was Burberry, a famous British brand. Burberry introduced the intelligent ordering service at the event, opened first digital exclusive custom-made services experience, so that customers can check the each link of the custom process through the videos, thus to further advance customer s’luxury shopping experience.(Moore & Birtwistle, 2004, p412-422) At the same time, Burberry released it latest T- stage makeup and fashion show live via electronic platforms, let the customers know about the latest Burberry news and information. Every clothes in Burberry Prorsum2013 can be exclusive custom-made by intelligent digital services. Each link in the process of ordering can be tracked through the videos, immersively experience its professional design and exquisite craft. Intelligent custom service pushed the digital process of Burberry to a new milestone and made customer services to become a center of the luxury experience. (Beard, 2008, p447-468) Burberry brand new show with customized services can be custom-made Burberry coats and handbags, with exclusive engraved personalized brand. Each customer can use touch screen electronic devices to communicate with the artisans through videos about the whole garment process, including design sketches, runway show, craft and personalization changes. In addition, customers can also tailor-made large mirror show the ordering goods, goods can be real-time displayed in London's Regent Street flagship store. I have personally experienced this digital customerservice and felt very convenient and people-oriented. From my point of view, through digital ordering service, Burberry had redefined the border between customer experience with digital products, and got new innovation achievements. Burberry ordering service provides Burberry classic trench coat online ordering and provide details of the combination of more than 12 million. Burberry London Regent street flagship store display, at the same time around the world for the first time the brand made in the digital world into the real world. It enabled the iPad app to make the real time control of the customer's detailed global employee data files and purchasing products, further enhance the customer's shopping experience. Burberry Prorsum2013 autumn and winter fashion show was held in Hyde Park on February 18, , at the same time it broadcast live on London's Regent Street flagship store. Global online viewers were be able to watch the fashion show video, pictures, and music through a variety of Burberry real-time platforms including , Twitter, Facebook, Google +, Pinterest, Instagram and Sina weibo. Followers can Twitter page on Burberry watch, forwarding, and comments. Before the show, Burberry's chief creative officer Christopher Bailey personally took in charge of the brand's Twitter account, posted exclusive photos, and preheated for fashion show. All of these efforts had achieved great success and established a model for other brands in the London Fashion Week.(London Fashion Week website, 2013 )Chinese designers has brought many creation to the world fashion stage. In this year’s London Fashion Week, the young designers from China once again brought fantastic fashion shows with oriental elements, which became a highlight of the event. Huishan Zhang is from Qingdao, he graduated from London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. During the learning phase, he had worked as a intern in famous clothing brand Christine Dior and got a chance to learn a haute couture design. After graduation, he created his own brand and committed to using Chinese traditional design fabrics, integrate western haute couture delicate lace and oriental elegance perfectly, thus to build a romantic sense of design. When he was asked that how he chose the Chinese style elements, he replied that the materials in this show were all selected and produced in China. He regarded Made in China an excellent symbol ofquality. Meanwhile, he wanted to let more foreigners accept the concept of made in China through his fashion expression. Another Chinese designer Haizhen Wang has a good reputation in British fashion industry. At the London Fashion week last year, he became the first Chinese designer to get the Fashion Fringe Award. As for him, the honor was just a beginning.(Entwistle,& Rocamora, 2006, p751) At 2013 London fashion week, he brought his amazing new design works. I thought the design style was concise hale and hearty stereo clipping, the lines were very strong, at the same time he put into some oriental elements, stressed using delicate tailoring to show woman's elegant temperament. From those excellent Chinese designers’ shows at London Fashion Week, I felt so moved and so proud of them. They put many years of unremitting efforts in UK for further study, working and pursuing dreams, finally occupied a place in competitive British fashion industry. They love their careers and also have a common ideal for the future, bring Chinese design to the the international fashion stage through continuous innovation.(Jansson & Power, 2010, p889-904)3.3 Some disappointing experienceI got a ticket to attend the Autumn&Winter Women Fashion Show of the well-know young designer J.W. Anderson at 8pm 18th February. (London Fashion Week website, 2013 )It was so cold that evening but I had to stand in the queue outside the Tanks at Tate Modern for over an hour before we were allowed to enter the venue. There were two long queues, one is for seating tickets and another one is for standing tickets. The queue of seating tickets slowly moved into the venue while the standing ticket queue which I was in had to wait until them got in. I chose to see J.W. Anderson’s show because I had been researched on Topshop recently on its business mode. Topshop has been supporting the New Generation(NG) program which aims at helping young designers.Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane had been the beneficial owner of this program. As for J.W. Andersen, he is not only the winner of the 2012New Generation, but also the got the New Designer Honor of the British Fashion Award. The venue was as cold as outside, since I had stood for such a long time, I felt my waist really hurt. Before long, a string security guide went to us and we were told thatthe show had began, there was no space for standing. As a result we were so angry, but had nothing to do but go home. (Fionda & Moore 2009, p359-363)International famous pop signer Rihanna’s show the day before was also very disappointing. High street brand River Island cooperate with Rihanna to release the Rihanna for River Island fashion series. She was late for almost one hour, and the whole show only lasted for 9 minutes. Besides, I heard many complaints and criticism that the show was really terrible, the design had no innovation and was full of out-dated Disco style. What I felt was that the clothes were very abstract and unpractical. I began to wonder what actually fashion was.4.Critical evaluation from a customer’s point of view4.1 EnvironmentalAs a huge invent, the environmental damage caused by the developing travel and the veune is inevitable. (Nemeth et al, 2010, p278) However, as Somerset House and Tate Modern had held many activities and enjoyed good reputation. They paid much attention on environment protection and energy-saving. From my experience, the venues kept clean and tidy everytime and everywhere. I could see the professional cleaners did cleaning work after the shows, they separated the trashes carefully. As for the visitor management, the signage and information were very clear and useful. I could saw colorful signs to guide ways. At the information center, people could get free event guide and ask for further information.(Entwistle, 2006, p724) There was also an official website of London Fashion Week 2013, people could check for the event schedule through different electronic devices. The facilities in the venues were very updated and all-round so that people could obtain excellent visual and sound experience. The only disadvantage was that some venues were too small to contain so many people. Precautions and plan appropriate transport links were also very user-friendly as the holders had much experience arranging those issues. All in all, the fashion event and tourism have caused the improvement and regeneration of the cental London, it has become a must-seeing destination. Besides the fashion andtourism industry also bring in funds which can be used for environmental improvements. (Skov, 2006, p764)4.2 Socio-cultural“The delivery of successful events can en courage greater participation in art practice or other recreational activity. This combined with the adoption of new cultural forms can stimulate an increase in volunteerism, community involvement and intercultural interaction and cooperation. (Y eoman & McMahon-Beattie, 2007, p1128-1138) As Somerset House was far away from residential areas, few people would got interruption by the events. Besides it has strengthened the cultural identity of London as a metropolitan cultural and fashionable city. The aim of the London Fashion Week was not only promote clothes, but also promote British Culture wisely. Here commercial and art got a balance. As a result, the soico-cultural impact of the event is very positive. (Thomas, 2011, p 352-365)4.3 EconomicThe multiplier effect makes visitor spending of even more importance to the destination. (Tribe, 2009, p548)As for the London Fashion Week, it was such a powerful event including not only fashion shows and trades, it also stimulated many other industries including tourism, catering, transporting and hoteling. The event was long enough to encourage overnight stays. The merchandise could maximize profit and they made purchases from local suppliers. The surroundings catered for all of the visitor needs at the event and locally coordinate a critical mass of attractions and events to retain visitors locally. (Getz,1997) In order to participate in the shows, many visitors home and abroad spent much money. Not only their consuming behaviors improved local economy but also increased many job opportunities. Besides, this has formed a recycle between the audience, destination and the event holders. The event attracts so many people and become more famous, next year there will be more people participate in it, thus will further improve the development of economy. (Joseph, 2011, p675-679)4.4 PoliticalBritish government has always paid much attention to the creative industry and support greatly these years. During the fashion week this year, some politicians appeared at some shows, which symbolized the government’s biggest recognition and support to London fashion industry. (Schlenker, 2010, p10)5.ConclusionAs a conclusion, London Fashion Week 2013 as a huge and powerful event, it gave me much enjoyable customer experience. The overall event was in mature management. No matter the environment, socio-cultural, economic or the political effects, it has gained much achievement. However, in order to have the same position and influence as the Fashion Week in New Y ork, Milan and Paris, London Fashion Week still has a long way to go. It should furthur take use of the digital services such as smart phone applications to let more people get participation in it. Besides, it should expand the venues so as to contain more people or control the number of the aundiences. All in all, London Fashion Week is a successful and infulential event. 巴黎时装周英文作文英文:Paris Fashion Week is one of the most highlyanticipated events in the fashion industry. As a fashion enthusiast, I have been following the shows and presentations closely. The week-long event features some of the biggest names in fashion, showcasing their latest collections on the runway. One of the highlights of Paris Fashion Week for me was the Chanel show. The collection was inspired by the city of Paris itself, with models walking down a runway designed to resemble the Seine River. The clothes were a mix of classic Chanel tweed suits and more modern pieces, all with a distinctly Parisian flair.Another standout show was Dior, which featured a mix of feminine and masculine elements. The collection included tailored suits paired with delicate lace and floral accents, creating a beautiful contrast. The accessories, including statement earrings and oversized bags, were also a highlight.Overall, Paris Fashion Week was a great success. It was a celebration of creativity and innovation in fashion, and I was thrilled to be a part of it.中文:巴黎时装周是时尚界最受期待的活动之一。
巴黎时装秀英文作文英文:Paris Fashion Week is one of the most anticipated events in the fashion industry every year. It is a time when designers showcase their latest collections and trends for the upcoming season. The fashion shows are attended by celebrities, fashion editors, and buyers from all over the world.I have never attended a Paris Fashion Week myself, but I have watched many live streams and read countlessarticles about it. From what I have seen, the shows are always extravagant and full of surprises. Designers use unique and innovative techniques to showcase their designs, such as elaborate set designs and dramatic lighting. One of the most memorable shows from the recent Paris Fashion Week was the Chanel show. The runway was transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with snow-covered trees and a cozy fireplace. The models walked down the runway in warm, layered outfits, accessorized with fur hats and gloves. It was a perfect representation of the winter season.Another show that caught my attention was the Dior show. The designer used bold colors and patterns to create a collection that was both edgy and elegant. The models wore statement pieces, such as oversized jackets and colorful boots, that made a statement on the runway.Overall, Paris Fashion Week is a must-see event for anyone interested in fashion. It is a time to see thelatest trends and designs, and to be inspired by the creativity of some of the world's top designers.中文:巴黎时装周是每年时尚界最受期待的活动之一。
初二英语时装秀作文Fashion has always been a significant aspect of human culture, reflecting our individual styles, personal preferences, and societal trends.
